Warning - rant ahead- My ILs (the whole family) are coming to meet DS2 today. So far only DHs parents have met him but his siblings haven't. Of course, they are all coming at 3 (in the middle of nap) and staying for supper. Are any of them bringing food? Nope. This is exactly what I want to do - host dinner for 8 people at 10 days postpartum. His family is so freaking clueless and it drives me nuts.
shedreamsincolor, you are way nicer than me! Good luck with dinner!
Nm going on with me today, maybe finish up decorating the tree, DH will do upper level lights on outside of house (it was rainy/misty yesterday), otherwise just snack and eat leftovers. Lol

Well last night was fun.
Yesterday afternoon I noticed that I kept feeling wet and when I would check my underwear would be pretty damp. It didn't smell like urine, so I decided to call the doctors office and they of course sent me to triage. We were there for about an hour before the amniotic fluid test thing came back negative. I have no bladder control now.
Anyway, they told me I was having contractions every 3-4 minutes. I hadn't noticed any earlier but once they pointed them out I could feel them. They were pretty mild though. The checked me and I was 2cm, same as my last 3 appointments. Since I have a history of rapid labor she suggested I walk for an hour and come back. I knew it was pointless but did it anyway. Came back and no change, but still having contractions. We left the hospital and went to dinner and the contractions definitely got more intense, but nothing I felt I could get excited over. Came home and took a shower and laid in bed to monitor them. They were coming every 3-5 minutes still but really hadn't changes much in intensity. I was able to fall asleep and I woke up at about 3am and they had pretty much stopped. So yay.
TL;DR, I pee my pants a lot now and I'm going to be pregnant forever.
We needed to get the toddler out today so we headed to a big park about 45 min from our house. It's 46 degrees and windy, my H just has a long sleeve shirt on. Haha he is chilly.
jubilantsquirrel, I was wondering about you yesterday! Sorry no baby yet but I'm with you, I'm going to be pregnant forever. Is it just the 2 of us waiting?

I think there's one more, but I believe she has an induction scheduled for tomorrow.

We're all hanging out on the couch getting ready for the Michigan game. C passed out right before it started of course. I got a couple cute pictures with C and Gracie though.
shedreamsincolor well that's just ridiculous. Can you order food instead of cooking? Ask one of them to pick it up; that might give them the message for future occasions.
jubilantsquirrel you need to spend all day walking, on the stairs or squatting. It's time for this baby to along!

shedreamsincolor, I second this! That's a lot to expect from a mom whose home with a 10-day old.

shedreamsincolor Um no. That is not cool. I'd probably just order some pizza. I barely want to cook for the three of us let alone other people. And I'm also not interested in people being in my house period for more than an hour maybe.
goldenlove3 We are watching the Michigan game, too.
We just got home. I'm cuddling the milk drunk newborn while DS naps upstairs. H is making me some coffee with Bailey's, and after that I might try to nap. Today is a good day.
Hey I have a question. Does anyone else notice a mild odor around their LO's umbilical cord stump? Everything I've read says signs of infection include foul smelling discharge, but there's no discharge, just the faint smell. Is it something I need to call the pedi about?

E's smelled awful for the last two days. When it finally fell off I couldn't believe the smell coming from the stump and baby. Once I got her cleaned it no longer smelled but it did take a few days to fully heal.
Ahhahaha why is my almost w year old crying? Because she is hungry and wants yogurt. Because we opened the yogurt, because we out the lid back on the yogurt, because she can't get the lid off the yogurt. Because she is hungry.
Worst part about my toddlers tantrums? My boobs let down. This could be a long year of BFing if that keeps up.

dashook - DS2s stump has a definite odor. I feel like it's getting worse as time goes on but no other symptoms like redness or discharge. I think it's more just that it's dead tissue that's been on there awhile and needs to fall off!
ILs are here. I'm totally ordering pizza for them. They know how I feel about illness and vaccines. SIL has a cold (which she's doing a poor job of hiding) and neither of my BILs got their flu shots. So pissed right now. I'll say something to DH later but I'm guessing that conversation won't go well. I can't say anything about his family without him getting defensive as hell.
@ahedreamsincolor, oh hells no!! Is YH not on the same page as you on the health/disease topic? Or is this the only time they can see baby and live 4+ hours away so they won't have another time to visit? (As in they can't drop in on another day when they feel better or get vaccinated)
starbuck27 :::waves frantically::: Hiiiii !!!! So we're both still above water, this is good, this is very good. Hope those babies give those boobies a rest tonight !
Thinking of Sophiegrace too! I was gonna mention this earlier. Hopefully she's doing well and M's gassiness is improving.

shedreamsincolor No way! That's not cool at all. Not only showing up expecting you to host them but they're sick too?? Ugh.
buckyb I had my first beer at dinner last night. It was really, really good. I'm surprised I didn't get a buzz but I did only have 12 oz and drank a lot of water with it.

I started having contractions again at about 11am, they went from 10 minutes apart to 5 minutes apart over the course of a couple hours. They stayed at 5 minutes for about a half hour and then went back to 10 mins, then 15 before finally stopping altogether. They stopped for about 3 hours and have just started again at about 12 minutes apart. I think they're getting slightly more intense, but that could just be wishful thinking.
This is all so different than how things went with DS. I'm happy to know that at least something is going on in there at least.
