And they should not have to "figure out" how to put food on their table because the rest of us feel it is unfair they get paid enough to afford COL...
That is my issue with this whole UO, why is it ok to say I do not want food service workers to have a higher minimum wage because I have a better job, education etc.
Since when that became the reason for us to throw away basic human decency? I tried to keep it inside but I absolutely hate when people utilize their own life experience to justify why they feel others should also struggle through life.
I work in the hospitality industry in the higher end of the spectrum and I can tell you the housekeepers and stewards work two, three jobs just to make it, and they are some of the hardest working people I know.
I consider myself to be an overly compassionate person and in no way am I throwing away human decency. I am not using my experience to justify anything other than to say that I can sympathize with what it is like to struggle. I think your reading way to much into and taking it to a place it wasn't intended to go.
