I'm so pissed about the verdict in the Philando Castile case. Where is the justice?
+1
Blatant racism is rampant right now.
If a white man had said he had a cc permit he wouldn't have been shot. In fact, there was an interview with a white politician before Castile was murdered that said he'd get out of his car and wave his gun around to show the officer he had it. I think the Daily Show covered it.

But he had a wide set nose that made him look like the robbery suspect.
16"..... that's how close a bullet was to the 4 year old's carseat in the backseat. Not even found guilty of endangerment?!?! It's bullshit and justice was definitely not served.
I am so exhausted. Started bedtime an hour early, kids are in bed and I'm about to go to sleep. Might have a glass of wine first.
Funeral was this morning. DH is a mess
I am so sorry. When you shared the picture of your MIL with the girl my heart broke. She had a beautiful smile and even in that one photo it was obvious she adored your girls (regardless her medical challenges). I hope your husband is able to work through his grief in time. You will all be in my prayers.
Also, have that glass of wine and go to bed early yourself. And when you have some time to yourself (and I recognize that might not be for a while) please take care of you. Maybe a day in the spa in a few weeks?!
I figured I'd be nice and take SD shipping since she's been asking for clothes. Never again. Looking at tank tops and literally every one I asked about she had an excuse for why she doesn't like... I prefer racer backs, I don't like the ribbed fabric, I don't like this fabric, etc

Teens are so picky. My mom hated taking me shopping back then too. She takes my oldest niece sometimes, but she prefers shopping with and for my little ones simply because they are easier to please.
bliz1712 and savigirl count me in on the drinks and teen girl venting (although mines is 10)
I'm at my very limit with DD1.
Yesterday before school I asked her to put clean pants on (underpants). Yep - she needs to be told this because she's a dirtbag.
She lost the plot and it escalated into her threatening to punch me!! I calmly said "try it and I'll drag you by the hair, down the street to the police station and dump you there!"
She burst out crying and I kid you not said "I'm acting like this because we learned about puberty at school and that it's ok to be angry and mean because it's our hormones!"
WTF are they teaching kids??
A quick survey of her schoolmate mum's and it seems all the kids in her class have been maniacs this week and have basically taken their class lesson to mean - it's ok to act like a bastard because hormones are an excuse for everything.
I made her visit every house on the street to collect donations for the families in London who lost all their belongings in the huge high rise fire to teach her about gratitude and respect.
Oh yes! You are invited lulu. Big DD throw therapy jargon back at me, and I've determined Ss either never changes underware, or doesn't wear any at all! He stinks all the time and after camping last weekend he left 1 pair of socks, 1 tshirt, and a hoodie in the laundry. So he basically wore the same jeans, socks, and underwater all weekend---even after his shower! So gross!
We are vacationing at the beach this week and I will make sure he has clean underwater, socks and one, if not two, showers daily!
savigirl, my older brother had to be reminded to shower and change his clothes through HS. I do not understand how that is not something that comes to you automatically.

Swim lessons were awesome this morning! Each kid has 15 mins (or 20/10) so they finish happy. Ds1 really tried to swim. I'm so proud of him! I videoed it and showed him. He was proud too! Ds2 doesn't have a clue, but he's happy, kicking, and splashing = win!
This is a fucking nightmare. There's something wrong with ds1. Everyone else is participating with no problem and he's just crying and sucking his thumb and sitting on the floor. Wtf is wrong with my kid. Anytime an instructor tries to talk to him he starts crying. I'm so embarrassed.

Eta ok he finally started participating. Phew.
Is it because you are there? Ds did much better in swim lessons when I was far away. Last week he clung to me. This week he was sorta swimming. Also it's hard being in a new class...lots of us get shy at first.
We had a britax carseat. It is all black with the black/silver insert, so it's not that. And the only stroller I had was the BOB, so it's not that either
