DD has been comfort nursing for 30 minutes and won't stop. 9 months is too old for comfort nursing.
It's getting to the point where it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.....
Tell me about it. I know how you feel! I am really...irritated? with this whole song and dance tonight.
I wish I knew how to stop if! Sleep training for MOTN wakeups hasn't worked for us, yet, because she thinks she has to nurse forever. I'm getting to the end of my rope with them, though.

After getting DD to sleep and putting her down by 7pm, she woke up 15 minutes later. Got her back to sleep, laid her down in her crib and she immediately woke up. I was at my wit's end and in tears knowing I was about to have another one of "those"nights. So we made the call to just move forward with retraining.
Here's how it all went...
Put Down at 7:54pm Check 7:58pm Check at 8:08pm Check at 8:22pm Asleep at 8:42pm Wake at 12:17am Check and feed at 12:26am Asleep at 12:45am Wake at 4:05am Check at 4:16am Asleep sometime around 4:30am
I had to wake her up at 6:20am to feed her and get her ready for the day. This rarely happens. She always wakes up on her own earlier than that. She must've been really exhausted from the crying.
I can't really complain because this was the best night's sleep I've had in a while. But I'm still exhausted. Here's to hoping that the rest of the week warrants even better results!
We were up at 10, 12:15, and 2:00 last night, then had to get up at 2:45 to drive DH to the airport. Figured I'd get home and grab a couple hours of sleep but newp...he fought sleep for an hour, then only slept 45 minutes. So today I'll be running on 3.5 hours of broken sleep (and Dunkin).
His bottom gums are so puffy and he's just been a bear the past couple days which is SO unlike him. I can feel the next two are getting ready to cut through so I won't sleep train since I know he's in pain but damn I wish they'd hurry up and cut through. I'm hoping we get a reprieve in between these two and the top ones coming in. I'm so ready to do some Ferber.
I wonder what it is that keeps some babies from sleeping? It sounds like you guys have tried everything...comfort nursing, sleep training, drugs (the legal kind), rocking...all to no avail. What gives, babies??
How are there this many of us with babies who won't sleep?! Damn sleep regression/teeth. DS took about an hour to get down the first time according to my husband. Then woke up sometime around 2 and took me 45 mins to get back down and then woke up at 5:30 and refused to go back to sleep so we've been up since then. I felt and saw a new tooth on the bottom that is coming through so I feel a little bad that maybe that's been bugging him.
My mom is in town watching LO this week, and we've had two nights in a row with wakeups (not normal for us). My mom said she thinks it's because LO is eating such a wide variety of foods (that she's feeding her). I think it's teeth and new skills (crawling) that are making her want to be awake and play. Whatever it is, I'm over it. I also told mom to maybe limit the variety of foods today, since we do have control over that.
Since dd has been sleeping horribly she has started crawling and today she started sitting herself up on her own. Hopefully this is a growth spurt/developmental temporary sleep thing.

Yay for her sitting up! Boo for not sleeping! I'm hoping it gets better really soon!
Well he did good the first part of the night. But now I can't get him back down. He's currently standing crying. Was asleep after I fed him, then woke up when I layed him down and he kept sitting up. So I walked out- there's only so much shh'ing and laying back down I can do. Been 30 mins so far.
He is wide awake. Just handed him over to DH. I hate when they fall asleep and then as soon as you put them down, they scream. 1 step forward 2 steps back.
Was up from 3:30-4:30 trying to get him back down. I tried everything. I eventually tapped out and had DH try. He said it only took him a few mins to get him back to sleep. Ugh. So tired.
So last night, she was up from 2-3:45. The first hour or so was with H, and then she ate and went back down pretty easily. I already had a talk with H about giving her time to re-settle herself, since when he went in to get her she wasn't even crying yet. He's such a softie (and I love it).
Wake up number two. So far we've been up 12:45-1:55. I'm so sick of this. I've been a total bitch lately because I'm so tired. I'm so frustrated and mh doesn't seem to get it. He complains "jeez the baby was up a lot last night" but it's not like he's up with her.
