I just ordered the Ok to Wake Alarm Clock. Those who use it, did you explain to your kid when it is ok to call for you/get out of bed before it turns green, or just trust that if they really need you, they'll get you?
Morning. All is quiet here! B climbed into my bed at 6:30 but fell back asleep at some point. C woke up around 7:30, nursed, and fell back asleep. I'm drinking my coffee in peace and figuring out what we can do today. I'm going to keep B home from school since he's still coughing and generally a snotty mess.
Just called pedi and am taking B in at 9:30. He woke up and I'm just not seeing enough improvement in his cough. wedding I'm beginning to think you may have been right when you suggested bronchitis, I just don't think a normal cold would have lasted this long. So we shall see...
Morning! Preschool day. I was up too late last night so I might see if S will let me take a nap after drop off. She's still got a fever but I think she's starting to feel better because she's not been super clingy to me today so far. I need to make some calls today to the billing dept for the doctors to see if they can resubmit the claims from this month to our insurance.

Not too much going on here. WFH at the moment. I just ordered a booster seat for C. I really am dying to throw out our high chair once and for all. After 2 kids, it just looks totally disgusting.
I also bought tickets to take B to see Disney on Ice in 2 weeks. I am really excited about it and think she is going to love it.
mwhipple77, N has been doing this too, along with a lot of baby talk. Most of the time I just ignore it because she usually does it while playing. It she talks to me like that I tell her to talk like a big girl because I can't understand her. She does make me laugh with what she comes up with though!
Morning. N woke up with a hoarse cough this morning. No fever so she went to daycare. Not sure if she'll last all day. I probably should have kept her home, but hoping she'll feel better. I should probably take both kids in to the doctor just for good measure.

Yes, on the baby talk too. She still watches those damn bad baby videos so I think that is where she is getting it from. So annoying. I tell her I don't understand babies when they talk, so she needs to talk like a big girl.

Morning. Took us 2.5 hours from J's wakeup to dropoff at school. I am losing my mind dealing with him. Going to see how much I can angry clean before she wakes up.
Ok, not bronchitis...apparently what started as a cold morphed into an EI, plus has been hanging on in his chest. So he's going to start an antibiotic that will hopefully knock this stuff out for good.
TBH, I didn't realize they could still get EIs-post tubes. B never had ear infections *before* tubes, so it's ironic that he has one now. He hasn't been complaining of ear pain so on the upside at least it wasn't bothering him, I guess.
Re: baby talk. Colin and his best friends at school speak to each other in gibberish sometimes. I don't worry too much about it, they all do plenty of actual talking on top of that.
Morning. It's snowing here, hopefully not much since I'm in the office. I had a return blood draw this morning, as a follow-up to my physical. I have to go again in 2 months since my initial draw (about 6 weeks ago) was all wonky. I'm hopeful it was just off because the pneumonia wasn't too far behind me, but we'll see.

Dude just had his first EI since getting tubes 2 years ago in October. Tubes are still in though. The ruptured eardrum was a surprise.
I think I remember kellykinns' Doug still getting at least two or three within a relatively short time after having the tubes placed.
This EI after tube talk is not making me happy. I'm hoping S doesn't continue to get them after her tubes. I have heard that they are less painful and easier to treat since you just use drops.

We went about 27-28 months EI free after tubes. The procedure itself was super easy. Try not to worry.
She could be unlucky and keep getting them, but most kids get a lot of relief.
I know this has been talked about but I wasn't paying attention. What do you give your LOs with a cough/sore throat? daycare just called and N isn't doing great so I'll be picking her up soon. She has that type of cough that just sounds really painful on her throat. I gave her Motrin this morning because it was all I had. Zarbees? Something different?

J has reverted to mama and Dada lately and suddenly back into board books after months of boycotting them. We have also heard him talk to his Chinese friend and it is a bit awkward...We think he's trying to speak Chinese, but is just him making random sounds.

Yes, the pedi said that under normal circumstances we could just use drops, but because of the other symptoms he's got, she prescribed a stronger antibiotic.
The ear hasn't been bothering him and when I ask him if it hurts he says 'no', so I think the tube is doing its job and draining the fluid, there was just a ton of it and it got infected.

Hi!!! Doug never had tubes, although I feel like he may have been a candidate. Right now Finn is on his 4th ear infection in 4 months and we are on day 14 of antibiotics, because he was omnicef for the third time and it wasn't working. So we're on Augmenten (sp?) and if he gets another one after this we're talking tubes I think. Unless it's like in 6 months I guess.
