A mosquito last nigh found blood better than a lab draw technician. I also have Angelina Jolie lips this morning. It will be soooo satisfying to kill that mosquito.
gldnbearz I hope the swelling goes down. My oldest DS was bitten a week ago on his ear. It was really red and swelled up horribly. We gave him Benedryl and it helped quite a bit.
My little man was so restless last night. I finally gave up on putting him in the crib and just let him stay in bed with us. I enjoy the cuddles.
The mosquito bit your lip gldnbearz!? Forget about bee-stung lips, huh? I'm done with my early meeting. I did so good on time this morning that I was knocking on the sitter's door before her shades were even open! I hope that bodes well for the rest of the day. What's up, Wednesday?

gldnbearz did you try any of the tricks to make the swelling go down? My favorite was deodorant but of course that'd be gross on your lip lol. Does cold spoon really work?
Well in just one week's time, ds has learned to stand on his own in his crib. He's been raising himself up on couches, especially practicing at my dads house. But it's so nerve wrecking! SO had already lowered the crib mattress weeks ago because he knew this was coming.
DS loves his star snacks, climbing his parents, playing chase with us while he's in his walker, and chewing his spoon.
lovebuggies12 it is crazy that there are babies pulling up! My LO is in no rush to do anything. He is over 8 months now and will only roll. He can't crawl or even sit himself up without me placing him in the seating position! Crazy kid. He will try to lean against a table while standing if I place him on his feet, but he's nowhere near pulling up.
Today I'm going to get a pedicure during lunch just because I can
l8rg8r DD joined us this morning in bed and slept very nicely for a few more hours. DD still isn't able to put herself into a sitting position so we haven't lowered her crib mattress. I'm also not encouraging it
Today DD has discovered her high pitch scream. She just keeps yelling at everything and then smiling at DH or me.

My Lo is fairly mobile now. He has crawled about 5 "steps" forward so far. He also pulls himself up on everything. We need to lower the crib just haven't because he doesn't sleep in it much these days. He seems like he'd rather walk then crawl. He gets frustrated with being on his knees so he's been getting up on his hands & feet. Baby proofing is going in full effect this next week. This kid is ready to walk out the door at any moment.
Yesterday was rough, Starting on Mon night LO went to bed at 9:30p, woke me up at 1, but by the time I made a bottle he had went back to sleep. He was really awake at 3:30AM, ate & went back to sleep, was wide awake at 6:30AM. Yesterday was rough too, he was a grumpy butt. I still say teeth, but we have yet to see any. I handed LO over to dh at 8pm and I went to bed.
Today, not much. Working. After work is a work meeting. These meetings are usually pointless and it makes me get home about 2hrs later than usual. Ugh. At least they are serving us pizza I guess.
l8rg8r Hopefully the swelling goes down by lunch time.
zengal The mosquito got me on the upper lip, neck, and arm while I was pumping last night. I think the drone of the pump prevented me from hearing the mosquito buzzing around.
lovebuggies12 Do tell about these tricks. I applied hydrocortisone cream to the area above my lip, but not directly on the lip.
I will wait patiently for a walking or crawling baby. She's rocking really good and just can't quite get her legs synchronized yet. Soon enough.
I've been falling asleep with LO the last several nights when I needed to stay up to pump. As a result, I wake up MOTN to pump, which just leads to a vicious cycle the next night.

YES! No rush to this. While it is super cute and exciting, what's not so cute is when LO crawls where he wants, realizes he's far away and starts screaming because he is too lazy or too upset to crawl back. Or when he is standing, my lil guy can pull himself up now too, and gently falls on his butt, causing him to cry. What a baby.

l8rg8r- I definitely had this happen last night. We made it til 4 am then I gave up and had him with us. catlady22- that sounds so nice! I have been fantasizing about a spa day lately lol. gldnbearz- ouch!! Will anything help the swelling? zengal- yay for good timing! MsNicole06- high pitch screams, cute yet ear splitting. ninergirl52- that is what I did as a child. My mother says that I just stood up one day and ran across the room. Skipped crawling all together. Lol I think that's kind of scary! KMW08-pizza yum! Hope you have a short day that leads to a good night of rest.

So update on family thing! DH'S biological father is the one who passed away. MIL never told the other guy that he wasn't his!!!!! She has been rubbing it in his face for years! Now we have to break it to him This sucks. We have a blood test for proof.
Isaac is going through a growth spurt and I am on day 5 of my new diet. So far I have so much energy. I eat kale and spinach on a daily basis and have protein with every meal and snack. Also no coffee or soda and I am proud to say no unpleasantness with bathrooms!!!!
Oh my goodness songbirdsinging55- what a sad thing for other guy to learn. But way to go with the improvements from your new eating habits!! Keep up the good work!!
I haven't been for a while. I do believe my aunt does when she watches him though. I'm also formula fed, that being said I don't know if it's a check on all babies or breastfed ones, but I guess at 9mos they check iron levels.
gldnbearz, I hope the swelling on your lips goes down!
Liam is crawling everywhere! He keeps pushing his limits and his favorite thing to do is chase the cat and/or find our shoes to try and eat them. He is definitely wanting to walk though. He will go on his hands and feet in a down dog position and is really trying to figure out how to stand up. I am not ready. HOWEVER, his body clearly wants to be moving, this makes the babbling/communicating portion seem a little behind. He babbles, but no "babababa" or "dadada" or "mamama" something sounds sort of like mama when he is crying, but thats about it. Lots of bubble blowing and "oooo ooooo" or "mmmmmmmmm" but that's about it. He is constantly "talking" but no progress close to anything resembling words.
songbirdsinging55, bummer about the father. Your mother in law seriously sucks, though. Glad the diet is working well!!
zengal, Liam eats oatmeal. But not rice cereal. He's never had it.

Ugh, this sounds so frustrating. Good luck with everything.
songbirdsinging55 wow. Your mil is a piece of work, that's for sure. Glad your diet is helping your issues! I had my gallbladder removed in 2011 and was lucky to not have to make any serious adjustments, but I know my story is less common.
Staycationing day three: eating potato chips and watching gone girl. H has been taking LO to the nanny family and I've been sleeping in. I didn't get to see my girl this morning so I'm looking forward to pick up in a few hours!

My pediatrician will check iron level at 9 months if baby is still getting > 50% breast milk.
My daycare lady feeds rice cereal plus the fruit and veggie purees I bring in. Not sure she needs the rice cereal on top of that.
Thanks everybody! I keep getting unsolicited advice to feed my baby cereal. I'm not opposed to it, but haven't gotten around to it. That's good to know that iron levels will be tested in two months, though. What about giving a multivitamin or iron supplements? She eats eggs and chicken...
I watched Gone Girl not too long ago. Never read the book, so it was a pretty intense movie for me too. Anyone see Interstellar? I think about that movie all the time now! It's one of *those* movies.
