Ours was kind of lame. We have SO many Christmas traditions but haven't really established any Easter traditions at all. This year DS didn't notice, but we need to get our act together next year.
On Saturday I took him to an Easter egg hunt that was advertised from 9-12. We got there at 10 and all the eggs were gone. He didn't care - he got a free toothbrush and a bouncy ball. Yesterday I was too scared to take him to church because at Christmas he was totally crazy (I really need to go to church more frequently to make it more normal for him). So I went to church by myself. Then we spent the afternoon cooking and baking for the week and speaking to family on Skype/Face Time. MH did give DS half of a chocolate egg after dinner. BAD idea. DS never has chocolate and he went completely bonkers. I have never seen chocolate/sugar craziness in action. It was like he was drunk!

It's anatomy scan day. Me so eager to find out if we're team pink or blue. Also so nervous to see this baby and know they are in fact in there and doing well.
I'm not religious, and don't usually celebrate holidays, but my family is/does. We went to my mom's for lunch and had a good time. Came home stuffed and did a whole lot of nothing for the evening.

We did an Easter egg hunt in the backyard for DS. Then, IL's came over for dinner. My nephew is a year older than DS and they go crazy together. DS was so wound up that he couldn't get to sleep until after 9 pm.
Thinking about asking the office health and safety people if I can get a yoga ball to sit on. My tailbone kills me by midday. I have a desk that I can stand up at, but trying to avoid standing if I can. I am feeling super greedy about asking even though I know the company is serious about ergonomics and really $15 in the grand scheme of the budget is nothing.

This was my Sunday. Yes, that's our backyard, and yes that is a crushed fence. Luckily it out my grazed the neighbor's house. Kind of terrifying but so grateful no one was outside and there wasn't major damage. Now to fight with home owners insurance...
I am having the worst case of the Mondays ever. I locked my keys in my car and had to have H come rescue me only to get to the office and get locked out of my computer and then my report printed in an office almost 4 hours away. I'm done I quit this Monday, I am going back to bed and going to sleep. I am done. Blergh

I got off work late Saturday night, I got home around 5am. So Easter morning, I put the ham in the crock pot and fell asleep. And when I woke up, It was like 3pm and I saw that I put the damn thing on high instead of low. So we ate dry meh ham. Lol.
DS enjoyed his goodies. His basket was Batman Rain boots so, happy camper.
Our Easter was pretty low key. DH played on the worship team at church. So I was flying solo with the kids at church. They had children's church, so they kids went to that instead of sitting with me. After we all got home and naps, we did Easter baskets, we played, Skyped with ILs, and ate supper. Pretty low key and boring but it was nice.
Since I was right about the sex of the baby, I get to pick where we are eating for supper tonight. I have never been right with any of my kids, so I'm pretty shocked I was!
Baskets were a success. Breakfast was good. Then C threw up (at least not all over me).
So today I'm spending at home. We just had lunch outside and I'm trying to update reports for work, while C plays. He's fine today and will be back to school tomorrow.

We went to Olive Garden for super and had the best waitress ever. She asked if we were celebrating anything. So we told her we were celebrating a new baby. She brought the food and grated parm cheese like usual. She came back later and put more on for the kids. She brought us a complentary dessert which was amazing. She volunteered to bring stickers for the kids as DD was getting a little crazy (she didn't nap today). Then she wrote us a message telling us congrats and thanked us for celebrating at OG. DH said he tipped her well.
DS had his first totally irrational toddler tantrum this morning. He ate 3 bowls of cereal, and told me he was "all done". I told him it was time to get clothes on and go to school. He was okay with that. Then I tried to take his empty bowl and highchair tray. TOTAL MELTDOWN. Did he want more food? No. Did he want to go to school? Yes. I tried to figure out what the problem was for about 5 minutes but eventually just had to wrestle him into some clothes, stick him under my arm and carry him to the car, screaming "NO, NO, NO!!!" the whole time. He calmed down in the car. Still have no idea what the deal was.

It was a busy weekend so I've been MIA. We hosted family all weekend. Lots of food, a little drama = I call it a win. We also picked up our baby chicks this week (18 of them!) so it was fun to see all the kiddos play with them on Easter Sunday. DS likes them but isn't sure exactly what to think about them either.
I also test drove a GMC Acadia yesterday. Ironically as I was looking at it, DH went to move our car and it wouldn't start. It started eventually but I still think it's a sign. We didn't buy anything because I want to look at a few more options with 3rd row seating but I LOVED it. Does anyone have experience withe the Acadia or the Chevy traverse? It seems like there's a lot of room but I'm wondering how hard it will be to get into the 3rd row once we install car seats in the captains chairs.

Okay so they won't let me have "just" a yoga ball in case I fall off LOL. So instead they are getting me one of these fancy things. Score!

Oh, jealous! I've been wanting one, but I'd be on my own to purchase. I might just get a ball for the time being.
I have that chair! SO bought it for my birthday. I have it at work. Honestly, I don't sit on it nearly as much as I thought I would. I'm really small, so I had to replace the yoga ball with a bigger one I had at home so I could reach my desk. Sitting in the chair bothers my tailbone after a while. I wish I had it pre-pregnancy, because I wonder if it's just because my body is changing that I've had a hard time adjusting to the chair.

We have a traverse. I love it we also have a mini van.

We went to the zoo today. Now I'm exhausted. I new to grade papers but all I can do is lay on the couch.
Yesterday we got our new vacuum and I finally got to vacuum my floors. It had been a few weeks because our old one died and we had to wait to order a new one bc we were out of town. The amount of dirt and dust that came out of my carpets nearly made me sick! I swear, I will be vacuuming at least 3 times a week now just so I don't see that. Yuck!!!!
I was home with a sick toddler today. He had a fever yesterday but a-ok today. Now just super clingy and snuggly. I'm a little sad we won't have as much one on one time in Sept.

When the baby gets on a schedule, use those nap times to spend uninterrupted one on one time with your LO. It will help them feel like they aren't being misplaced too.

Our first batch of chicks hatched a few weeks ago and my daughter is obsessed. She sees an egg carton and starts chirping and losing her mind about the "chichens". She's 1.5 and it's my favourite thing ever.
Also. We have a Traverse and I love it so much. We only have one car seat right now in the captains chairs, but I know once we have two convertibles in there getting to the third row will be impossible.
ETA: this is my favourite video of my daughter talking about her chickens. My dad put it on YouTube. youtu.be/VJQyWPDK3G4
I'm taking the week off and having lots of down time with DS. Yesterday we took the bus to the natural history museum and then stopped for a coffee/snack at the cafe. All coffee places here make "fluffies" for kids (extra foamy steamed milk in a tiny cup with a dash of cocoa powder on top) and these things are absolutely amazing for peaceful coffee dates with toddlers.
We went to the midwife this morning and heard a great heartbeat. DS was really into it, saying "Listen! Baby's in there"... I think he's actually starting to get it
Baby boy is sure active today but can't quite feel him on the outside.
I made the mistake of telling DD that I was going to go to the bathroom when we go to gymnastics. She's freaking out now because she doesn't like the toilet flushing.
And!!!! Just found out Chick-fil-a is coming to our city! So excited!
