I'm thankful that G slept from 11:30-5:15! I actually slept most of that time too. I'm thankful that MH stopped and got me iced tea to quench my thirst. MH is taking N to get our Christmas tree today and do some other shopping. I want to run to Michaels to get some frames for gifts later if I can.
I am thankful that (I think) we finally turned the corner with RSV. These last 48 hours have been the scariest and most exhausting I've had as a mama. He didn't need to sleep on our chests last night and did 3 hour stretches in his cosleeper. This also means that I'm thankful for getting more than 3 hours of sleep like I had been the past two nights.
Also thankful for coffee and a house with heat. It is bitter cold and blustery here today.
DS2 slept 8:30-2:30, then back down easy and up at 5;30 and 7:30. Now DS1 woke me up at 12:30 and 6:30 but one of these days I'll get longer than 3 hours at a time!
I'm so glad he's starting to feel better, jcrewgirl!
I'm thankful that DS slept from 8pm to 11:30pm, ate and went right back to sleep, and then slept until 6am. And he took a 3 1/2 hour nap at daycare yesterday... from 12:30 - 4... in a crib! I thought for sure he wouldn't sleep last night because of how late his nap was. I hope this isn't a total fluke and we're starting to turn a corner in the sleep department.
Oh, and if any of you ladies with older kids haven't heard of the Portable North Pole website, you have to check it out. I've been sending videos to my kids from it for years and they've gotten so good. I pay the $9 to access the premium videos because it's so worth it. My kids get so excited when they get their santa video.

jcrewgirl Glad to hear your DS is doing better. Hope both you a day he can get some good rest in soon.
jwinct I love the PNP videos, use to send them to my young cousins every year.
I am grateful to be feeling better and not sick and that my sister has been staying over the last few days to help with DS so I could catch a break. Grateful I had all those frozen meals to pull on this week as well.
Most grateful for my kiddo STTN!!! He did 8 to 4 then 4:30 to 7! Hope this becomes the standard.

I'm thankful for HL sleeping well. She is such a good sleeper. I haven't said anything because I don't want to jinx it. AG was the total opposite.
I'm thankful for friends and family being understanding that I am going through some things right now. They might not get all of it, but they try.
I'm thankful for new furniture and a new stove (hopefully being delivered tomorrow). Even if I could've timed the purchases better. H is worried our stove is going to burn down the house so I guess that wasn't a hasty purchase.
I'm thankful for the Wal-mart employee who was patient with me while I made a huge return on Sunday. Apparently I stress shop.
I'm thankful for H working so I can stay home with the girls, for his school being so kind (they gave him a bunch of toys for AG for Christmas), for his check being back to normal this pay period after being short from the HL's birth and NICU stay, and for the raise he is supposed to be getting.

Not done shopping and nothing is wrapped here!
I got up at 6 after I fed DS. He just woke up again and DD is still sleeping. It was nice to have some time to myself this morning. Might go to the library this morning, DD has preschool this afternoon. Going to run to Costco after I drop her off to pick up a few things.

