My maid of honour/ex room mate/ former best friend hasn't spoken to me since my wedding (in 2012) because i shouted at her for disappearing for 2 hours to get high.
I did a weird array of sports/hobbies in middle school (I think I was trying to find myself). I raced soap box derby, was a member of a bow club and shot bow and arrows, ran cross country and was a cheerleader. That's about as interesting as I get ;-)
I skipped first grade and ended up graduating high school at 16 and undergrad at 20. I'm so smart
Me too - well I skipped 8th - and had a late birthday so was aways 1-2 years younger than my friends.
Would you ever let your kid skip a grade? I don't think I would. I hated being the youngest in the class - and not driving until right before HS graduation and not being 18 my first year at college sometimes sucked.

I skipped 6th grade, and I would totally let my kid skip if he needed it. I was bored out of my mind in school! It helped that when/where I grew up, I could get my driver's license at 15, so it didn't feel like I was too far behind my friends. I ended up graduating high school at 17 and undergrad just a few months after turning 21. It was all worth it
Like toastercat I can pick stuff up with my toes. It is very helpful right now.
I am a better shot with a gun than my husband.
megaugust10 and toastercat - how can you pick up stuff with your toes?? I feel like I get insane foot cramps whenever I point my toes even a little bit.
I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating, I lived in Germany for 3 years (13/16 y/o) and we did school field trips to the concentration camp, Dachau. It's really stuck with me over the years.
We also did a lot of traveling while residing there, so I've been to Greece, Holland, Amsterdam, Italy, Paris, and have seen some very cool churches and castles along the way.

My toes can seperate. My mom calls it crab toes. I can pinch with my toes as well. I have always been able to but only my right foot I can't do it as well with my left.

I went to school in Switzerland the summer of 2001. The city the school was in ended up being a major hot-spot for Al Qaeda and planning 9/11. We were high school age and went all over the city by ourselves just being dumb teenagers. It's weird looking back on that and realizing we were right there and had no freaking idea.
When I was really young, I could speak french fluently because I was in an immersion program. Then we moved to NOVA, I went to a regular school without immersion, and lost it all.
Other than that, I got nothin'. Some of you ladies have some awesome talents/experiences.

I never actually skipped a grade but i started kindergarten a whole year early when i was 4 so I'm in the same boat as the rest of you early graduating birds. I always thought it sucked too actually but when i graduated i was glad i didn't have to wait another whole year!
Oh i forgot about this one... I grew up with Nick Hogan (Hulk Hogans son), we graduated together (sorta since he was in jail during graduation lol) and i know that whole family really well and met a lot of random famous WWE wrestlers through the years. I have absolutely no interest at all in wrestling so it really was not that significant to me lol and i was shown in a few episodes of Hogan Knows Best.
I also attended a "My Super Sweet 16" party. I knew the girl cuz she went to my school but really wasn't that close with her but was close with a lot of her friends. I really found it to be just too much really and the car they showed her getting in the show which was a really expensive Jaguar was actually just rented for the shoe because she actually got a Honda. A brand freaking me Honda that i, who's first car was a 95' Buick (in 2006 lol), would have literally had a heart attack if i had gotten lol but i guess a Honda wasn't fancy enough for the show lol

My first car was an '89 Dodge Ramcharger (think old ass Bronco-style SUV). This was in 2004. The damn truck was 2 years younger than me!
I went to Thailand to do habitat for humanity. One night one of the other girls and I got a little drunk and ended up riding in a cab in the middle of the night for two hours (during which I thought we were being kidnapped) before ending up in a dark back alley and told to go in the back door of an unmarked building. The night resulted in witnessing the most bizarre sex show conceivable and being invited back to the hotel of some Greek oil tycoon. We ended it all with shawarma and were up at eight am the next morning to get back to work. Most surreal night ever. I saw things, you guys. Things the human body should not be able to accomplish.
Add me to the list of being able to Pick things up with my toes.
Otherwise when I was younger I was doing a handstand and making a goofy face sticking my tongue out. Well I fell and bit chunks out of the sides of my tongue that are still very prominent today.
I won a contest via Nickelodeon (the television station) as a kid. As in, I sent in a postcard for some random drawing and they pulled my name. We got an all expense paid first class trip to Orlando, including VIP access at DisneyWorld, Epcot, and Nick Studios.
Jealous! I don't know how old you are, but I was obsessed with Nickelodeon as a kid - especially Nick Rocks and You Can't Do That On Television.
I ADORED You Can't Do That On Television! I'm 33 (will be 34 soon, though. Sigh.)
I got to taste gak AND slime at Nick Studios. Gak tastes like butterscotch and slime takes like apple candy.
I climbed Mt Fuji about 8 years ago with H. It was a horrible experience, but we finished. Barely.
Did you eat the hard boiled in sulfa eggs at the base of Mt. Fuji? Supposedly eating them will increase your life span. I think I ate 3 or 4 when I was there...
It was a few stupid things but one of the main ones was that she was supposed to take pictures of the inside of it for me to use in my thesis, I gave her a deadline I needed them and she never got around to it so I used pics I took for my own use during the project. When she saw the draft (that she demanded to see) she flipped out. It took her a year after I was done and graduated to actually file the suit (her son is her lawyer), we went back and forth for a year or so, then the suit was put on some kind of hold for a year, then she reinstated it and started after me again and a few months after that we settled. My school publishes theses online and she wanted it taken down and then she wanted copies of all the measured drawings I did of her 5,000SF+ boarded up historic house (because she wanted to give them to an architect and not pay someone else to measure it) so I gave super low quality shitty ass PDF's, which an architect can't do shit with. If she hadn't gone all crazy bitch then I would have gladly given her whatever she wanted.
Yikes. I'm surprised your university didn't cover legal expenses for you and your faculty advisor. Glad you didn't have to pay, though.
I'm nosy, too. I was thinking she was a hoarder, but then I was thinking you were doing something with architecture…
Yeah I got my masters in historic preservation (and I have an undergrad in architecture). I documented and measured her house, created floor plans, and designed my own addition for it. I researched the history of it and traced ownership back to before the house was built (which was about 1820s). The house hasn't been lived in since probably the 1950's, doesn't have anything modern in it, knob and tube electrical wiring, radiators, failing plaster walls and ceilings throughout. She grew up in the house and inherited it from her dad and was too cheap to spend any money on it.

We are having a BOY!
I have insanely good hearing. I can hear phones vibrate a room away in someone's pocket. It's great sometimes but horrible others. Sometimes I have to put headphones in just to block out the sounds from outside.
My H and my parents are astonished with my hearing abilities. I can hear a full conversation in hushed voices across the apartment. Then if they say something insulting I confront and they're like "How the hell did you hear that?!"... It has come to the point where everything is now waking me up in the middle of the night. So irritating.

I can wiggle my nose.. Like full on bunny rabbit status. DS thinks it's hilarious. I can also wiggle my ears and I am double jointed in all of my fingers. Also when I was 13 I had a poem published in a book, and I won an award for another poem in a separate contest. I thought it was pretty damn cool.

It can be so annoying! It kind of sucks because it's almost like constantly eavesdropping but I honestly just can't unhear things sometimes. My husband keeps his cell at a volume that I can hear both sides of the convo clearly and it always confuses him.
I will say this skill came in handy when I was a kid though. Always heard my parents coming haha
