Chase woke up around 12:45 this time. I rubbed his back for a few minutes, trying to calm him enough that I could get a quick bathroom trip before going back to change his stinky diaper and then attempt to calm him. Except he was pretty dedicated to sleeping. I was up for an hour just listening to him coughing, but he managed through. And Saturday is my sleep in morning because of running group, so it worked out okay. Only I can hear coughing down the hall and the monitor isn't popping on, so Col must be a mess as well. We're going to be so fun this weekend! LOL.

We have gymnastics and a bang trim on our agenda this morning. I stopped at the dollar store yesterday and got hats, noisemakers, and party poppers....Not for midnight, maybe for 8 or 8:30.
I also got some water beads there, so I'll let Cadence play with those this afternoon for a sensory activity.
Morning! We went out with my parents and sister last night and had a really nice time. That was our early New Years Eve celebration since tonight B is going over there for a 'slumber party'.
I just woke up a couple minutes ago. C went down easily last night and slept great. DH took my car in this morning for maintenance, and once the kids and I get ready we'll go pick him up at the dealership. We're staying in tonight and will just get yummy take-out and drink champagne. I don't love being out on the roads at night on holidays like this.
They slept better but still not great. Dh is still being an ass. And doesn't want to go to the aquarium. I'm taking them anyway so now he's pissed more. Whatever.
I don't blame him! I kinda cringe at taking sick kids to a place like that. Not only cause they'll spread germs, but I always feel like when your sick your immune system is down and you're much more likely to catch something else.

Morning! I hope all the sick kids feel better today!
I saw that Netflix is doing a fake countdown for nye. We will do that at 9 for the kids. Not much planned today. Gymnastics. Carter is having a friend over 11. I need to run to the liquor store for supplies for pomegranate margaritas for tonight.

He doesn't want to go because he's tired.
I still wouldn't take my sick kids to the aquarium..
My running group is the best. I fell behind this week on my 2000 mile goal thanks to Chase's sleep issues. I needed 10 to finish off the year but wasn't in the mood and we usually do 8 this time of year. So they made up an easy 10 mile route on the spot and we all did it together. I love them.

MH just left with the first car loaded to go home and get organized at home. We were going to leave after naptime, but my sis decided to stay an extra day, so we will go to a kids event at 3 with them. They have kids fireworks at 5:30, so we will prob leave after that.
2016 hasn't been my favorite year (besides N's arrival), so I am glad it's about over..Hoping 2017 is a better.
JoeLies, were you always a runner? I'm in awe of your dedication to it.
I started running marathons in 2004. I ran before that, but never very consistently. Now it's my me time and kind of my form of meditation. I need it, haha.
PBK backpack question...do I want the pre-k size or small size? I would like it to fit a standard size folder in it because daycare sends one home every Friday with stuff in it. Her current backpack is a bit small for the folder so it gets folded a bit which annoys me. And most of the other backpacks I have found at target or Walmart look like they could swallow S whole. Lol.
My neice and nephew have pbk backpacks that are TINY! They only fit toys. I'm not sure which size they have though.
We have the LL Bean toddler backpack and I like the size a lot. It could fit a folder.
We went out to breakfast at a little diner down the road, yum! I took H grocery shopping and it wasn't as crazy busy as I was anticipating it being. I got some prosecco for the grown-ups and sparking apple for the kids. I'm excited to do a fake countdown as the kids and I will be in bed long before midnight because I have to work tomorrow.
C's got a friend over and that's keeping her out of trouble. H is down with DH in the basement and I'm having a (probably short-lived) quiet moment to myself.

B has the pre-k size and its tiny. I'd def get the larger one. We got it last year and it still fits him well but I'll upsize him next year. It is not tall enough to hold a folder; it's basically big enough for either a change of clothes, or his lunchbox--but not both.
lfigge, We got C the regular side LL Bean backpack (the single pocket) and it works well and hold her folder perfectly. I like how it's also guaranteed for life if the zipper ever broke or whatever.
Am I the only one who is attempting to make it to midnight with atheist kids? We will be at my sister's.
I'm not sure what you were going for, but this cracked me up. Unless staying up with atheist kids is different than with really religious kids. I admit, I wouldn't know.

Hi guys! I get to work today, yay! DH is taking the kids over to a friend's house and after I get off work at 10 I'm running home to change and then heading over there to ring in the new year. This morning DH left to run an errand while I was still sleeping with S. H took that time to dump out all my flour, sugar, salt and pancake mix. I was not pleased.

Haha, apparently "all the" is the same as atheists.
