In the car yesterday Me: H, is S sleeping? H: no she's not sleeping. Me: She's just relaxing? H: yeah A few minutes later B: wake up baby, wake up! Me: is the baby sleeping? It's ok if she wants to sleep B. H: no, she's just laxin
Leaving the gas station: Me: ok, let's go C: Vamonos! (Spanish for "let's go")
I didn't teach her that, so clearly her teacher says it to the class.
Atticus keeps throwing out randoms like, "roja means red" and saying the date in Spanish. It's so cute. He's learning it at school because he probably knows more than I do!

I have a few words I use daily with her, but vamonos def. isn't one of them. LOL

Going through B's shoes and coming across her Cinderella glass slippers from Halloween. B: I wanna wear my glass slippers! Me: I don't think they fit you anymore. :: she puts one on :: B: see, it fits! I can marry the prince later.

Mh: get out of the bathtub so you can watch Curious George C: Mommy said I could watch it?!? Mh: no, I say you can watch it. C: oh. Can you go ask Mommy if I can watch it?
C: so when am I getting sisters? Me: um, you're not getting any sisters. Remember, I told you, it will just be you, me and Daddy C: but I like sisters Me: I know, but even if Mommy had a baby it might not be a sister, it could be a brother C: oh yeah, I like brothers too, I want one of those AND sisters. Me: talk to your Daddy about that
Not going to happen. Plus she is obsessed with the ideas of OLDER sisters, mainly because her friend has an older sister who is 5 or 6 and Cadence adores her.

We got our first "Shit happens" this weekend. I made her repeat herself because I thought I misheard her the first time, nope, that's exactly what she said. Mh said, "that's your fault!" I said, "No it isn't, I say 'accidents happen' not shit!!"
Atticus: I don't want these grey pants! I want cafe! Me: cafe? You mean coffee? Honey, we need to get dressed. Atticus: No, cafe (points to brown pants)! Me: these pants? Why are you calling them cafe? Atticus: Mom, brown IS Cafe. Me: Oh. I didn't know that. Atticus: you want me to teach you the colors, mommy?

If you all remember, we just had a patio installed recently so obvi it's been a focal point. Now B is calling the iPad an ipatio. "Can I play w my ipatio?"
The other night we sent N upstairs to go potty and brush her teeth (we sometimes let her do this herself and she's getting pretty good) She came back down after a bit.
Me: Did you go potty and brush your teeth? N: Yep, and poopy too! Me: Oh, good N: I tried to catch my poopies but I couldn't catch them. Me: What?! did you wash your hands? N: No.... Me: Please go wash your hands and no more trying to catch your poop. N: Okay Mom, I won't catch anymore poop.
Colin has been telling me things like "kids can do whatever they want" or "I can say whatever I want", etc. He's not saying it at all snotty, which just makes it hysterical. Except I probably shouldn't laugh when he says that right after I tell him not to do something. Right?
Maggie's so encouraging. The other day, Benjamin managed to grab a toy from his carseat and Maggie goes, "Benjamin, did you get that all by yourself?" When he said yes, she said, "Great job! When we get home, give me a high five, ok?"
And yesterday. I was buttoning her shirt, which is notoriously difficult and I said she might have to ask DH. When I got it she said, "Good job! Hero Mommy!" "Hero Daddy saves day" is a thing DH has said from the beginning (like a newspaper headline, you know? "Local man saves child" or whatever). So whenever he does something for her, he says "Hero Daddy!" I've never gotten to be Hero Mommy, so yesterday was a big day.
That's so cute. Sam is so encouraging to our Benjamin too. It's adorable. He just started saying Dada and everytime he does, Sam says "Mommy - look at Benny! He's learning to say Dada! Good job Benny!" Or if Benny cries because I leave the room, he'll go over to him and say "don't worry Benny, mommy's coming right back. Your big brother is here now! It's ok Benny!"
After being told not to spit this morning, Colin started clucking his tongue instead. I told him that he could cluck until the cows come home and he yells "NO! Cluck until the CHICKENS come home! And then Chasey can cluck, too!"
Somehow S got it in his head that Meet you = Beat you.
So every day when we get to DC, I let him out of the car and there's a long walkway to the door that he can go on by himself. So he gets out and I say "you can go along the walkway and I'll get Benny and meet you at the door". Every day, he says "No mommy, I'm gonna meet you!!!!" meaning, I'm gonna beat you. And runs to the door yelling "I'm meeting you!!!!!"
