I used to play drums in a punk rock garage band in high school. Now that I rock the frumpy mom look on the daily, most people wouldn't suspect it about me.
I won a contest via Nickelodeon (the television station) as a kid. As in, I sent in a postcard for some random drawing and they pulled my name. We got an all expense paid first class trip to Orlando, including VIP access at DisneyWorld, Epcot, and Nick Studios.

For me something you might not know about me is that i have Photophobia which makes me extremely sensitive to light. It is genetic, my mom and grandma both have it too. I have to wear sunglasses outside until it is damn near dark and every window in my house has blackout blinds and blackout curtains on it. Even artificial light bothers me sometimes if it is too bright or really florescent. My SO jokes about us being vampires lol but he has gotten used to it. It kinda socks but i am used to it so it's not even a second thought anymore. What made me think about this was because i had left my sunglasses in my car last night when i got home from work cuz it was dark so when i left for work today i basically had to navigate to my car with my eyes closed and ended up banging my damn leg on the side of my car really hard and now it hurts and i have a bruise meh stupid car, just came out of nowhere lol

I hate stickers, nametags or anything adhering to me. I've always been this way- my mother started noticing it when I was a toddler. I would throw myself on the ground and cry and when I could speak I would tell my mom I could smell the stickers or feel it crawling off me. Very strange I know.
Thats not very neat or cool. But I feel it's unique.
I can read music and have taught myself to play the piano, guitar and violin pretty extensively.

I once ran a 126.2 mile ultra marathon on a team of six women from Baton Rouge to New Orleans along the Mississippi River levee. The whole thing took us about 27 hours and I ran about 22 miles broken up over six segments. It was the coldest night of the year and a miserable/wonderful experience.

I did my graduate thesis on this old woman's house and she went BSC when I was finishing and ended up suing me and the university. I had to get a lawyer (who helped me out for free thank god) and it took about 3 years I think to finally get it all sorted out. I never gave her exactly what she wanted though I let her think that I did. Crazy bitch.

katydid2015 that's crazy. What was it that she went bsc and sued you about?
It was a few stupid things but one of the main ones was that she was supposed to take pictures of the inside of it for me to use in my thesis, I gave her a deadline I needed them and she never got around to it so I used pics I took for my own use during the project. When she saw the draft (that she demanded to see) she flipped out. It took her a year after I was done and graduated to actually file the suit (her son is her lawyer), we went back and forth for a year or so, then the suit was put on some kind of hold for a year, then she reinstated it and started after me again and a few months after that we settled. My school publishes theses online and she wanted it taken down and then she wanted copies of all the measured drawings I did of her 5,000SF+ boarded up historic house (because she wanted to give them to an architect and not pay someone else to measure it) so I gave super low quality shitty ass PDF's, which an architect can't do shit with. If she hadn't gone all crazy bitch then I would have gladly given her whatever she wanted.

I applied for and got a call back for the reality show, Survivor, back in 2002. I really believe that I didn't get any further because I had a boyfriend at the time (I was only 22) and the woman asked me what I would do if I met a guy on the show that I liked better than my boyfriend. Basically, would I be a Slutty McSlutterson? Of course I said no, that I loved him and was committed, blah blah blah. Never heard back from them after that.

I can pick things up effortlessly with my toes and can write pretty well with my feet. This is particularly useful right now as bending over is currently a bitch.

thenetwork: This reminds me of the minivans with the "I used to be cool" bumper stickers. I love it.
You guys are far more interesting than I am... I'll have to think of something and get back with my own.

Oh, that is awesome! I wanted to do the Ragner Relay at some point, but never committed to a team.

Jealous! I don't know how old you are, but I was obsessed with Nickelodeon as a kid - especially Nick Rocks and You Can't Do That On Television.

Yikes. I'm surprised your university didn't cover legal expenses for you and your faculty advisor. Glad you didn't have to pay, though.
I'm nosy, too. I was thinking she was a hoarder, but then I was thinking you were doing something with architecture…
One time I got to pet a baby white tiger in an (almost) abandoned mall. I got in the cage with it and it laid next to me while I pet it. They were doing a fund raiser to pay the water bill at a tiger rescue during a drought near where I live, and I couldn't pass it up!

I have insanely good hearing. I can hear phones vibrate a room away in someone's pocket. It's great sometimes but horrible others. Sometimes I have to put headphones in just to block out the sounds from outside.
I worked at a bar during college. I went to a huge SEC school and the bar was right downtown - it was a really fun time. I was getting my masters in tax accounting and kept a copy of the internal revenue code behind the bar. My friends would come in and study. My regulars at the bar were surprised I was in accounting and my professors and classmates were surprised when they found out where I worked. I really miss it...
