I have my 34w OB appt today, I think I go weekly after today which is nuts to me. Part of me is willing the next few weeks to go faster, and part of me wants it to slow down some.
I'm wide awake at 4:30 am from pelvic pain, trying to find a spot that's comfy so I can fall back asleep. I slept really well, and it's been fabulous and I'd love to get a few more hours.
My 34w appointment is today too! I hope your appointment going smoothly luckystarz & the pain goes away.
I slept 6 hours straight. My life is complete. I'm happy as a horse right now.
I found one of my cats sleeping in the crib last night. And they won't stay out of the pnp which I set up last weekend. And we had the car seat inside for all of 24 hours and they thought it was their new bed. I can't win. Anyone else having trouble with this? Any suggestions? *normally the nursery door is shut but it won't always be!!

I had my 34 week check up yesterday. They told me I have to start going twice a week for non-stress tests at 36 weeks because of increased BMI. This of course has me so stressed because I'll have to leave work each time to go since they only do them at their office with daytime hours (they have an office with evening hours that I prefer because of work). My boss isn't exactly the most understanding with this stuff. On a happier note, my shower is this weekend, which I'm looking forward to!!! My best friend is coming into town, so it's always a treat to get to see her!
Hi luckystarz - glad you got some sleep/hope you are going back to sleep.
jap618, will it not be practical to just keep the door shut all of the time? I have friends with three cats and a baby, now toddler. They found that once the baby was born, the cats wanted nothing to do with the baby or the nursery. Was the nursery a room they hung out in a lot previously?
Today I'm working from home, and I"m also learning the PB ropes - I think once I get used to it, I will like it better here - technology-wise, I mean. I already like it better here otherwise.
I'm expecting three dresses via FedEx today and am planning to wear one to my baby shower on Saturday. Hopefully at least one works out! And, hopefully no more than one works out, as I can't really justify more nice maternity clothes at this stage.
Hope everyone is feeling (relatively) good, and that our bed rest ladies are still hanging in there!
We have yet to decide on a name for LO. I thought we had the first name at least picked but now DH isn't so sure. I'm such a planner and now I'm freaking out that we won't have a name for LO once she's born. Why is picking a name so hard? I thought girls names would be easier but we definitely had an easier time with DS. Our only requirements are that it can't be a popular name (so at least 150 or lower on the SS list) and it can't be a name of someone in one of our families. Apparently this is hard.
peep it wasn't a room they hung out in before. The door doesn't shut tight so we have a lock on the outside for now. Which is fine while LO isn't in there but once she's here we'll be in and out of that room so much more regularly it doesn't seem feasible. I'm hoping once the baby is here they'll calm down.

peep I'm trying to go back to sleep, I think LO moved over night and is head down and curled up tight. Her movements are so different, and she feels more restricted so it's been interesting to lay still while she Whigs out. I'm also trying to avoid taking a pain pill, but I'm not a martyr and will give in if I need too.
jcar names are so hard. We finally have one, but aren't telling and we're catching a lot of flack from that. They'll find out when she's born, and until then she can wait.
It's probably a dick move, but I blocked FIL on my phone the other day and it's been amazing and quiet. All calls get sent to vm, no texts, no nothing. Drama Llama has left the building.
jap618 we don't really have a list since all of the names DH liked, I don't and visa versa. The one name I thought he liked that was on my list has been her name for the last couple months but now he's not so sure. I don't think waiting until she's born be terrible if we had a short list of names but it's too stressful as it is now with absolutely no list.
luckystarz once we actually pick a name we aren't planning on telling anyone either. They can wait until she's born. We did the same with DS and it drove people nuts. However we never heard a bad word about the name we chose for him.

We chose to not share b/c I had so many close family members tell me DD's name is, "awful, you couldn't possibly be really naming her that." She doesn't have a speshul name either, it's real but older.

Names are really hard! Me and H couldn't agree on one for this bubba for ages which was annoying as we found it so easy to name DD and Noah. Have you tried pulling them from a hat at random then seeing if they fit with your names? Thats how we ended up with ours
My random is annoying anxiety attacks which seem to be getting more frequent now ive booked my c sec. Managed to get one triggered by a nightmare last night which sucked as H was working nights so i was all on my own at home.

