I said it once and I will say it again....maybe it's time the babies started doing a shot or 2 of whiskey before bedtime. It just a suggestion Hope you all have sleepy babies soon!
First wake up was still 3 hours after bedtime. And he screams and screams. I finally rocked him for 20 min and he's out. I don't understand this new wake up. It's so frustrating.

I was only asleep for an hour before our first wakeup. This is NOT normal. Usually I get 3-4 hours before the first wakeup. I can already tell that tomorrow at work is going to suck if this is how my night is starting out.
Rant. My daughter does not sleep. She wants to cuddle on my bed under my arm all night. She won't lay with dh. I'm at my wits end. I don't want to sleep train, but I may have to. Oh. And she won't nap either. I'm soooooo tired. Thank God, her brother is an awesome sleeper.
DD was up at 1:45, 2:45, and 3:45. I gave her 5 min to be fussy (it wasn't ever full on screaming) and each time she got herself back to sleep before I needed to go to her. I'm glad she did, but it still meant I was awake for each if these wake ups.

So I wanted/needed to be in here last night. But I ended up bringing DD into bed with me after 3 wakeups before midnight happened...and I was afraid the brightness of my phone wouldn't help the cause.

Also, I think DD is Finally about ready to crawl. Which I think is contributing to said crappy sleep. This morning when she decided it was time to be up for the day at 4:55am, she kept getting on all fours in bed and rocking back and forth.
How does my baby think it's a good idea to be wide awake at 4:55am when she was up a million times at night and was super restless even when she was sleeping. I have such a crappy baby sleeper!
I really think these developmental milestones and growth spurts have a lot to do with not sleeping. Of course my husband would argue it's all the times I've taken naps with him that has contributed. Probably some of both. DS sleep is all over the place, most nights lately it's bad but last night after a few wake ups and my husband attempting the check system he slept from 12-7 which was awesome.

Hold the phone. I just read this article and it says that if your baby is sleeping less than 11 hours at night, you should drop the 3rd nap. Baby J has never slept 11 hours or more. sooo.... is this suggesting that I put him to bed by 5 or 6 since he needs to get up at 5 AM?

So I feel bad because I tried to put DD back in her crib and she screamed for a 5 minute interval and then when I went back in to check on her she kept screaming...and didn't stop for an hour and a half. So she obviously was awake because she didn't feel good and not because she was being difficult. :/ I finaly broke down and gave her some Tylenol and got her into the one position she wouldn't cry in and let her sleep on me until she fell asleep and I could slide her between DH and I. I'm guessing maybe her stomach was upset because she had a huge diaper this morning. I hate when they cry and you don't know what's wrong.

Does your son still take three naps? Is he sleeping well at night generally? Does he seem tired and fussy throughout the day? It's really hard to say because there is no one universal solution and all babies are clearly different when it comes to sleep. Some need more than others.
Occasionally he has 3, but mostly 2 naps. He usually gets anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours total for naps. (He sleeps less at daycare than he does with me or the grandparents) When he wakes up from naps or for the morning he usually seems a bit groggy vs. super smiley.
My mother says she used to lightly brush her fingers down over my eyes repeatedly to get me to sleep when I was a baby. I've tried it with my kids. They've never gone to sleep from it, but it does help them get sleepy.
I just got home from work and hear the baby screaming on the monitor. DH says he's been crying for 2 hours. Says he fed him and rocked him and has tried doing checks but screams when he lays him down. It's gonna be a long night.
