Weight: 17 lb 14 Oz. Length: Doc said 19.25 inches butttt I think he meant 29.25. Considering DS was 21.5" at birth and has only gotten longer lol Head circumference: I don't think he measured
How did the visit go? Not too bad.
Any concerns you brought up? Just the cold. But he said it was probably nothing to worry about. He's a very dismissive doctor.
We don't have ours for a couple weeks but I got the reminder and some papers in the mail today. There's a 6 page assessment this time (normally they just send a short questionnaire to fill out so they know what you wish to discuss). I guess shit's getting real now on development stuff..
We are a few weeks late so like a 9 1/2 month appt
Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz `25% With the amount of food she eats I was surprised it wasn't more.
Length: 26 1/2 - 5% The doc suspects she may have been measured wrong at her last appt actually.
Head circumference: 18 1/2 98%
How did the visit go? Good. She got her 2nd flu shot, so that was sad, but otherwise she is just fine.
Any concerns you brought up?
I asked about her scalp since it's still so flaky and he said I could use dandruff shampoo. Rob gave her a bath tonight and used his man shampoo so she smells like a man now lol.
I also asked about her eyes since they seem to get goop in the corners more than normal and he said they don't worry about until a year at least. I'm not worried about it though.

Appointment was yesterday. Weight: 19 lbs 9 oz, 73% Length: 27.5 in, 44% Head circumference: 18.25 inches, 97% She got one vaccination and she took it like a champ, only crying for a few minutes. The doctor said she can see 3 more top teeth about to make an appearance, so we are bracing ourselves for a rough few weeks. I asked about DD's new habit of crying hysterically when she poops, and apparently the extra saliva while teething makes poop more acidic and it probably burns on the way out. Unpleasant but normal.
Weight: 17 lbs, 4 oz (35th percentile) Length: 27 in (26th percentile) Head circumference: 16.6 in (11th percentile- she has DH's small head.)
How did the visit go? Good. She was happy through most of it, except for when the dr had to clean some wax out of her ears so he could get a better look. She cried more at that part than the flu shot.
Any concerns you brought up? She had been pulling at one of her ears a little while she had a cold, but the pedi got a good look and said it's clear. Hard to believe that the next appt will be when she's ONE.
And we all know the big teeth issue that was brought up
Haha oh yes, the teeth issue. I felt like this was the age where I started to do a little "yessing" of the pediatrician... and a little eye rolling when I got in the car...
And we all know the big teeth issue that was brought up
Is this a FB thing that I'm missing or did I miss a post re:teeth?
Pedi said to brush teeth after all nursing, including right before bed. Lots of big nopes to that. Can't you just get an account for our group?! Plllleeeeaaaassseee!?
Also, apunicorn, 25lbs is still 99%?! I was starting to wonder if X was getting close to the chart, but I guess not.

I think the chart must be different for boys and girls, boys tend to be bigger. That said in pretty sure X is off the charts Yay for big babies! You're in size 5 diaper too right?
Weight: 18.5lbs (she was 18lbs 6oz a month ago so didn't gain a lot, but she's a crawler now) 57th percentile Length: 27.75" 55th percentile Head circumference: 18.5" 99th percentile
How did the visit go? I love her new pedi! She's so so nice. And encouraging. And L was awesome and fun and pleasant. No fussing at any point.
Any concerns you brought up? Nope. Just informed her that she doesn't sleep, still, ever.
Side note: DS was 20lbs 11oz and 28" at his 6mo. He was WAY bigger by this point. I can't believe he was so much larger! She's so tiny (in comparison).
Head 18.5 inches (doc didn't give us a percentile, probably because he's still off the charts)
Only concern was the foreskin adhesion I already talked about. We talked about bottle weaning (between 12 and 18 months, or sooner if he's ready), milestones (on track with everything), and last week's rash (probably not HFMD, in hindsight). We were one day early for the second dose of influenza, so he'll get it later this month at sister's appointment.

A day early by what measure? 28 or 30/31 days? I juuuuust squeaked our first part in in time for DD's 9 month appointment to be 28 days later for part 2, but I realize it might not be the "month" they're looking for.
musicalsilver, I thought they would use the 28 day measure, which is why I scheduled the appointment when I did. But he said it had to be a calendar month. So since he got his first dose October 12, he couldn't get the second dose on November 11. Stupid 🙄

Odd! Since October was 31 days, October 12-November 11 would be 30 days.

So I just looked up the guidelines ... and the CDC says "at least 28 days". So boo on your pediatrician! I'll definitely be pushing to get ours at our appointment on Friday since it'll be 29 days!

I was pretty sure that's what the CDC guidelines were. I didn't want to be pushy about it but grrr, annoying.

Weight: 22 lb 15.8 oz. I'm worried he lost a little weight from norovirus and/or crawling. I thought he was 23+ lbs. 91%
Length: 30 ¾" !!!!!!! >99%
Head circumference: 50 cm (near 20") still off the charts.
How did the visit go? He's anemic because I don't feed him enough solids or iron rich foods. They referred him to a neuro at Children'a to check on his head. "He'll keep waking to nurse as long as you keep nursing him at night. He needs to sleep more."
Any concerns you brought up? I asked about his head. He's also been constipated from this iron fortified oatmeal I had been giving him.
I feel like a failure. I'm not feeding him enough real foods and I'm ruining his sleep.
You are not a failure britterrss. Don't ever think that. You aren't ruining his sleep, some babies just wake up during the night, H did until she was a year old. In regards to the solids, H also refused to eat them until she was like 9/10 months and her doctor didn't seem concerned about it at all. You're doing the best you can.
britterrss I feel weird suggesting things to you since this is your industry, but have you tried feeding him other iron foods like lentils, beef, spinach, etc? I don't think they have quite the same constipation effect since it's "natural" iron. Also, maybe you could mix prunes in the oatmeal?
That being said, you are an excellent mama. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Just a few minor tweeks.

I give him spinach all the time. But I do need to do more meats. I'm going to buy some prune purée today. That's a great idea about mixing it into the oatmeal. Thank you!

Thank you. Good to hear of other babies that were/are in the same boat!
Hah @britterrss DS is still up 2-4 times a night. And I still nurse most of those. My dr wasn't concerned about that at all. Actually at his 7 month (our 6 month was late) apt when he wasn't even reliably sleeping 3 hour streatches (thanks teething and sleep regression) the dr was more concerned about the effects it might have on me.
