Hi I'm one of the awesome four people. We're off to talk to a financial planner this morning and then don't have much planned for the weekend. It's supposed to be nice so I'm hoping we can get outside some.
We had a fun kid free evening yesterday. Today is a lazy day...I'm so happy our baby is taking a nice solid nap in the crib (really trying to wean him off the swing except for those 5 am times).
No plans today. A took a three hour nap this morning. I should have cleaned but napped with her instead. Tomorrow we are going to the zoo if it doesn't rain.
Hey just checking in..there are 7 people today alone!
Just got home from visiting a new baby..she's 2 months old and still a peanut can't believe Emma was once that little. Now "napping"..was tired but not enough to sleep so instead just enjoying some kid free time.

How does one go about getting their LO to nap in the crib? I rock DD to sleep just like at night but as soon as she hits the crib during the day, she wakes up and thinks it's playtime. I used to rock her until she woke up from her nap, but I got tired of that and took to laying next to her in my bed. Now that she's mobile, she's up and crawling the second her eyes open so I can't leave her- her naps are hour and a half- I waste 3 hours of the day laying next to sleeping baby. I think I've created a monster!

DD is still like that in the crib sometimes and DH is very anti co-sleeping now that she's mobile so naps can a struggle some days. To get DD to nap in the crib I either have to nurse her to sleep or DH will give her a bottle and/or rock her and sing to her until she passes out. Basically we just carefully put her down completely asleep most of the time.
If she's really over tired and either fussing and fighting sleep or being playful we sometimes just put her in the crib with music playing and leave the room. She'll crawl around and cry a little but will usually go to sleep pretty quickly. We've never attempted full on CIO but she seems to have figured out how to go to sleep on her own anyway. If she's still fussy after 10 minutes I'll try nursing again and honestly I sometimes just give up if it doesn't work at that point. Skipping naps hasn't been noticeably affecting her nighttime sleep so I figure we're doing OK.

The only way we can get DS to nap in his crib during the day is to rock him to sleep. Apparently he is able to put himself to sleep in the crib at daycare but not at home.

I don't have good advice because I spend about an hour at each nap and at bedtime trying to get DS to sleep, so you'd be losing the same amount of time. He is getting better at "putting himself to sleep" in that I no longer ever rock him until completely asleep as of about a week ago. I put him in the crib and let him play and kick and roll around in there until he cries, then I rock him just until he stops fussing. I repeat this until he eventually falls asleep in the crib. As long as he isn't crying or upset, I leave him and often leave the room to fold laundry, make dinner, etc. *sometimes* this only takes 15-20 minutes. I'm hoping I'm helping him create the habit of putting himself to sleep.
Also, hi! We are having a great time in our vacation, but DS has been a nap donkey in part because its over 100 degrees here and we are paranoid to let him sleep in the stroller/car seat and end up waking him when we check on him or transfer him. Sigh. He was seriously a ham a dinner last night, and didn't do terrible sleeping last night, other than kicking me in the face about every 45 minutes (I was just grateful he didn't cry and wake up my brother or SIL.) Sounds like everyone is having good weekends!
Hi! DS and I went to the beach today with some friends. But it wasn't so damn windy and cold we still had fun though. Hope you all have a good weekend!!
H and I decided on a movie. The allow booze in this theater and H doesnt want me to drink. Also he got pissy with me and had a fit because I bought our movie tickets at the self serve ticket booth instead of buying from an actua person. We are off to a great start. Wtf

Today I give him a bottle right before putting him down and he loves to crash when he has a full belly. He also was really tired after a long morning of play. If that didn't work I would rock him to get him drowsy and then rub his back a little. He goes to sleep really easily for bed but naps are def tougher.

HAI! We have had a super lazy day since it basically rained the whole day. ANB has decided he's interested in stairs, so I have had to put up our first baby gate.
We also slept until 8:00am and when DH went in to check on ANB, he was awake and just standing quietly in the crib. We have no idea how long he was up!

I have no idea. Daycare was just letting her sleep wherever she fell asleep because she wakes up as soon as she hits the crib. Now that I'm staying at home with her I have no idea what to do.
Been a while since I've posted. LO is mobile, army crawling, and becomes lightening fast when he sees a phone or computer. If I don't want him on me or whiny, I can't use either really hinders my internetz time. Work has also been busy, so not much free time there right now.
Overall we are doing good, nothing new or exciting.
We had a scary moment last night when DD did a somersault off of the couch and bounced off of coffee table on her way down Thankfully she was totally OK, just scared, but naturally DH and I were freaking out. She got all of the cuddles last night and this morning too.
On a lighter note, DH recently started a subscription to Time magazine and it's like he's suddenly so enlightened. My quiet H who never has anything to say is sitting here talking to me about the national debt, the dangers of energy drinks and the worlds deadliest creatures. Highly amusing actually
staryb, that's scray about LO's tumble! We have a coffee table with a glass center and John likes to reach over the couch arm to touch it, DH's freaks out everytime thinking LO is going to take a head dive through.
I'm leaving my typo of scray, it can be a combo of scary + crazy ?

Oh no! DS has been doing some acrobatics lately, too, but I have been able to catch him so far. Glad all is ok. It's just scary!
