But he was 12. I'd say a 12 year old can't consent to sex with a 30+ year old. Especially a teacher. The power balance is all off there.
I totally agree she was wrong and she did sexually molest a child. But I stand by what I said - I think a 12 year old boy is more than capable of being and wanting to be an active participant. If Mary Kay was a 300lber you think he still would have had sex with her? Probably not. He wanted to do it.
Do you feel the same way about a 12 year old girl?

Absolutely. I believe a 12 year old is capable of wanting to have sex with a man. I'm not saying it's right so please don't think that. I think Mary Kay is disgusting and should never have allowed it to go there as the adult. Same in a male teacher/female child situation. Violent rape is much different than statutory rape IMO.

Also maybe I should have been more specific in my original UO. I was talking about repeat, violent offenders. Not every single person who has at once been deemed a sexual predator, or had an underage relationship. It's like we're comparing apples to oranges. Mary Kay is not Ted Bundy, YKWIM?

Hm well we disagree on something. Had to happen eventually!
Don't worry, I never thought you said it was right. Just asking questions
Agree and I'll take it a step further. I think repeat sexual offenders should be castrated. I'm not joking. They're a fucking danger to society.
Unfortunately, castration probably won't stop them. They'll find another way. Just because they don't have their penis, doesn't mean their minds will change, ya know?
Unless you mean so they can't reproduce.
This makes me think of all the women who are molested using objects

She's a sex offender. Do you think the boy wanted to or that she mind fucked him into agreeing to it? I don't know the mind of a 12 year old boy. Also yes they have fucked up brains. I don't think you can fix it. Also yes to steeper punishment! You'd fucking think twice about touching a child if you knew someone was going to cut your dick off. I mean I'll probably do it to you anyway but if you knew it was guaranteed!

I just feel like it would be very hard to say no to a teacher, even if he legitimately wanted to try it. You get in trouble if you don't do what the teacher says, right?

This. The bottom line is she was the supposedly responsible adult in the situation and it should have NEVER gone that far.
Of course it will give them pause... but what about their hands or other body parts they could use? I don't think sexual attraction ends once the dick is gone.
I just think if we started cutting rapists dicks off other rapists may decide it's not such a great idea when the punishment is more than 3 hots and a cot
My main point being that our punishment for repeat offenders is a joke and the rapists know it. Let's start handing out true consequences.
The death penalty is out there for murderers, and that doesn't make them think twice. If they want to do it, they're going to do it. They won't think they'll get caught.

That was exactly what I was trying to say. Not that ALL offenders should be mutilated. But when dude ends up locked up for the third time because he keeps shoving his dick inside someone that doesn't want it, he might think twice when he knows what his next punishment is.
I don't think they should let sex offenders out of prison. (Not 16 year olds that sleep with a 15 year olds.) I mean like grown ass adults who are attracted to babies/children. Fucking disgusting. You can't fix those people.

Hear, hear! (Apparently I watch too much GoT and Outlander)

I think the death penalty is a joke too. You really want to punish someone? Lock them up in solitary without a dick to wack off. That's punishment.

Totally agree. And did anyone watch their most recent special? Dude looks miserable and she still comes off as a creep. I think she stole his childhood.

Hahahahahaaa!!! Then allow visitation from other prisoners who need "something".

I'm just saying that no matter the punishment, if you've got the mind to commit such a serious offense, you're not going to think twice about the punishment, otherwise we wouldn't have the amount of serious crimes that we do.

Of course he wanted to do it because young boys think with their penises. But she should have not let it go there bc she was an adult.
It is wrong no matter how much the boy wanted it or if in the end they have been married for 10 years.
First off, I watch that interview and she came off dumb as a pile of shit. Secondly, he seemed like he was so over being with her and super unhappy but has to stay in the marriage just to prove what went down wasn't wrong bc it was true love.
The whole thing is horse shit. She claims she has no idea what she was doing is wrong but I'm pretty sure somewhere is her training they discussed how to spot and handle a child he has been/ or is being sexually assaulted. As it is there job to report such things if they find out about them.
In my book she is just as bad as the cops that kill unarmed people. Boom...dropping a bomb and leaving because work beacons and the daycare might call me to pick up my baby at any moment.

Well with that mentality, let's let all the criminals run free and offer them a hug and hot cocoa when they get caught hurting someone.

What I meant was that I don't think he is being forced to stay married to her. I think they're together for the money. That interview special paid a hefty sum, I bet.

While I have been joking around, I so agree with pnwlover12 that there needs to be stricter (and even drastic) penalties for repeat offenders. If what you are saying is true, then we just simply need to keep serious offenders locked up. But then how does a society do that with overloaded prisons as it is and differing opinions on whether someone can be rehabilitated?
Another thought - If you think about the death penalty, it's along the mindset of a life for a life. What if all other criminals had to go through whatever they did to another person? Would that make a difference? (Outside of the fake that whomever had to administer the punishment would probably have to go to therapy for the rest of their lives)

Oh hells no! I'm not saying throw punishment out the window! I'm saying that criminals don't care what the punishment is. I can guarantee you that most of them think they aren't going to get caught in the first place, and if they cared that much that they would get locked up or get the death penalty or what have you, they wouldn't do the crime.
Do you think the Boston Marathon bombers were sitting around saying, "Hey man, I'm not so sure we should do this.. we might get caught and the death penalty would be likely.." Doubt it.

Sorry for the post and run ... be back later.
If we're still talking about rape, I'd agree we need harsh punishments, but rape is one of the hardest crimes to prosecute. Less than a quarter of rapes are even reported to police, and even then, the burden of proof lies on the victim. Juries are skeptical, the defense usually argues it was consensual, they pick apart the victim's personal life and make them seem unreliable. It's a systematic failure when it comes to rape survivors. Something, the system, our culture, something, needs to change before we can even try to put rapists away for longer or give them harsher punishments.
I just think if we started cutting rapists dicks off other rapists may decide it's not such a great idea when the punishment is more than 3 hots and a cot

I agree here. And I don't know how you do that with already overloaded prisons.
And maybe if criminals had to go through what they did to others, it would be different, but I really don't think so. So, say I mugged someone and punched them in the face while doing it. So I'm going to go to jail to get mugged and punched in the face? I think that would be laughed at by criminals. Someone rapes someone so they go to jail and get raped? They would probably get their jollies from that. Someone kills someone else, well, there's already the death penalty and that doesn't stop people from killing. Know what I mean?
I don't know what the solution is. I'm just saying threatening harsh punishment probably won't make a rapist or murderer think twice because of the way their mind is wired.
Sorry I want to further clarify what I meant because I wasn't trying to say he wasn't a victim as a child. I do believe he wanted to do it, but Mary Kay as the adult should never have let it go there. So he was in fact, a victim, but I don't think he is still be victimized by being married to her. He's a grown man, has fathered several children with her, and there's no reason he couldn't get a divorce if he wanted to.