I can't even remember what I got AG. It is all stashed in the closet somewhere. I know what I got HL thought, some baby gear I got rid of before and had to rebuy.
jcrewgirl so glad to hear that DS is turning a corner!!
Well...my day started off wonderful. DS1 had a complete meltdown at daycare drop of; screaming, tears, kicking, wailing for dad. All because his teacher and I were like, "Go get in line to wash your hands. Breakfast is here." He slept good last night and was fine this morning, so not sure why the epic tantrum. Over hand washing.
DS2 is feverish this morning. I'm assuming because of his shots. He also hasn't had much of an appetite. So far, he's not screaming and crying..that was yesterday, so that's good.
I'm still fired up about the family drama that went down yesterday, but thinking I'm done beating a dead horse.
OTOH, on the way home from daycare the sky was absolutely beautiful. The sun was peaking out although we were still having some lake effect snow squalls, so there were visible rainbows in the clouds on either side of the sun. 🌈🌈
-thankful for our warm house. It was 6* this morning with a subzero windchill. -thankful for vaccines. Would rather have a feverish, fussy baby than one with Pertussis. Or Polio. Or anything else these wonderful vaccines prevent. -thankful for our daycare. Despite the meltdown this morning, DS1 loves it. He has learned way more there than I could ever teach him at home. Thankful there are special people that want to do that job. I can't imagine being stuck in a room with however many toddlers all day and still coming out on the other side with said toddlers knowing their colors in Spanish and my sanity in tact. -thankful for Diet Pepsi, as per. -of course thankful for MH and all that he does for us without complaint. -thankful for my boys
Thankful DD didn't spike a fever after shots yesterday. DS never did so I was hoping the trend continued.
I'm thankful for coffee. DS was up awake more than usual last night and momma got no sleep. We really need to figure out how to get him to go back to sleeping through the night on his own in his own room.
Thankful that DDs gas from yesterday seems to have subsided and she slept well last night. Totally thankful for heat because man it is cold out! Oh, and thankful for being almost done shopping and wrapping for Christmas! I wrote out responses 3 times yesterday on the Wednesday thread, but kept getting distracted by DD and never posted them. Couple errands today then parking my butt in front of the TV with loads of wrapping paper to finish that up. My boss is being such a dink regarding my work schedule when I go back. I was relying on my sister to watch DS on Fridays prior to having DD. Well, she got a job (yay for her!) so now I am stuck scrambling for coverage. My daycare isn't open on Fridays, and I would rather not find another provider for one day a week. I asked to work from home on Fridays (4 hour day), and he is giving me so much push back. I am in marketing so it is not imperative for me to be physically in the office. I would just need my laptop. So I am waiting to hear back after stating my case that I am sort of between a rock and a hard place... ugh.

Mostly shopped and wrapped over here. I need to finish getting stocking stuffers, I feel that's a bit harder at this point. I have a stocking MIL made for DS and no clue what to put in it for a new dude. Gonna go to World Market, that's always a good place to stop by.
Anyone else love wrapping presents? When I worked at Williams Sonoma eight years ago, I loved it when I got put on wrap duty...
I still have some presents coming in the mail that I'll have to wrap but I have to stay on top of it. On Hs side he has a brother and two sisters - two are married with kids and 4 step siblings plus split parents. On my side there's 6 adults and 5 kids to buy for plus daycare teacher/hair salon/ mail gifts plus some gfs and I always exchange gifts - so that's 4 more... I wish I could break the cycle and just say NO.

Most presents are bought but not wrapped. I'm waiting on a couple of things from Etsy and need to buy some gift cards. I hope to get MH's wrapped on Sunday while he's at work. He and I can do the rest on Monday while N is at school. I love those Santa sacks; maybe I'll get them for next year.
I just emptied all of the newborn clothes out of the dresser for my sister. I told her she could use them and pass them along once her baby outgrows them. She asked me if I was sure I wouldn't need them again, and I laughed in her ear.
I am mostly done with shopping. A few things still need to arrive from Amazon and I need to make a run for some small gifts for DH, "from the kids" of course. 😉 Nothing is wrapped.
becole I hear you on wishing you could say no. It sounds bah-humbug-ish, but I wish my sisters and I could stop with the gift giving. All anyone wants is gift cards anyway, so why bother? Oh and on big families: MH is one of 5, everyone is married with children. There's 17 neices and nephews and his siblings refuse to do a gift 1:1 gift exchange of any kind. So, yeah. We buy for 17 kids every year. It's nuts.
DS found a guitar a while ago and keeps asking- where's my guitar? I keep saying it's for christmas! Definitely can't be a Santa gift now.
I also have to use different wrapping paper from Santa this year. Two year olds are too damn smart.
We do this too. Or rather, I do this. I told DH last year about the different wrapping paper and he ignored me and used our regular stuff and I was PISSED. DS1 was almost 5 years old last Christmas so definitely old enough to understand and recognize. I think what made me the most upset is I went out of my way to get the different paper and gift tags, set it out for him and everything, and then he just didn't care to do it. Needless to say it sparked a huge argument last year and I don't think he'll be making that mistake this time.
