packmomma N cries some mornings at drop off and I think they try different stuff until something works. Are the same people in there at certain times? It could be good for him to go when one certain person is there.
I think one of the ladies is always there in the morning but I'll definitely check. Thanks for the idea.
Now to get shoes to fit over these guys. We went to Target on the way home, and nothing there. As I was reading the brochure for the orthotics I saw that they had a shoe line. H and I started laughing that they're probably super expensive so o decided to check the website out. Yeah, we're ordering the shoes.
packmomma you gotta leave him there and let him cry.
I did. Today we just did a 30 minute drop off because we had the LLL meeting but tomorrow I'm going to try to leave him for an entire class. Last time they had to come get me though. I do just let them handle it because I know he needs to figure it out. Question: when he's screaming like that he refuses all distractions (water, crayons, tag blanket),anything you would recommend they try?
Snacks. Preferably highly desirable ones that he only gets at day care. At this age I think we started giving things like little boxes of raisins (supervised). Lots of other snacks could work too.
You could also present a novel activity, like if he hasn't had many experiences with crayons, markers, paint, etc.. and the child care staff is willing to do it with him.
Stickers and mini slinky's (available in the Target dollar bins) are also pretty appealing at this age.
@mrspanpan With a 5:10am wakeup time, I'd be inclined to go check on him, maybe change his diaper, and if there is no obvious problem, tell him it's not wake up time and that he needs to lay down and go back to sleep. Then attempt CIO if you can deal with it. If you're feeling generous, you could do some brief part of his nap/bedtime routine to cue him that it's still time to sleep. I suspect that CIO may be the most effective solution though.
I could not handle a 5am start to my day. No way. I hope tomorrow morning is better.
I went to a conference today and it was the first time since Abigail was born that I was away from her for a full work day (I usually work afternoons only and am home with the kids in the morning). It was wonderful. The conference was surprisingly good and I got to catch up with a good friend that I don't get to see that often.
I managed to put Abigail to bed without nursing tonight (2nd time in the past 4 nights). She literally waved to me after I put her in the crib and rolled over to go to sleep. Hooray! My plan is to continue to attempt bedtime without nursing but still accommodate her if she wants to.
I'm off to work on buying holiday gifts online before it gets too late tonight. I have to stop going to bed at midnight!
Headed to the y. There's a little play place in the lobby that I'm going to let w play with when we first get there. Hopefully that will make it a less abrupt transition.
so my company let go a sales guy yesterday. his territory is southeast fl. I am now in charge of all his projects, from Orlando. And i am in charge of informing all his clients that he was let go and i am now their contact. Fun times today. I think i would rather be in charge of firing someone.
Guys today went much better. He cried as soon as I started filling out the name tag but they said overall he was much better. Still crying for more than half the time but with bouts of smiles in between. They said the hardest time he has is when people drop off their kids. We'll try to go back tomorrow if I'm not too sore. I got to work out for an hour!!

ugh pink eye over here!!!! LAME. I have it and DD does. DH is home with her, and I am treating all four of us. LOL I was an idiot and didn't know what pink eye looked like and I put my contacts in directly after wiping her face.
On the plus side, I got a box of really nice chocolates from my office landlord and free breakfast at starbucks this morning. So fuck it. Lol it's gonna be a good day.
tuscanlatte, NOOOOOOOOO but yay for chocolates and free coffee. I hope the pink eye passes quickly!
packmomma, see this is your reason to never miss a session. He'll get used to the routine and then scream if you don't take him
I need to get back to crossfit but my shoulder is still jacked up. I slept on my neck wrong plus wore E waaay too long Saturday before last at Disney, couldn't move my neck at all for 3 days, then the pain moved down and has settled in my upper shoulder. It feels like a nerve is pinched and it's not getting better. Don't know if the doctor can even do anything. Gaaaahh.
kaeguri for real! I totally want him to like the place. The classes they offer are amazing and they have date nights for parents. We could really use a night off....or 10 I hope your shoulder feels better. A chiropractor might be able to help.
