Nope. Nope. Nope. Sorry, I really despise that idiot sponge. I have no issues with TV for kids, my kid watches and learns a lot. But spongebob will forever be a big NO in this house.
Not that I'm trying to drill education early, but I've found nothing impressive about the way the characters talk and what they do. DD will be 3 on Monday and mocks what they are saying and doing from things she watches. Spongebob is a no here.
We are also a no on SpongeBob. He annoys me and I don't like the content for my 3yo. I have no issues with TV for children, but some shows drive me insane.

Alright it's official, DD is sick. When she wasn't nursing or passing out on us she was crying and telling us her tummy and head hurt and just shifting all around in discomfort. She refused breakfast and required to be help from the moment she woke up. We put her down for an early nap and could hardly stay awake for books. Our pedi does sick visits on the weekends so I may take her in for a flu swab. She never acts like this with a fever and there is no normal running/stuffy nose in sight.

aw poor thing, I hope it isn't the flu. My DD2 was just sick but it was just a fever, but that was it

Oh no! Hope she feels better. Glad you can see your pedi on weekends. It never fails that DD is sick on the weekends. She came back from the ILs with stopped up/runny nose last night. Wtf?

Thanks guys! I normally don't freak out over a fever(it was at 101.3 under her arm before we laid her down) but she never acts like this when she's sick. I normally don't even treat fevers and let them do their job because even in the 101's shes normally just happily playing. Seeing her curl up in a ball in pain is just so saddening to me.
I called the pedi and they close at 1:30 (it's past 12 already) and don't have any appts left. I booked one for tomorrow morning first thing but am also having a nurse call me back. Going to see what she thinks and if it warrants a trip to urgent care.
I bought a new tv finally go it set up- go to turn it on.... And nothing.... Aghhh! Now because I ordered it online I need to go through all the ups shit

Nurse just said to give Tylenol/Motrin and keep her hydrated and not worry about food if she's refusing it. She just woke up from her nap and seems slightly less miserable. We have the appt for tomorrow morning at 8:30 if she's still yucky tomorrow.
I am super annoyed at my sort of cousin. (My dad's cousin's daughter.) 10 weeks ago when they found out I was pregnant they offered us all their old baby girl stuff (their kids are 10 and 12). I was thrilled and happily said sure. I know them well enough to know that they have expensive taste. Since then I have been trying to schedule a time for me to go over there. We have made plans at least 3 times and she has cancelled them all. All of it has been me texting to see when would be a good time, her suggesting one several weeks out, and me agreeing to it. When I text a couple days beforehand to confirm it's never a good time anymore. WTF? I'm done, hand me downs are not worth this level of frustration. I'm pretty sure she doesn't actually want to give us their stuff. Not sure why she offered in the first place.

Yeah, you should just drop it. If she really wants to get rid of it she can start making arrangements. You'll get plenty of baby stuff without it.
It wouldn't bother me so much but he's always talking to me about it. I. Dont. Care.
DH is like that with music for me. He will go crazy on iTunes and play every single song he just bought so I can hear them. And then if I don't know an artist he plays like 5 more songs by them and wants me to guess. I honestly don't give a crap who it is.

I will go up and work on the nursery. I will go up and work on the nursery.
This is kind of a confession but I'm probably least excited about having to go through this huge box of boy stuff my good friend/neighbor gave me. I know a lot of it was a pass down from another neighbor and it definitely doesn't match the style of the clothes I'll be reusing from DD. I hate seeming ungrateful but don't want to sound like a snob either. Ugh. :/

That's my thought. I'll happily pay money at this point for stuff too, rather than feel like I'm forcing someone to give me theirs.
We had a trip to IKEA planned for today. DH still has to go but I am stuck in bed. I hope he bring home some cinnamon rolls and Swedish meatballs.
My DH doesn't have any hobbies that he talks about but my 8 year old doesn't stop talking about Minecraft! It is harder to tell your child you DGAF, so I endure hours of it.
My 8 yr old is obsessed. My favorite is when he spends hours which I thought he was playing but in reality he was watching YouTube clips of other people playing.... Like how is it fun watching other people play?!
There's another person with my screen name here. Why would you do that? I came over here the night everything imploded and there was no other petrichor so I ditched the numbers. She signed up with numbers then took them off of her display name. I only realized it when I was reading a thread and someone had quoted her and I thought, "I never wrote that." Sigh. Not sure if I should just ignore it or change my display name.
On another note, on the way home from work yesterday I bought everything I need to make hot fudge brownie sundaes. Now I need to muster up enough energy to bake the brownies.
Don't change yours. Ask her to change hers because you're getting stuff meant for her
Have you ever ordered furniture online? The closest IKEA to us is in Canada so I didn't have much choice.
No I haven't. I live right behind Ikea so I just go there. But trust me if you follow the pictures and organize yourself you'll be fine. Make sure when you open up the screws and such you open it up on a flat surface and separate then in groups. Then you'll be able to find everything faster and easier. There's also online help if you need it but I'm sure you won't.
