I'm not sure if anyone from my "Do Over" thread is here yet but if you are, here's our gathering place. Is it ironic that we're having to do over our Do Over thread?
Info for newbs -
The "Do Over" thread started because I read Jon Acuff's "10 Day Do Over Challenge" & wanted to start over on the Body for Life program to lose weight. There were several others who jumped in with their own weight challenges & also a few people who commented on some other things (such as writing) that they'd like to do over. If you'd like to jump in, you are welcome to. This isn't a strict accountability thread but more of a "cheering you on" kind of thread. Post your brags, what's working for you, questions & calls for help here.
I have completed my first week back on WW. I am happy to report that I have had my first weigh in...drum roll please...-1.6! YAY!
NICE! *high five*
I haven't been to the gym since last Friday but I'm going this morning. Stuff keeps happening. I was going last night but DH ran into problems installing a heater. He felt bad that I didn't get to go. But I'm chasing it this morning. It's upper body day. I've been following my diet all week even though I haven't got to work out. I have to remember that I'm not failing at this just because I don't get to go every day like the plan says I should. I have a life & sometimes it's just impossible. But, the key for me is to not give up because things don't go as planned.
Here's my list - Rowing 3 sets x 10 reps 20 lbs Chest press 3 sets x 8 reps 40 lbs Shoulder press 3 sets x 10 reps 40 lbs Triceps ext. 3 sets x 10 reps 20 lbs Bicep curl 3 sets x 10 reps 30 lbs Back ext. 3 sets x 10 reps w. 5 lb plate
ETA: My progress pic. I'm not seeing much progress & I get that because December was practically a do nothing & eat everything & visit everyone for Christmas month.

Mind if I join in? I need all the support I can get. I have started trying to work out 5x a week without much luck actually losing weight . I am doing the biggest loser workout videos and p90. I am still breastfeeding so I am starving all the time and I eat all the carbs and junk. Any advice for trying to cut back on the junk or meals that fill you up without all the carbs?

Thank you, oldwheeze! I rewarded myself just a little today. As long as you are on track and eat your points, you will lose(win)! When I did WW before, I would have some awesome weeks and then total dud weeks as far as the numbers on the scale go.

Leapinglizards I am a huge snacker. I usually go for crunchy/salty. I've been eating lots of baby carrots with Bolthouse yogurt ranch dressing. Yummy! Eat lots of protein and fiber too, it will help keep you full.

I did WW before my wedding and lost weight, I'm thinking about joining again! I've been pretty good about exercising, but I feel like I'm hungry ALL of the time and don't make the best food choices. I've tried counting calories, but I did much better with the points system.
nolemomma14 I do ww mobile/online. Really good deal right now.. Sign up fee waived and if you buy a three month package, one month is free so rather than $59 it's $39!
oldwheeze did you buy three months of ww? I did and when I signed up I didn't receive the current sale of one month free. I called yesterday and they added my month so my bill isn't due until May! Call them!

Good! The web site says "if you join in January" and there were no other stipulations listed except it's over 1/31
What are you ladies eating for snacks? I think I finally have pretty healthy meals going but my snack food is so bad.
The main part of my diet is protein & complex carbs. I'm eating about 6 times a day on the Body for Life program. I love Strong & Kind BBQ nut bars. They are taking the place of chips for me right now. I find them at Wal-mart. I honestly haven't had a bad flavor but BBQ is my hands down fave.
Today my "snacks" are a banana and an apple. I think I'm going to buy some packaged nuts this weekend. I'm not actually super picky with my food... I'm just lazy and go for convenience so I have to learn new convenient habits.
I'm lurking - I have no specific goals other than "don't be a complete fat-ass" and "stay active, even when you want to curl up and die", but wanted to jump in on snacks.
I'm looking in to those Kind bars (would love a few more salty things).
I love the individual packs of trail mix from trader joe's (breakfast trek mix is my fav, but there are lots), apples with either peanut butter or cheese for protein, and I keep luna protein bars in my desk at work for backup/emergency food needs.

I've only worked out once this week but my eating has stayed on target with the exception of a piece of garlic bread with dinner last night. This in itself is an achievement because I could eat, like, 4 pieces. I'm learning portion control, to enjoy a little & then call it a day. I keep telling myself, this will not be the last time you eat. Lol.
Today DH & I are going to a funeral about an hour away. DH's best friend's mother passed away. She was only 50 & passed from a heart attack in her sleep. That's the comforting part. She went to sleep & woke up on the other side of eternity. The best friend was very comforted because by her side was her open Bible. That meant a lot to him. If you have a few, send thoughts & prayers for the family today. The best friend has a 6 year old & a 9 month old. His mom was a terrific grandmother to them.
Sorry to bring y'all down with that bad news but thanks for letting me share.
skeemer thoughts and prayers for your friend and his family. There really aren't words to describe the pain of losing a mother. It means so much to have the comfort of close friends. Strength and love to you and DH today.

Thanks. The best friend said when DH's name came up on his phone that he was so relieved. The BF is the most responsible child out of the 3 & so all the responsibility for everything is falling on him which I know is super stressful. I'm pretty much the one that would be doing the same thing if my parents passed. DH & I are the ones that always help my parents, don't complain about it & etc.

It's a really hard position to be in indeed. The grieving process is so difficult as it is and when the stress of planning services is up to you, it's overwhelming and can consume you. I have three siblings and when our mom passed suddenly we had to do it all. I was 17 (second youngest) and had a years experience as a geriatric nurses aide. My older brothers looked to me a lot for guidance and it was terribly hard. Even though all I wanted was my mom, it meant so much to have my friends and family close.
I made the best chicken stirfry last night based off of a weight watchers recipe. It called for chicken breast but I used chicken thighs. They were so tender and delicious I only have Netflix and binge watching master chef to thank.
Recipe: Cut about the pound of chicken thighs into bite-size pieces and toss in salt and pepper. Roast two cloves of garlic in 2 tablespoons of oil for about 30 seconds then add the chicken. Cook until chicken looks done on the outsides. Add a cup of chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce. Add stirfry veggies and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cover for 4 to 5 minutes or until the veggies look done. Add another half cup of broth mixed with one and a half tablespoons cornstarch. Stir until sauce begins to thicken. Surf alone or over rice.

Okay okay count me in. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet as hitting the gym isn't an option right now. I need to find a good workout regiment that I can do at home. Any suggestions? I need to REALLY work on my snacks. I'm a sahm so junk is always available :/.. My goal is to lose 10lbs.

What type of exercise do you like to do? I like Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 workouts because they're 30 minutes and you hit strength, cardio, and abs. I also like to dance so I do Zumba when I want something more fun and I've started working in some yoga/pilates because I'm old and bedsharing with an infant makes me all stiff.
I'm not consistent enough with my exercise, though. I need to prioritize and make a goal. It's just been hard with the night wakings to get motivated.
Oh and I also use 30dayfitnesschallenges.com. They have a bunch of different ones, some easier than others.