I'm going to leave work at lunchtime today so I can hang out with my hubby for a few hours before he leaves for a 5 day mission. I'm trying to get things knocked out on my baby to-do list and my work to-do list and I feel like there aren't enough days left! I still feel a lot of ownership with my projects at work even though I can't wait to leave so it's a weird thing to describe. I think there are going to be a lot of changes after I leave with other people and how my work load is absorbed and what happens when they hire someone different. My position and my skill set is kind of an anomaly and they will have to hire at least two people to split my job up between different departments. I keep saying that it doesn't matter to me because I won't be here but at the same time I do care about my projects and hope they are carried out successfully in the future.

We are having a BOY!
jap618 I have the same problem with one of my cats, he thinks all the baby stuff is for him. I keep the nursery door shut but if I go in there for something he runs in, jumps into the crib, takes her stuffed giraffe to snuggle and goes to sleep! I don't know how to get him to stop. I'm hoping once baby is here hell leave it alone.

I'm so frustrated. On top of the flu, I'm still itching like crazy. I'm afraid to take my nightly Benadryl while I'm on Tamilfu, so I'm just plain fucking miserable and can't sleep.
Really, what I want, is just one week where I'm not sick or so itchy that i make myself bleed from scratching. Is that possible? Right now it seems unlikely which puts me in the 3rd trimester funk i was in with DS just 2 years ago. I love being pregnant and then I'm just so over it i want to cry.

I'm horrible.
You're not horrible. You're pregnant. This shit is hard. The end is in sight, hang in there!
Good luck to you ladies with appointments today! Please, nobody fall! I'm so glad we've had our girl's name picked out from the beginning! The mn took a bit longer but I'm so glad it's sticking! We're supposed to have the hvac people here today to replace the water heater. The pilot went out a couple weeks ago and wouldn't turn back in. They did manage to fix it temporarily so we have had hot water since then but now t needs a better fix. Their scheduler said "between 8-10" and last time they didn't show up until 11. So, 33 weeks today! Less than 50 days left and my anxiety about unfinished plans is starting to make me twitchy! I know everything will be fine and I just need to relax so I'm working on that. Have a good day ladies!

I was in search of a dress to wear for my shower this weekend and stumbled across a Gap Maternity dress I ordered from Thredup during the first trimester. I totally forgot about it! It fit fine but I wasn't sure if I'd need a sweater or something to accessorize. We stopped at Target yesterday and I found a sweater dress on clearance for $11, so I couldn't resist! Now I have to decide, too… FWP, right?
jap618 I put aluminum foil in the crib after one of my mom friends recommended it for getting her cat out of there. It's been working pretty well! Mine won't jump in there anymore. She does still love the nursery, as does my dog. I didn't want to shut them out of there, so I just monitor them when they're in there.
Just got back after my 34 week appointment, and I'm freaking out in a totally sane way. My doctor believes that the only thing keeping my baby in is the pessary, and wants to remove that in 2 weeks due to baby's head size. (it was measuring about 39 weeks today). I would really prefer another week of time, at least. I'd like to get to 37 weeks for the better outcomes, and for the easier maternity leave. SO basically...I don't know what to do but I know I need to get my shit together.
cwbandthenewbie I second that - you're not horrible! That sounds like misery and not too much to ask to have a break from those symptoms. I hope you feel better soon.
jcar & luckystarz - All of you gals not sharing names… I knew I should've followed suit from the beginning! We haven't had poor feedback on our son's name; it's just been a little irritating with regard to how quickly people want to 'tweak' it. It's not a SS either but it's a bit old-fashioned. More than a few conversations have gone this way:
"So do you have a name picked out?"
"Yes; it's Francis."
"Oh OK! So what will be his nickname?!" or "You can call him Frankie!"
I proceed to tell people we chose his name to be Francis because we plan to call him Francis. If he goes by a nickname it will be up to him one day. I don't know why there's such a propensity for some people to do that…
I gave in, 2 days of feeling like someone was snapping every inch of my pelvic bone in half is enough. I'll hang until the meds kick in and hopefully catch some more sleep.
@cwandthenewbie ((hugs)) I'm sorry, you deserve to complain and be done all you want too.
mel7806 yay for finally getting a permanent fix, I hope they show up in their time frame. The "anytime between 8-12" shit drives me nuts. My dad always tells them, "well I'll be home between 10-11:30 and I'm paying you so let's see how this works out." They've always been there in his time frame.

