I feel like winner because I was able to rock my little girl to sleep instead of nursing her to sleep. I don't know if this an actual win, but that's what I'm claiming. Now I'm cozy under said sleeping baby and I'm starving! Send something good!
This morning flew by. ILs are due in momentarily and I'm in my bathrobe (I did get a shower) nursing C.
C did not have a great night and was awake for much of it. Ugh. Of course she's napped beautifully this a.m! On the plus side, B has been my little rockstar today and the last couple days--so helpful, patient and just *good*.

Hahaha, I quickly read this as you were nursing C in the shower. I was like, whoa, that is a whole new level of multi-tasking.
I have a house full of sickies, even the almost 3 week old is incredibly congested :/. We did manage to get out and get a Christmas tree. It was nice doing it today so that we could beat the after Thanksgiving rush. Of course I would just as soon have a pre lit fake tree, a really one becomes such a chore: it's never straight per my H, H sucks at lights so I have to do them, the needles, the watering, the getting it out of the house... But for H it's a must so here we are.
In other news I am in my pre pregnancy pants weeee! Don't be jealous I apparently just gain my weight elsewhere, but as much as I despise maternity pants I am so glad I can put on my real pants instead. I still can't wear my wedding rings though which makes me very sad.

I haven't tried on my normal pants yet. I don't want to give up my maternity pants. I'm definitely wearing them tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Maybe this weekend I'll attempt normal clothes.

So hungry. Everything in this house has some form of soy or dairy in it and I refuse to go to the grocery store the day before thanksgiving to change that.
I love that gif jubilantsquirrel I do not miss those days one bit.

Are there any tricks to getting rid of hiccups? E gets them all the time. All I try to do is pat her back like I'm burping her or feed her again. Patting doesn't seem to work and I don't really want to feed her all day long.

C gets hiccups all the time and the only thing that makes them go away is feeding or they just go away on their own. The worst is when he gets them right after he eats and it causes him to spit up.

Infant photos are done! Holy cow I forgot how much work that is. We were there 3 hours with both kids. Thankfully they both cooperated for the most part. She took some beautiful shots of him with a "rainbow" theme using scarves and a hat that were stunning. I can't wait to see them!
It snowed here last night so DS1 and DH are out shoveling and playing in it. Then I think family nap time for all of us if DS1 cooperates.
How far are people traveling? DHs parents are 2 hours away and we told them we weren't coming last night. They aren't pleased but I'm just not ready for a long car ride and overnight with my 9 day old. People are so weird about stuff like this around the holidays. Really no understanding??
shedreamsincolor Glad your photo session went well! Yes, it's definitely an undertaking. We had ours done yesterday; I think I'm most excited about the ones of DS with the baby. I was trying not to hover but to my untrained eye they looked beautiful!
aggiebug good job on the pants! hopefully your rings will fit again soon. It's weird, I felt like I retained more water (after delivery) this time than I did with DS. My rings got tight, my feet looked like Fred Flintstone's and shoes were more snug, etc. I think it's *finally* clearing out.
I'm sitting here eating ice cream under a nursing baby. ILs arrived and took DS outside to play. Luckily DH got home early (I wasn't optimistic) so between the 3 of them hopefully I'll get a nap. DH really deserves one, too, he was up just as much as I was--if not more-- with C last night.

FFWC: I fully intend on wearing maternity pants to Thanksgiving every year going forward whether pregnant or not.
Both our babies also get the hiccups frequently. From what I understand it's more annoying/upsetting to us than it is to them *supposedly* they don't even care.
Adeline will not let me put her down. This is so rough. Esp so because it's not just her, I want to bond with Alec too and it's like never possible bc she screams if I hand her off or put her down. In all fairness H is amazing with the babies but he is still perfecting the kind of gentle rock and stroll/pace, and doesn't really cradle them super tight and close. I try to help him but he takes it like he's not doing a good job. Seriously? Don't be so hard on yourself, you've never been around tiny newborns or done this and I'm by no means an expert and I'm totally a FTM but I worked in a daycare and have like 13 neices and nephews plus younger siblings. Poor guy

Today was H's first day back at work (he actually worked yesterday, but it was one of his scheduled telework days, so he took the bigs to school and picked them up, which made it much less crazy for me). Today, I had to get all the kids ready to leave the house, feed them breakfast, and put together lunch and snacks. Then I loaded everyone into the van, drove the two older kids to school, came home, waited about 30 minutes, then loaded the three littles into the van, drove the 3 year old to preschool, then came home. My new coffee maker arrived yesterday, so then I got to drink some coffee, fed the baby, put on a show for the 2 year old, and hung out for a couple of hours. Then we picked up kid 3 at preschool, went to the Dunkin Donuts with a drive through, got iced coffee, then drove to the elementary school to wait in the kiss n ride line for the bigs since they had a two hour early dismissal. Currently, all three of the older kids are playing video games while kid 4 watches Little Einsteins on Netflix, and I'm listening to the baby poop (loudly) in the rnp. He is constantly surprising me by not being finished when I go to change him, so I'm giving him a little extra time, and hopefully he'll get it all out.
Had 39 week appointment and everything seems good. I was given the warning that next appointment will be long (1.5 hours) while they do NST, ultrasound, and other things to make sure everything is good then I will be induced on Dec 2nd. I'm nervous that I'll be induced! Here's hoping I don't make that appointment!

I would give birth ten more times if they all went like my induction. But I'm hoping you don't make it that far either! Will your H be home all next week? I'm sorry if I missed you mentioning it already.

Hugs kleigh. I'm treasuring every single one of these baby cuddles, but I wouldn't completely if I could have a few minutes to get stuff done. You're amazing to be able to do this with two.

I just want to cuddle them both and it's soooo hard because she's so fussy and screams if I skin to skin both of them at the same time.

+1 for both my inductions. The OCD planner/control-freak in me loved the scheduled nature of them, despite having to wait til 40+ weeks.
Hang in there cheshie6, I hope baby will make an appearance sooner than later so your H has as much time with him/her as possible!
