That's what I thought too you can feel him and hear him trying to push something out though with no luck. The doc said he could feel it.
How long has it been since he pooped? I'm surprised they said water and not a suppository first. We had to insert a glycerin suppository for DS1 around this age and it worked almost instantly.
I was surprised too - I didn't think you were supposed to give water to babies. I originally thought it was just really bad gas but the doc said he could feel the stool. It had been less than 48hrs since his last poop. He finally just had two decent ones about ten minutes apart but they weren't hard at all, liquidy like normal.
Weirdness.
He does seem better tonight though I'm nursing him side-lying and he's not screaming currently.
ETA: for future reference , was the suppository OTC?
Never will I ever complain about no napping and too much poop. Napped well yesterday and hasn't pooped in about 40 hours (not concerned, just wish he'd go) so he was too awake and uncomfortable to sleep well. I'm trying to decide what I need more for my sanity - a good nap timed with his brother's or good sleep at night. It's a toss up.
Same. Going on 2 hours trying to get him to sleep. His big brother is also boycotting sleep and acting like a jerk. And my H is cranky and annoying me. Tonight sucks.
We are having a terrible night. I don't know why he wakes every two hours starving. I had h come up and put paci in but he only goes back to sleep for twenty minutes.

The past half a week I've had so much trouble falling back to sleep after any 2am or later wakeups. I don't know why but my anxiety has been sky high lately and I get stuck in these anxious loops and by the time I finally fall back asleep the baby (or DD1) is up again. :/

E has been consistent in his 2.5-3 hour stretches. Last night, he slept from 10-5, woke up to eat & back down from 5:30-8. SEVEN HOURS IN A ROW PEOPLE. Like, I woke up at 3 to make sure he was still breathing. The only frustrating part is I didn't do anything different than I do any other night so I don't know how to make it happen again. Also, my boobs were angry this morning. I fed him at 5, then again at 8, and still had to pump 8oz afterwards to feel empty. For those with babies that usually sleep longer, did your supply eventually even out overnight?

Firsr, YAY E!! I hope it's a new trend for him! A has been consistently sleeping 7+ hours straight for a few weeks and I had boulder boobs for about a week, then they regulated. I woke up one particular night and HAD to pump because it hurt so bad, but only until I felt comfortable. I didn't want to keep the demand up by pumping MOTN every night.
