I am getting a tiny taste of working mom life I think. I am exhausted. It need to be up and out the door in less than an hour because I need to drop people off at the airport.
He seems to be sleeping better right now, just in time for me to wake him up 😩
So. Tired. Last night wasn't even bad. Just the normal 2 wakeups. But I'm so tired from never getting a full night of sleep. I think it's just building. I think tonight I'm going to go to bed when the kids do and not get up until they wake.

Last night was awful. DS is getting a cold I think. He was up every 1.5 hours or so and then started coughing about 3:45. Having a sick baby on top of being sick is no fun.
Everyone in the house but me has had a runny nose and now have a post nasal drip. That means everyone starts coughing in the morning, and waking each other up. I need these kids to sleep past 6:30.

The morning is going great so far - Is (my DD) had the hiccups so was late going down for first nap... she just woke 5 minutes into my pumping session (EP'er, heart surgery). I think she's back asleep now after rocking. We have to go get some outdoor/warmer clothes - it's cold and rainy out... I'll have to baby wear though since the stroller is in the garage with flat tires. At least if it stops raining we'll both be more comfy.
Also, I know I'm pretty lurky but I am reading and sending sleep and health vibes.
bexincanada, I am in awe of EPers. I do it 2-3 times a day five days a week and I HATE it.
I don't think I could do it if I weren't on maternity leave or if Is wasn't an only at the moment. At first I hated it plus felt like a failure because we couldn't bf, eventually you just do what you've got to do.
Ridley likes to spin herself in circles during tummy time so she can't reach any of her toys and then cry that she can't reach her toys. It's fun.
I laughed at this, I hope it's cute on some level. Is will reach for a toy and then inadvertently roll on to her back and look stunned/freaked out. She won't roll back to front yet, she almost gets there reaching for strategically placed toys but then gives up and sucks her feet instead.

Lol, no, I think it's funny. She's really good at spinning.
I had a funeral this AM. It was the first time I took DD to church nursery. She did awesome, I cried like crazy. DD is refusing nap now since she is overstimulated and missed morning nap. My in laws show up in a few hours and the weekend festivities will begin.

H took a random half day. I'm crying inside because last night was rough and having to go to the airport this morning I didn't get a nap. It's not like H won't let me take a nap it's just hard for me to get DS settled down when he's home lol plus j get no chores done

Praise the lord DS finally slept last night!! So of course I'm exhausted this morning.
I went and got him a diffuser and a sleep blend of essential oils (I don't really use oils except when sick, so good for congestion!). I changed DS into his night diaper, just had a night light on, turned on the diffuser, played Rockabye Baby music and massaged him. Then got him in his jammies and nursed him to sleep. Laid him down after rocking him for a while and prayed he would stay asleep. 30 minutes later he was awake and screaming. I wanted to cry.
We've tried a lot this week and I decided picking him up wouldn't help things. So I went in and sat next to him, patted him and shushed. After 10 minutes I turned him on his side so I could pat his back and he instantly calmed. He dozed in and out for about 45 minutes then screamed again. I went in and immediately turned him on his side and he sighed and went right back to sleep. So I grabbed the boppy to prop him that way and the kid slept ALL NIGHT.
I kept checking on him to make sure he was still breathing and he was just in a super deep sleep. I also had to keep going in to get DD to sit on the potty since she likes to sleep naked.

EPing doesn't really bother me, but as said before when you know that is the only option to get them breastmilk you accept it and keep on moving forward.
Me: 30 DH: 29; Married: September, 2010 TTC #1: April 2013 Benched: May 2013 Cancer(DH) Off the Bench: September 2014 July 2015 ER low sperm count and motility(radiation side effect). FET September 1,2015. BFP 9/9/15.- 3 on the way.
I feel like a EPer. I only get to nurse twice/day now and a little more on weekends. I pump 5x/day. Ew!
plus 1 - i pump at least 5x a day but then nurse all night
I put the kibosh on MOTN feeds. We started real sleep training Monday and last night he slept 730-520 with a brief wake up at midnight for which he fussed for about 25min and put himself back to sleep. I nursed him at 520-535 and he slept till 730am. I know sleep training isn't for everyone. But we are all feeling much better around here. I had been just waiting for his weight to go up. The only downside is that I miss the snuggles.
