cosmicav yes the photographer should be used to pooping and fussing babies. Ours was very patient and stopped when he needed to eat, etc, and just went with the flow of things. Obviously it takes longer than a shoot with adults, but that's to be expected.

DS2 is a farting machine today. Poor guy. I haven't eaten anything abnormal, so I'm hoping it's just a today thing. Now he's asleep on the boob and I'm leaving him there. He's been so fussy I hate to disrupt him.

A herbalist came and did a talk at DS's group postpartum meet up. She recommended a bunch of herbs and tea recipes for different benefits for mom and baby. I'm going to try a chamomile tea after supper at her recommendation for his gas. DH says I'm getting "crunchier" with each child lol.
Evelyn3, littleredfish thanks you guys for the input! Idk why I am overthinking this. The photographer did say to expect it to take up to 2hours so I am going to assume that she knows what she is doing lol, and everything will go smoothly! We have never had professional pictures done so this is all new territory!
Was anyone given a weight lifting restriction who gave birth vaginally? I was not, so I've been lifting DS quite a bit, and I'm wondering if I overdid it a little - my lower abdominal muscles are pretty sore today.
I was told 20 lbs. So no picking up the toddler for me... at least until H goes back to work and I have to lift him in and out of the crib.
You know what is the worst?? Taking a nice long shower and sitz bath and soaking your ass and spritzing yourself with all the dermaplast and feeling good.......and then promptly having the runs/liquid poops :/

I was told not to lift anything heavier than DS2 for 2-3 weeks. He was 5lbs at birth. DS1 is under 2 and 28lbs - yeeeeea there's no way I was able to listen to that.
LO hasn't pooped since Sunday. I have tried the thermometer in the butt trick, bicycle legs, tummy rubs. What else can I do?? The longer he goes without pooping the more I dread the nighttime fussiness. Pediatrician said not to worry/call until it's been more than a week but I feel like he needs to get it out now. So much grunting, pushing and tooting.
Does anyone's baby just gag randomly? My LO just gags like a cat hacking up a hair ball sometimes. It's not always productive either, like sometimes there is spit up/barf but sometimes there is nothing.

Yeah I was told "nothing heavier than your baby"....but I have the huge diastis gap thing do going on and have to wear my brace daily. But I carry and lift my 15mo several times a day, have lifted my 4yo and definitely don't wear my brace every day. Oops. I do tend to have my bleeding pick up a bit after days I'm not careful though.
I tried the brace once. My lower belly skin is way too sensitive to wear it. A light brush feels like sandpaper across my skin.

Dummy question ahead... is the tea for you or the baby? I remember someone in my last BMB using chamomile tea in a dropper instead of gripe water for gas.

Well, chamomile tea is nice and comforting too.
Ya I always just heard about it for sleep, not digestion as well. She was really interesting and showed us studies performed on this particular recipe she recommends that shows it having better results than gripe water and only takes 20-30 mins after drinking to show up in the milk so I figured I'd try whatever to get him through the roughest part of the night.
I wasn't given any lifting restrictions this time or last time. I almost wish I had been, because all of the grocery carrying, mattress lifting, and toddler hauling my h was doing while I was pregnant stopped.
I didn't get out of the house enough today and I feel gross. I need to force myself to go out for walks, even when it's cold and windy. Tomorrow our cleaning lady is coming (hooray!!!) so I need to be out of the house for a few hours. I think we may go walk around the mall for a bit? I just need to not spend any money since my daily outings to target and the grocery store are adding up. I've realized it's very expensive when I'm not at the office!

She said for me. Interesting concept though to use for them in a dropper.
pivot tummy time sometimes works out the poop and toots... though if you've tried all the other things you listed I'm not sure if it will help. L hasn't pooped in a couple days either- it sucks seeing them so frustrated!

WTF is that about....
DS2 did this. Pedi told us it's just reflux and he would either work it out or not. I felt compelled to check his airway and he was/is always fine.

pivot, we always joke that we should put the baby in a cute outfit or go out somewhere to help him poop. DS1 would always give it up at church. Every. Single. Time.

Just ordered some nursing shirts, tanks, and bras from H&M. They are having a sale that ends today. Not sure how their sizes run, but it looks like the return policy is lenient.
Happy Birthday loves2shop4shoes! I hope you had a great day and date night.
It's been another hella day, taking Sabine to her orthopedic dr. I keep waiting for it get easier being out and about with an infant and toddler. Oh well.
Cmon DH...I get you are tired but please don't ay down while I'm nursing babes and as if it's time for their bottles...yes just make the damn bottles! Being ready 5 'minutes before I'm done nursing is fine.
