I am not saying this shit is easy! its not just about wanting it. I had to FIGHT to survive and that is what I did. I had a choice - I work my ass off, and I find something better than fast food or my ass was going to be homeless.
I will never forgot my first interview for the factory I ended up at. I had to apply for a 2nd shift job where I went to work when my afternoon classes were done (while I was in high school). I literally told the woman that I needed the job because I couldn't pay my bills working my fast food job and I would do what ever I could to get that job. I went to school during the day and worked in a factory at night while I finished my senior year of high school. I didn't have family to help me, it wasn't about bettering myself. I had to survive. Eating a can of corn for dinner because I had nothing else, working until midnight and getting up at 6 am for school was great. I was definitely privileged
I guess I don't understand what you are referring to when you say they don't have access
