We were discussing his birthday today and I asked what he wanted for his birthday. He said a cake with candles. I said ok but what do you want as a present? He thought for a few minutes then declared:

Anyone else have kids that talk to themselves and then you don't realize they are talking to themselves so you respond and they yell at you for butting into their private conversation?

I accidentally butt into Col's chats with his stuffed animals. He does NOT take kindly to that. Boy loves his mama but do NOT get in between him and his Brown Bear!

Yes! or if she catches me smiling or chuckling at something she says she'll say "don't smile at me, mom. I wasn't talking to you!"

Col's new thing is "ooooh, that sounds like fun/good" or "ooooh that doesn't sound good". I'm not sure where he got it from, but he must say it a few dozen times a day and it's SO CUTE.
Tonight I was waiting for H to go potty before bed. I was messing with her hair and she slapped my hand away. I told her that wasn't nice and to apologize. Instead she started crying. I asked her why she was crying because she didn't need to cry unless she was hurt. She responded with "my heart is broken".
One that absolutely cracks me up is "Let me handle this..." LOL ok.
He will also randomly call DH by his first name, but thankfully I am still Mommy
He loves the Zarbees cough syrup and asked for some night before last. DH said, "Well, we only take this when we're coughing, and you're all better. You're not coughing anymore". Bradley promptly fake-coughed and held out his hand for the bottle. Stinker.

This happens at our house, too! Col repeats "Ryan, where ARE you?" in this sing-songy voice and smiles when it catches my attention. He's so proud of himself for realizing that Daddy has a name.
H has been encouraging S to crawl down the hall into her room. She stands at the end of the hallway saying "come here little baby! Come to my room little baby!"
Atticus: Bear, bear! Daddy, answer me when I talk to you! Pete: I didn't know you were talking to me. Mom calls me Bear. Atticus: You're Daddy Bear, she's Mommy Bear, I'm Baby Bear. You take care of me. You keep me safe, you clean me, you feed me.
Atticus gathered his lawnmower, leafblower, and a hat. He gave me a really serious look and said, "I need to do some work. I'm very busy right now. Don't touch my things."
Mid-tantrum this weekend - multiple times - Colin shouted out "I'm tired, I'm tired!" while melting down and otherwise making zero sense. It does the trick though, I go from being annoyed to feeling bad for him almost immediately!
Putting rainbow socks on Layla this morning... L: I want a rainbow outside! Me: Well then it's going to need to rain for that. L: Rain doesn't make rainbows mom! Unicorns do!
