We all have those life questions where it would be nice to get a pro opinion. I thought we could share what we do professionally or as a hobby. Hidden talents (knitting, crossfit, bow making). I'm hoping we have cosmetologists, vets, I know we have nurses- do we have doctors? Teachers? Lawyers? Artists? Musicians? Ministers? Accountants? Tax folks? Who is M14?
I'm a reading specialist in an elementary school. I've also taught pre-k and have my degree in early childhood education and have worked for Early Intervention.
Work: project assistant... Passion: planning parties and weddings Eta: I also love diy projects. DH and I built a cottage (minus the foundation and electrical). Currently I am into refinishing furniture! But I am still kinda boring and my only talent is I can really read someones personality within minutes of meeting them. It is almost like I can feel what they feel and I know what they are thinking (not exact thoughts but in general). Sometimes its scary.
Expert of nothing, mediocre at many things. I was an ecommerce project manager and strategist, finishing my career working for one of the most prestigious jewelry houses in the world.
I used to write and draw. I read a lot. I'm a history buff.
I like this mom thing more than my career in a lot of ways.. More challenging. If I do go back to work again I might be interested in first continuing education in early childhood.
Work: Bookkeeping for DH's family business... Not my cup of tea, but I'm pretty good with quickbooks now.
Previously worked in Child Protective Services, teaching life skills/parenting(I'm the parenting expert ya'll!) and a homeless shelter
I have a bachelor's in social work and an associates in education.
I can't decide if I want to go back into CPS or do some type of teaching (VPK, head start, or subbing) when I go back to work.
ETA I need a talent/hobby! DH keeps telling me to open an Etsy shop to make some money (this seems to be the trend with all the SAHMs we know) and I keep telling him I have to be good at something first!
My BA's are in geology and physics. Super shocking I know.
Talents? I play the clarinet, tenor sax, and piano. Not all at the same time. I make jewelry. But only for myself and family and friends. I used to do theater, but DH and I haven't been in a show since we started dating. Just haven't had the time.
Photographer. I do fine arts and architectural stuff. DS is the first person I've ever photographed. Never thought I had the eye for portraits, until now. I may want to get into newborn photography down the line.
Side projects/passion- I love DIY/renovation stuff. Pinterest is my new best friend. I have so many ideas for my new house, it's crazy. I may do before and after photos once it's all complete.
Degree: Masters in Public Administration & BA in Political Science & History Title: Victim Specialist What I do: advocating for victims of crime and assisting in the facilitation of prosecution of criminal cases.
Talents: growing tomatoes (weird - I know) and finding incredible sales.

I teach kindergarten and have been working with the 5-6 year old set for almost a decade. If you need assistance in singing, dancing, simple math, writing three-five sentence stories, or reading beginner-reader texts, I'm your gal. I am an expert in arts and crafts, with a Master's in Early Childhood Education, a B.A. in Psychology, and a minor in glitter. I spend far too much time and money on children's literature and haven't read an adult book in years. Hobbies include walking/hiking, watching crappy TV, thrifting, making projects for home/school, taking pictures, and spending time with family and friends. I am not sure that I have too much to offer, skill-wise, but in roughly four years, I may come in handy.
I have spent most of my career working in Public and Government Relations. I currently manage a Poverty Reduction Strategy Group. I've mentioned it before, but truly, it's my dream job. Advocacy work with large community/gr/pr components.
I'm a politics nerd. It's what I went to school for. Thought I'd work in Ottawa behind the scene on Parliament Hill. But I met the husband and he works for our municipal government in IT (he doesn't fix computers, he runs giant databases).
I read a lot (pleasure and self help for the most part). I sit on a couple of boards, do board governance and strategic planning workshops for local organizations. Other than work and family, I volunteer. I'm currently applying to sit on our hospital board.
I am a former gymnast. Up until my mid twenties I coached competitive gymnastics. I got the really little ones as they entered the national stream. One of my former cuties (she's 11) is two competition away from joining our junior national team. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for her!!!

I'm a CPA.
My passion is singing. I'm in the band at my church. I sang competitively when I was younger, from about 5th grade to when I went to college. I didn't really enjoy that, but I love what I am doing now.
Degree: general studies with a focus in computer information systems
Job: desktop support specialist. I am thinking of making a career change. I don't know to what but I work far too many hours at home. I want a job I enjoy doing but I can forget about and I know I don't need to do anything else until the next day. I have no idea what to do!
Passion: to own a dance studio. I used to dance and loved it. I started when I was three and stopped in high school for stupid reasons. I miss it and have always wanted to be a dance teacher and have my own studio. If I can't do that I would love to have enough money to be a SAHM! I miss DD so much when I am at work and would love to just be home and have enough money to bring her to play groups or dance classes!
Hobbies: love anything outside, flip flops, walking, swimming, (Summer is my favorite season if you couldn't tell! :-P ) shopping, watching sports, TV, just doing whatever my little family wants to do for the day, and baking!
Also, no hidden talents unless dance counts. It's been so long that I probably lost it all!

I'm a therapist in a psychiatric hospital. My specialty is psychotic disorders.
I'm fairly musical. I was in show choir, and played the flute, piccolo, piano, bass guitar, and drums. I try really hard to be artistic.
I have a lot of animal knowledge. I grew up on a horse farm and had a lot of different pets. I worked at pet stores all through high school and college. I was even a canine obedience trainer for a while.
Hobbies = horse back riding and other outdoors stuff...hiking, canoeing, fishing, etc.

