Ahhhh can't wait to see a baby Jack update @justinslovo! Hope it's smooth sailing for you today.
I'm pretty sure my kids want me to suffer. They've been waking before 6 everyday this week. H gets them right away usually, but he went to the gym at 5:30 which I believe woke them, so I told them they have to stay in bed a while longer. Mama does not do mornings. My office day was pulled again at work so I'm stuck on the floor and my work will never get done on time. I'm really hating that place lately.
Good luck @justinslovo! I can't wait to see little baby Jack!
I'm working today. I still am feeling absolutely terrible. I've never felt so bad. Luckily I have just one stable patient right now as I'm already hiding and trying to drink some soda to give me some pep.
Last night we were suppose to have terrible storms and a moderate chance of tornadoes. Aside from some fallen trees and a couple of blown transformers nothing too bad happened in my area. I hate the severe weather in the middle of the night.
Dh is still sick and will likely be spending the day in bed.
catladymeow, that's basically how my hair looks today too. Ponytail it is!
AFM, there are supposed to be crazy storms here starting around the time the kids get out of school. And I'm supposed to teach my class tonight. Hoping maybe the center will decide to close so I can avoid being out during the tornado watch.
Sending lots of good thoughts your way for a smooth delivery @justinslovo!!!
We're having lots of crazy storms here too. We have a creek that runs through the woods behind our house and it's is so high and moving so fast. Sam has speech this morning but I'm assuming she'll be ages late because of traffic from said storms.
@justinslovo I hope you have a uncomplicated delivery! Can't wait to see pics of Baby Jack! wells2010 ugh bedside nursing is so hard when nauseous. Does anyone at your work know yet? I hope you start to feel better soon.
I have a meeting at work today so my parents are coming down to watch W.
A big oatmeal raisin cookie is the only thing I could stomach for breakfast this morning. I was so hungry I started eating it on the walk from the grocery store to my office. As I was munching away, a fit runner whizzed past me and gave me a snide look. We get it. You're better than everyone on earth, you run at 7am. But I win, because cookie
We are going to have thunderstorms later too. Wednesday's were going to be our "wander Wednesday's" and go out on fun adventures and trips, but the weather isn't cooperating so we will switch to "theatrical Thursday" and encourage dramatic play today. I'm so lame and clearly like a good play on words. But it's really giving me motivation to not sit on my ass on my phone all day while the girls play.
Im kinda upset that no major media outlets covered Trump signing H.R. 321 and H.R. 255. Obviously, he did nothing to contribute but sign, but these are super important bills that should get the recognition they deserve. I found nothing yesterday, and only a few articles today, mainly just making fun of the fact that Trump found 8 women to be around him. That's not the point! Meh!

pixiepink24 - if using play on words is what helps keep you motivated then it is not lame. It makes it sound exciting for the girls, too.
Thank you!! It really does! And it makes me feel happier and has had a positive effect on the girls as well. I'm just such a poster child for ADD with my lack of organization and focus, so this helps. I think some structure to our day can be nice since I'm always scatter brained.
My best friend and I several years ago, added ourselves to the bone marrow/stem cell registry through "Be the Match." About 3 1/2 years ago, Kara, my best friend, got the call that she was a potential match for someone. She got further testing and sure enough, perfect match. She donated stem cells - the process to do so was crazy. A little while later, she was able to exchange letters with the recipient, a mom of 3 little girls, battling leukemia. Kara got word that the recipient, after the donation was finally cancer-free and they got to meet. Kara drove down to North Carolina to be a part of her recipient's renewed wedding vows to her husband. It was the first time they met. Through it all, they realized they had the same birthday, and almost the same name, Kara, and Kari. Their families became close, and even spent time on vacation together in my and Kara's favorite place, the Outer Banks. Their friendship is truly special. I am so proud of Kara.
A few months ago, after 3 years of being cancer free, Kari found out that it returned. She has been receiving chemotherapy, but developed an infection, and was not able to recover. She passed this morning. Please keep Kari's family, especially those girls in your thoughts and prayers, and my friend Kara. She is absolutely devastated and I am hurting for her. I know how much Kari meant to her. I honestly believe Kara is an angel on earth, she literally gave someone the gift of life, 3 more years with her family. I hope she can take some sort of comfort in that through all this, but man, this is just so hard.
@katechristine18 That is so beautiful and so sad at the same time. So much courage with your friend and the woman she helped. I'm so sorry. I'm sure this is especially hard on your friend. Positive thoughts for everyone!

I want to know when he does something not completely insane and shitty. Thank you for posting this! I haven't checked my news stuff this morning.
@katechristine18 what a heartbreaking story, and what an incredible thing your friend did for a complete stranger.
I've been MIA lately. I am trying to make an effort to check in more regularly.
MH is in Hong Kong and will be gone for a whole month doing a research fellowship. Solo parenting is hard work. I tried to go grocery shopping with E after dinner yesterday but she was tired and cranky and hungry (because she refused to eat dinner) so I got to be one of those moms running around the store with a screaming child in her grocery cart. Also this morning she had a meltdown when we got in the door at daycare. I hope this won't be the theme for the next 30 days.
That's such a sweet, but heartbreaking, story @katechristine18. Hope your friend and K's family find some peace.
kasiaskis, H and I both find it easier the longer the other one is away. I hope you guys hit your groove! Do you have online grocery shopping available? That might make things easier; I dislike grocery shopping with the kids in the best of circumstances. We do an online order with pick up once a week. That usually leaves things so that we can just pick up an extra gallon of milk while we're at Target or the pharmacy and avoid the grocery store entirely.
Yesterday's outing was a success! Yummy burgers, fun shopping at Target, stopped, at the grocery and got Stoffers chicken enchiladas, which were pretty good (not homemade good, but good enough). Then we bought Moana for the kids movie night. The only downside was the tornado warnings coming threw in the middle of the night (about 10:30pm). We got the kids up and went into the basement until it passed. Of course after that DD stayed up until 2am. Today we'll just hang out, do some laundry, then church tonight for Ash Wednesday.

Oh wow @katechristine18, what a lovely and sad story.
Sending good vibes to you kasiaskis...solo parenting for a month sounds like no joke.
We are going to see a condo tonight. I'm a bit unsure of it as the second bedroom is only 8x8. The rest of it seems like a good size. I can see having one kid in an 8x8 room but what if we have another? Can two kids share an 8x8 room for a few years? Is that crazy talk? It has a lovely 300 square foot terrace and is on the top floor and is 50k cheaper than bigger places so those are drawing me to at least take a look.
