I was going to take a me day and go shoe shopping since none of my winter shoes fit. Instead I'm hanging out with my sick toddler watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse. It's just a bad cold but he (and I) slept poorly and he needs a rest day.
I haven't been around here as much lately. We've been so busy. My hubby took 2 weeks off and we did a lot of stuff! Worked more on the house, took the kids to the children's museum and pumpkin patch, spent a day with my in laws, got DS' hair cut, took the kids out to the farm to help grandpa harvest and even got family pics taken. We literally only had one family pic together with DS crawling on the windowsill behind us in the hospital 😂 (So that doesn't really count). We had a blast but it was hard to see hubby go back to work. I'm just working on getting back on a schedule just in time for DST to mess it up lol

Sorry you aren't getting much "me" time, but I hope you're still able to have a relaxing day with your kiddo. I hope he starts feeling better quickly!
How is it November... And our babies were born in May?? (Mostly )
This is so silly, but I feel a little emotional about Halloween being over already! It's more the fast passing of time then the holiday itself, of course. But DS's costume is still laying out from last night and I got all sad thinking that now it's time to just pack it away! Another first come and gone
ETA - Hmm. Apparently some choices of punctuation now equal random emojis...

I'm dealing emotional about this too!
It's tough! I feel so silly getting overly emotional about random things!!
Thanksgiving is gonna be a doozy - that was the first time I felt DS inside And I'll never, ever forget it
I'm in a funk today so I'm just going to vomit my thoughts here. Thanks in advance for loving me anyways.
I gave DD oat (I'm allergic to oat) end of last week. Then, my dad gave her a crap ton of food at a Mexican restaurant that same night (guacamole, banana, lemon and lime, beans). She is constipated and has had poop issues since Saturday. Pedi gave me some solutions so will try them today. However, she also has her first diaper rash and it's so bad. It came out of nowhere! I'm upset because I'm worried she's allergic to oat too but have no idea since my dad gave her all that other stuff.
I have dinner with a friend tonight but am not feeling it at all. I already canceled her twice so I think I need to go. However, I want to stay home with DD because I can tell she's in pain and she also has a cold. . I feel like an awful mom.
DH and I are arguing over the house. Since we are putting an offer in on the new one, I want to get our current home listed. He wants to keep it since we are moving an hour away and he will still be working in our current city for 6 months. I think it would be more cost effective for him to commute (would be an hour and a half commute) or stay with my parents a few nights a week. He wants to buy the new house but stay here as a family unit the days he works in the big city and stay in new house the days he works in his new practice. I would rather single parent than cart DD back and forth every other night. Plus, the extra money kills me!!!
Ok- end of word vomit. If you read it all, thanks a lot!!!

Awwh westiemom - so sorry you're having a funk day. I hate those days! I would think that if you give time for DD's system to clear and then try oats again alone, then you'll know if they are the culprit. Although - you mentioned lemon and lime? Those are very acidic and maybe those could be causing the rash?! STMs obv chime in cause I'm a first timer and haven't gotten to solids yet
As for the house situation... Just oy! I can't even keep one house clean! I can't imagine going back and forth and living between two homes. Would the long commute only be for six months? Long commutes are awful (btdt), but I'd think sucking it up for six months would be better then dealing with two houses and ALL that comes with them!
If you truly feel that you need to stay home with DD, then do that Do what feels best. You won't enjoy yourself if your worrying about her all night. Hopefully your friend will understand. Or maybe invite her over and order take-out - best of both worlds! You are a great mom!
As for the rash - put the cream on thick and remember not to wipe it all off when changing her! I did not know that wiping part, so I'm quick to share that important info! Hopefully it'll clear up quick

Thank you! I didn't even consider the acidic foods. Hopefully that's all it is....
Yes, living in two homes is hell.... I decided I don't care what he does, I'm packing my house and moving and not going back and forth.
I started packing this AM. It's way to early but I'm packing nonessentials and feeling better!

I swear Portland was built on a huge ant hill. Everyone I know has an ant problem. I thought we got rid of them, but I just found one crawling on the wall in the living room. And now that shouldn't really be using Raid anymore since she can scoot so much I'm not even sure what to do about them! Ugh.
westiemom, sorry about the arguing. That would be frustrating to figure out.
My aunt got Ridley a bunch of those baby legs/leg warmer things and they just roll up because her legs are so fat. It's kind of hilarious.
I also got her a new toy this weekend that's this cube thing that has buttons and sings and whatnot so she has something to play with while she's sitting up and omg the songs are so awful. Like next level awful. Even for a kids toy.
westiemom I'd be telling my H to suck it up and do the commute because there would be no way in hell I would be carting a baby and everything a baby needs between two houses for six months. But I come from the land of long commutes. Where if you work in the city(Toronto) but don't live in it you're looking at an hour commute at minimum, it doesn't matter what direction you're driving in from.
I would think that if the diaper rash was a reaction to oat that she would probably also have a rash elsewhere. I would lay off the solids that you aren't sure she is okay with and try oat again in a few days.

The funny thing is his commute is already brutal.... he should be used to it!

@led, have you tried the Terro ant bait? It will seem like it's doing nothing for a while, then you'll have 100x more ants than before (just leave them be), and then you'll be ant free after a couple days.

We have the worst singing toy. It's a rocking horse and it has an old mans voice and sings a song called "I'm a pretty pony".

Oh they do. It's already started! Damn dog in the triangle.

I have not. I've always used Raid. I'll have to look into them. Thanks!

Raid kills ants immediately. Any ants you see will die. The Terro traps kill them slowly - the ants take the poison back to the ant hill and THEN they die. And hopefully everyone with those stinkers. And usually they die somewhere else, so you don't have ant corpses to deal with.
I hate ants. I want them dead, dead, dead and gone, gone, gone.
