Mmmmmm Bop!
I slep from 11:30-4:15-9. R had a feeding at 7 and DH was up so he did it for me.
Bad part is that I woke up to no power with the storm. It's been sleeting since at least 4am and power is expected to return at 1. We are baby wearing today.

We have about a foot of snow now. I doubt we'll get to 20 inches, but I'm loving that we get one significant snow fall this season. Just as long as we don't lose power!
C decided she didn't need to sleep last night. She wouldn't fall asleep asleep until 11:30, and then woke up 2 more times motn and then up for the day at 6:30. Boo.
I am just hoping to get a shower, do the dishes, and run a load of laundry today. Survival is the name of the game this week!
And we just lost power, heard a transformer blow so it'll be a while. Trees are down so that's likely the culprit. Of course we don't have batteries for my pump so DH has to run out to get some. Talk about a FWP of being and exclusive pumped. Good thing we have a fireplace and DH has a jeep...
I'm taking our other car for an oil change and then maybe getting some groceries. It's snowy and cold AF, so we'll see. I would like to get something for lunch too. And take a nap. And convince DH to pick up DS.
....is Stella this winter storm? When did we start naming winter storms? Why do we do this?
Yeah, the whole naming winter storms thing started just a couple years ago. I'm really not sure why or how they decide if a storm is big enough to warrant a name.,.

We had some freezing rain this morning but that's about it.
It's actually supposed to be in the 50's today so I think I'll grill some chicken and veggies outside for lunch today. LO is being super clingy and will not let me put him down. Probably should break out my moby wrap and try to get something done.

Another monster created by 24/7 news.
Not sure how they determine if big enough to name but it's to allow insurance companies to track the damages/claims to that specific storm.

It's still snowing here, but definately won't be as much as originally forecast thank goodness! I'm praying DC is open tomorrow!
My friend keeps texting to see if J can play in the snow with her 2YO. Um, not right now when it's sleeting/raining. DNW to deal with super soaked clothes and an angry/wet kid.

Actually, The Weather Channel started it. I think it's stupid. Winter storms are big enough that there is rarely (if ever) more than one major storm affecting the country at a time. Hurricanes are small enough that there can be more than one affecting the country. So, could use dates for winter storms more easily than for hurricanes.
We had a winter storm a few years ago that our county executive named "Knife." Because it cut through the middle of the county like a ...knife. I rolled my eyes every single time I heard it. Freaking dumb.
That storm was awful. We were legit snowed in for 4 days. Lester Holt reported live from the end of my street.
Glad it sounds like the storm calmed down for most of y'all!
DS actually let me put him down for a nap so I made a fancy ass salad for lunch.
Also it's FILs birthday today so in honor of pie day I am making a banana cream pie for dessert tonight. I'm talking homemade graham cracker crust, homemade pudding and a salted caramel sauce. IDK where this burst of cooking energy came from.
I like the naming of storms, or at least, I certainly don't mind it. I think it's sort of fun? We got 8 inches, but I don't think we are considered part of Stella. DS is napping in his crib and I should be napping too, but instead I'm watching Chicago med and eating lunch.

We're snowed in and I don't mind as long as we have power. It's nice, actually. My husband is home and I made cookies (thank you babywearing). S is awake now and seems happy after a very fussy 24 hours. I'm not running on much sleep, but so far it's been a relaxing day.
I'm on hour 6 with no power. R is doing fine, he has been swaddled on one of us for the majority of the day. If we go a couple more hours with no power, we might abandon ship and go to a friend's house for the night. I'm not too thrilled about going out on the roads but we also can't do a night with a newborn and no heat either.

Nope, still no power here and no estimate time either. We're also approaching hour 6... thank goodness for a fireplace and grill. We also have an old generator if we get really desperate. I think in another hour or so we'll at least plug in the fridge and freezer because I'll cry if I lose all the breastmilk I have frozen (probably almost two weeks worth of food). If it isn't back on tonight Z and I may have to stay with friends and I'll leave DH here with the dog.

DH usually lets me sleep a little later because I'm up eleventy times a night to BF and handle both kids solo most nights. This morning baby was fussy so he asks if I can help because he needs to make breakfast for DD and get dressed. LOL welcome to everyday of my life H