Wow, people do some cool things!
I'm a PhD candidate in Christian theology with a focus on historical theology. I write on relatively obscure 17th-century French nuns who may or may not have been heretics. It's fun.
I just started kitting this past fall but I don't have much time for many hobbies.
Job: Zookeeper. It is my passion and life and I would never want to do anything else. Currently I work with bears, cheetahs, some hoofstock, tortoises, penguins, flamingos, parrots, and a bunch of birds. But my current zoo is really understaffed and it's stressful and exhausting so I've been looking for a new job.
In my "spare" time I like to crochet, mostly hats, and have an Etsy shop. But since having DS I don't keep up with it as well. I used to ride horses and really miss it. I used to write and would love to publish a book someday. I read a lot of sci/Fi and fantasy.
I have a BS in Sports Management. My plan was to do event management or community relations with a baseball team, but sports jobs are hard to come by if you don't know the right people. So I went back to school and got my paralegal certificate. I'm the sole employee for a husband/wife law firm. She handles family law, he handles criminal defense.
My passions are sports, crafts, baking, and planning parties. I've made cakes for all types of events: weddings, birthdays, showers, anniversary parties. You name it.
I also love a great sale jcrewgirl. And coupons!! My husband is also a personal trainer surprisepartysue.
I have too many degrees, but the latest one is a masters of nursing. I'm a family nurse practitioner who works in a family practice and CVS minute clinic. I am currently studying for my phD with hopes of going onto administration in a public health department or teach.
Passion: I'd love to be the director of a teen health center.
Hobbies: I love physical fitness and am a true athlete. I got a soccer scholarship for college and half way into my freshman year I tore my ACL which ended my athletic career. I still play soccer, volleyball and work out daily. I love reading, kayaking, swimming, and every animal I can get my hands on (particularly koalas). I also play the piano and used to teach when I was in high school. Best after school job ever.
I can also bake a mean cheesecake and can fix the plumbing and electrical in any house (thanks for that dad).

I have a BA in marketing. I worked some corporate jobs but was never fulfilled. I now work at a small non-profit, but it doesn't feel like work. I love what I do, the people I get to meet and help. I get to help kids and make their parents smile. It's the best. Seriously.
I have no secret talents, but I love cooking. It was my main hobby before DS and I've still managed to do my fair share since he was born.

We have some very interesting mamas.
I have a Bachelors in International Relations and Religious Studies.
I used to work for an ethnic food company handling the ethnic food lines for Walmart and Target before my husband and I left Miami for Ohio. Now I'm a SAHM. Just worked out that way with the timing of the move and when I got pregnant.
I really like to read, but never seem to find enough time for it these days. I also like to try my hand at cooking and baking, but I'm no chef or baker. I make teething jewelry, and want to start trying to make some other things, and have an Etsy shop I recently started.
My husband is in sales, but more on the administrative side. He's a district manager for the nations biggest mattress retailer (exciting right?), but if anyone wants to know anything about beds or a good deal, let me know. My mother is a cosmetologist, so I'm semi - proficient in beauty stuff, and my dad is in nuclear security, but I know nothing about what he does.
I'm a makeup artist. I went to Aveda for cosmetology, but I'm not licensed (I absolutely hate doing hair). I plan on returning at some point for esthiology instead. If I had the time and the patience, I'd consider dermatology, but I have no desire to spend that much time in school (or rack up that much debt).
I'm a theatre geek, since both of my parents worked in theatre, and I love going to the ballet.
I'm a decent seamstress, and I enjoy crochet, but I'm amateur at best. I started a baby blanket for LO when I was pregnant and it's still only 2/3 done.
I used to write for my student newspaper but I swear since ending school, having kids, and not being able to devote myself to anything more interesting than Adventure Time, I've lost a lot of what I was able to do.
Arts and crafts...I do some minimal woodwork and painting, some sewing (not enough to give any decent advice). I used to be more knowledgeable about current events. I have a decent grasp of fantasy authors/books.
My dad sells insurance and my mom was a book keeper; is always go to my mom for quick tax info. DH is considerably knowledgeable about cars (imports but in particular Japanese imports), guns, music, military hardware and geo-politics.

I want ALL your tips and product recommendations for makeup/application!
Bachelors degree in Artificial Intelligence with minor in North American studies
I'm currently a senior technical analyst in the social media division of a large Multinational corporation. My dream job would be to work with nature, either the forests or oceans. If I could go back to school now I'd probably do a Forrest engineering degree
I love to read and am a professional netflix viewer but I also love to snowboard and scuba dive. I just don't get enough opportunities to do either of those anymore.

-I am a former classical clarinetist. I have a bachelor's degree in music performance from a very good music school. (University of Michigan's school of music was in the top 5 when I attended!) Did a study abroad in chamber music in Switzerland. SO, if anyone needs advice on choosing clarinet reeds, performing Brahms Sonatas, analyzing Schubert symphonies... I'm your girl! ;-)
-Master's degree in early childhood and elementary education with an endorsement for reading. Worked in early intervention for a couple of years and then taught in my own classroom for five years, grades 2-4 depending on the year.
-I speak some Hungarian (Egy kicsit beszélek magyarul!) and will be taking a Hungarian class this spring. Hoping to be at least close to fluent eventually but it's a tough language to learn. :-)
-I am currently working from home as a listing assistant for a local realtor and learning the residential real estate business. I will probably eventually get my own license. I know enough to be able to help a little with people who are buying or selling a home!
- I have my own photography business and do on location natural light children's and family photos. I can definitely help a little with photography questions, but I'm still learning a lot in this area myself too.
degree: Art History concentrating more on architectural history. Need further education to do anything with it, decided it's more of an interest than something to build career on plus I'm not a dedicated student enough for grad school. I'm the kid who liked to go to class but didn't do their homework.
job: nothing to do with my degree, debating on a career change but I don't know what I want to do when I grow up.
I knew I was a bit boring but wow, you ladies really have a lot of interests and hobbies. I really need to find something.
