We had an impromptu zoo day with MIL yesterday. DD was much more interested in all of the critters this time than she was last month so it was a lot of fun. I loved seeing her getting excited about the monkeys and she couldn't take her eyes off of the elephants, it was adorable! Poor DH was all grumpy and jealous so we'll probably be going back very soon. Not complaining

Hi, notches!!
We had a super busy weekend at the beach for Father's Day. Had a delish seafood dinner on Saturday and ANB did really well going and coming. He was not a big fan of the ocean ... I am questioning whether he is my son now.
And I am super busy at work - which is good. I have had a great couple of weeks and feel like I am adding value and it is being recognized. I've been waiting a year and half to get back to this feeling.
I'll try and pop back later.
Also, I tired. I think we're cutting three teeth. Two for sure.

Isn't it fun? I love how much more intrigued dd is with the zoo now. Our zoo has a farm animals area and she loves the cows. I'm guessing because of her learning farm toy (the one we all know the songs to based off of yesterday's randoms).

I am so glad work is exciting again!! Whoo hoo! Also, thanks for gifs. Lots of gifs.
Yesterday went pretty well! Thanks for all the well wishes guise!
I was able to get through my negotiations without vomiting! I didn't get nearly the salary bump that I wanted - but she did get really close to my bottom line. And she added a sign on bonus! I also bought myself some time before my final decision needs to be made.
My phone interview led to nothing, but I'm fine with that because I wasn't convinced the job would have been for me anyways
My other interview went well. It's interesting because it's in the same specialty as my offer is for - so I'm really able to compare the two clinics. This is a two part interview, so I go back Thursday to meet some more people. So we'll see.
And a special thanks to sweetsurprise and kellrr for taking the time to chat with me about negotiations and such. You ladies rock!
OMG. I got home last night and MH had sorted all the laundry, even the crap we never do unless we have to. And he had done a few loads and cleaned the kitchen. And wasn't even mad at me?!?! I guess Father's Day was okay?

. nice! I missed this because I have been so MIA. If it's really your bottom line, you can still go back. There's always one more round to go beyond when you feel it's been played out. I always do one more push when it feels "done".

staryb so glad the zoo was fun!! I haven't taken DS because I didn't think he would get it yet but I am totally going to go after hearing your DS had so much fun!
americanninjamommy yay for beach days! At least for you. Also, promise me you won't leave us for fb. It seems like a lot of the old regs are falling off lately.

Thanks. I was kind of wondering. The lady I'm negotiating with was very "this is the absolute best" blah blah blah. I'm a wuss, so I didn't know if I could push it or not.

Well, after all my agonizing last night, DS slept 7 hours straight in his crib, no crying required. I'm sure it's a fluke.
happyin14 it took so long to get DS to settle after letting him cry, and he would wake up randomly and just start screaming, and I just can't. Nope. Also, hugs. I totally get the avoiding certain places during a certain time thing. June in general is turning out to be not so much fun for me.

I would just be careful how you word it, but yes. Especially since you have now "taken the night" to consider.
Say you really appreciate the movement and how much they are trying to make it work. Makes you want the deal to happen even more. BUT.... "After factoring in my needs financially and given my experience, I really need a salary of _______.."
ETA: remember it's a business transaction. You've examined your household expenses, etc etc. If they have a context that's more based on actual thought and need combined with what you bring to the table, you get farther.

I agree in many fields that is true but in the healthcare arena she may be stuck at the first bump. I haven't seen many situations where they have increased it further unless there was a dire need. I don't think it hurts to go back again, I just wouldn't put money on them bumping it again.

I completely agree with what happyin14 said yesterday about the kids doing better sleeping at night when you take the time to comfort them. DD did not do well with cry it out she just randomly wakes up like windwithfingers said and screams like she just continues to be upset and the only reason she stopped was because she passed out.
Haha. It's his brother! Even worse than his cousin. I think his dreams were crushed about some bodybuilding show and he's given up. There have been no hilarious videos for some time.

I agree. However I will say that prior to my horrible CIO experience it would take DS an hour of feeding and rocking to go back to sleep in the MOTN. Now, typically, I just have to pat his back for a minute or two. I'm not saying I would do it again but still it's notable.

Like I'm not 100% down with the whole "you will ruin your relationship with your child if you CIO," but shit. He really did keep waking up like he was looking for me, all frantic. No, no. Mommy's here. You can sleep with me until college, it's fine.

Yeah for sleep. Must have been something in the air. A slept 8 - 3 last night. She has NEVAR done that. Hoping for a repeat tonight for both of us!