jm0848 I had never heard of a pessary before, I just googled it! Sending positive T and Ps that baby stays in for as long as possible.
My parents' cat is staying with us and got out last night after dinner. He finally came back this morning, but I was out walking the neighborhood searching for him most of last evening. I had dreams about it. I'm so relieved he came back, but I am exhausted and irritated at him. He loves going in the nursery to hang out, and I closed the door to spite him. Cats totally understand passive aggressive, right?
I have a dentist appt this morning. I haven't had dental insurance since before H and I got married (he never added me to the dental plan, and because Tricare is stupid it's separate). So it's been 3+ years since I've had my teeth cleaned....
Other than that I'm doing nothing. GL to everyone that has appts today!
jordanamb have fun at your shower this weekend! So exciting.
peep where are the dresses from? I want to go shopping!!
jcar names can be so hard do you have a list that you just can't narrow down or no list? Would it stress you out to wait until you meet her?
Seraphine. One of the dresses coming is the same one as katydid2015 had, only in a different color - the orchid - I think katydid had the blue? They were (are?) having a really good sale on a lot of their stuff. I ordered last Thursday and the dresses are coming today - they actually would have arrived yesterday but I wasn't home to sign for the package. Shipping was inexpensive (7.95) and the returns are free, which was really surprising to me since the dresses are being sent from the UK. So we'll see!

GL to all those with apts today! I feel so behind with all you at 34 weeks. Shoot i just hit 30 and feel like omg it's happening. Once you all go into labor then I'll wash A's clothes. Ha.
jcar i feel like names should be hard! We are choosing a name for a human that will last forever. And we are responsible and don't take it lightly. Have you guys narrowed it down? Top 2 and decide when she is born??
I'm still in bed. I gotta get up though. I was going to get coffee but now I'm not sure I'll get up in time.
Sleep has been going slightly better with just the boppy wedged under my bump.
My boss finally got a new desk yesterday. Now he has to shove his old one out by me so my assistant has her own and we no longer have to share woo! I know I'll be gone soon but i told them they had to do it before mat leave otherwise i know they never would.
Morning all! I'm still trying to get the hang of PB so I apologize if I haven't been around as much. Plus work is crazy busy lately and I'm still trying to get things in order for LO.
I hope everyone has good appointments today! Re: names, DH and I have had very different tastes this whole time but we do have one name that we both like. I don't love it but last night DH said he didn't care and was going to leave it up to me to choose but to "not make it anything stupid." Well, his version of stupid and my version could be two different things. I don't know if this is a trap and I should go with our compromise name or the name I really want, which he says is 'okay' but I can tell it doesn't blow his skirt up.
In other news, I'm not even ashamed of my now-lazy self. I'm wearing the same pants to work that I wore yesterday, I forgot to put on deodorant this morning, and I didn't even brush my hair. Just threw it up in a bun. My fucks have officially left the building.
racegurl87, I love going to the dentist. it's right up there for me with going to the car wash. I like clean stuff and I like having it cleaned for me, I guess.
luckystarz, way to block FIL! I must learn some of your techniques. My FIL drives me crazy and now he is coming to my baby shower. SOs are welcome, but we didn't think he'd want to come. Hopefully he won't decide he needs to make a speech like he did at our wedding reception (which he was not asked to do and had absolutely nothing to do with DH or me or marriage). I give it a 50/50 chance he will feel the need to express himself…
jm0848, oh, no! I hope all goes well. Stay put LO!
I think someone had started a thread for people who changed their user names on PB - most of them I can figure out, and I know snlt1012 is our own lovely former mod, but if you have completely changed your name, maybe we could temporarily put the old ones in our siggies? (Sorry if this has already been addressed.)

Yay, I learned to tag on PB!
I actually ended up with the orchid color and I love it! The dress is super comfortable and very flattering. I'm wearing it to my shower next weekend!
