LO slept from 7-11, 11:30-3 & then from 4-7. I feel like a new woman.
My friend who's a photographer wants to take some newborn/lifestyle pictures of us on Friday so I'm going to run to town to shop for an outfit for LO and myself. I don't really need a new outfit but this seems like a good excuse to go shopping.

DH let me sleep last night and I got 5 solid hours.
I then wake up to a stink bug crawling in my hair with my cat ready to attack me then after DH took care of it, he let me know that there is someone trying to abduct women (one attempt was where I used to live, about 2 miles away from me) and asked me not to go out on my own since I am still recovering. No problem, 3 flights of stairs to go in/our of my condo is a huge deterrent right now. dancerspose - Wanted to make sure you are aware.
After all of that, he tells me to go back to sleep. Haha, no.
My aunt will be coming to visit/help with babes today. Looking forward to her seeing babes. She wanted to come a while back but she was sick so no dice. Unsure if my other aunt will tag along or not. Both were gonna come for the original visit.
DH dropped a bomb last night. MIL wants to come and stay for an extended visit(weekend and part of the week). Shot down first date since it's the weekend before I return to work. Dreading this visit because she thinks she's a help but when you see a person holding a baby with its neck dangling due to zero support she's not gonna be a help to me if I'm unable to trust her with a baby alone. She's also the type that any experience you have she can on up and all conversations have to be about her. So conversation will be awesome too. 😳

It is so nice to be home. Sorry I've been MIA while we were at my parents, I tried to keep up and do some LTing. DS1 is still on his grandma schedule, waking up super early. We let him fuss in bed for a while to encourage him to return to his 7:30 wake up. He is very contentedly playing and he gets to go to Mother's Day out later. Yay! Especially since we have a mountain of laundry to do. DS2 is napping and was not affected at all by going to his grandparents, thank you Jesus. We are also going back to my parents' next week since I have a work thing in the area. Love mandatory work things on maternity leave.

I have 3 goals for today: a shower, call to make my 6-week pp appointment, and do a load of laundry. The shower is the most important.
My baby is still being so nice to me - just sleeping and eating for the most part. I made the mistake of mentioning to MIL that C is a totally different baby than DS was, and she replied "Well, (SIL) slept her whole first week and then she never slept again." Thanks, sunshine. She is a joy stealer.

C slept for 6 hours straight last night (about 9-3), got up to eat, then went back to sleep until 7. What is this sorcery?! It feels like J didn't sleep that much in an entire week LOL I'm not expecting this to last... We'll see how tonight goes.
The weather is nice today, so we'll probably do some walking around the neighborhood. A nearby park has great paved trails so we may end up there.

That's great sleep pivot we had a similar night and I feel awesome!! (8:30-1:30, 2-5, 5:30-8:15)
I also am 3.5 lbs from my prepregnancy weight and I am so happy. And my husband said I looked thin this morning---pretty pumped about it because I'm 1 month out. Cannot believe R is 1 month already--it felt so short!!!
I've been trying to start to stock up on frozen milk. I hate pumping but I got 4.5 oz from one side this morning while R nursed the other side. No wonder she is such a chunk.
No big plans today. I would like to get a walk in since it will be in the 50s before dropping way down again this weekend. And we even have 3-5 inches of snow in the coming forecast. Wtf weather!!!

I'm going solo again today. DH works every fourth day, but somehow I've been alone A LOT lately. I'm trying to be patient because I know he has a lot going on, but maternity leave was supposed to be a lot more of us doing this together.
DH actually starts crying last night as he wrote a farewell to his soldier who was killed (awful story, the guy was shot and killed by his 19 year old son. DH has known the guy for about 10 years and through a few deployments). In almost 11 years I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen him cry. It just about broke my heart.

So glad to hear of all the good sleep going on! Be careful crazycatlady6 and dancerspose. Sounds dangerous to venture out alone. 😕 This weather has been nuts. Frigid then hot, back and forth. I have had two horrible headaches. Not sure if it's that or hormones or dehydration from sweating buckets at night. I'm trying to stay on top of water intake. Anyway, here's DD2 looking cute. Pdq *poof*
Does anyone have any tips on curbing the post partum hair loss? I'm continuing my prenatal but wondering if there is anything else I can do. Last time it was SOOO bad and my hair only grew back once I was KU again. That is... not an option this time.

shawnabm1320 your goals are pretty much my goals today. But I also need to poop (damn iron). I purposely set an alarm so I could wake up early to poop and shower and just as I get in the bathroom, DS wakes up earlier than scheduled. How do they just know when you need to do stuff?
I need to shower before our 3 week appointment this morning. Then I plan to pick up some gas drops because we need to try something besides patting his back, rocking him, bicycling his legs, bathing him, and massaging his little bum hole in alternating order from 7pm to midnight.
Laundry also needs to happen. Luckily I started diaper laundry last night because once the gas passed this boy blew through a bunch of diapers. It's like he needs a clean diaper in order to poop and will do it immediately.

O.M.G. @jacks605 those are just too precious!!
dancerspose I just had a long talk with DH about how much I do and how little he is around. I basically told him I felt that even when he can be around (aka not a late night at work), he is choosing not to be. It sucked, but hopefully he will be more aware that there are 3 people at home waiting for him. I also told him he needs to acknowledge me more for everything I do around the house. Because I'm definitely pulling more than my weight around here.

This makes me nervous too. I remember wishing I had started preventitive care way sooner last time. I am taking prenatals and 2500 mg of biotin daily, ordered strengthening shampoo/conditioner (I got the Pureology Strength Cure set) & then lots of water. Not sure if it'll help or not but I at least feel like I'm doing something.
@jacks605, ugh, can you veto this trip and just say you're not ready?
flyinghorses6, @jacks605, your children are precious.
AFM, it's my birthday. I'm 29 today. DH gave me cards from him and E, a new wallet, and a bar necklace with E, his, and my birthstones on it.
Tonight MiL is babysitting and we're going out for sushi. I am irrationally excited for our first real date in a month and my first sushi in like a year.

Last two days were a blur with lots of plans and outings and constant cluster feeding on the part of Miss S. I was so completely exhausted. We had a decent night though and I'm feeling more like a normal person today. My mom is here and we're going to get lunch out after her teleconference. It's a little warmer out and maybe we can fit in a walk as well.
I don't usually like to share photos of my kids on here, but this is too adorable. L on the right, M on the left. PDQ.
We're going to the grocery store(s) today. Slow cooker BBQ pork for dinner if I can start it in time since pork loins are on sale for $1.39/lb.
I'd like to carve out time to make cloth-friendly butt paste so we can move away from $200/month disposables. I've been meaning to do that for at least a year.
