H is canceling golf (it's supposed to pour rain all day Friday and Saturday), and will reschedule. We're going to find a minivan and possibly finish getting everything we need off of our registry. He's getting really motivated to finish the baby stuff, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Now I need to find the motivation to start washing her clothes and blankets.
I called my step mom to come up. I did nothing much at all today and had no ctx. I go to my daughter's school for an hour and has to stand for a bit and had ctx for 3 hours. Had to take another stupid pill. I hate how they make me feel, but like freckles I feel guilty I can't play as much with the kids and I felt guilty about that too. I just need another adult around to help out. I am not looking forward to having a guest for 1 to two weeks.

Thanks skrittensruemorgangen and mommyofkaylin. I think I'm paranoid because I keep hearing how there have been big babies on both sides of our families. I'm still eligible for store credit if I return stuff in March/April so I like the idea of just washing some and seeing how it goes. Everything we've gotten was on clearance or at a major discount, so I'm not too concerned about wasting money, just having new, unused stuff .

Sorry you are having to take more pills
I've taken 4 today. They don't make me really feel any different... But my contractions aren't really going away. We are going to bed now and we will assess the situation in the am. I feel like my time is near.
The going home outfit post got me thinking. We went clothing-crazy over Black Friday and bought a ton of clothes in NB, 3 mo and 6 mo sizes. Now I'm kind of regretting buying the NB-sized stuff (FTM mistake) and am wondering if I should go exchange it/get store credit. What would M15 do? I thought about waiting until baby is here, but I want to have some stuff washed and ready, and if the NB stuff is too small off the bat, that'll suck.
I don't get the rumor that all babies are in NB for two seconds. E was in NB for 2 MONTHS, and from what I've seen of other people, there are pretty good chances your kid will be in NB for at least a few weeks... it seems to be a fairly small percent that are only in NB for a few days or not at all.

I'm sorry to hear this. You have done an amazing job, so don't feel down on yourself. Take it beyond easy, Don you have one to call to help out?
On the same note as the newborn clothes rumor- some of those nb clothes fit DS until he was around 11lb! I'm trying to attach a picture of DS at a couple weeks old, my first attempt to put 0-3 on him. He is still low in the percentiles for height so he was never a long baby but the 0-3 was way to big to even think about for a month or two (depending on brand).
Eta he was 6 or 7 weeks old in the 2nd pic when 0-3 started to fit.

Yea. DH has been on high alert all day and made dinner tonight. He's even fluffing my pillows when I go to the bathroom. A real sweety. I think he's ready to have his snugly wife back and hold his little girl. His good mood is keeping me from ugly crying. He had a pretty bad day himself so I know he is working really hard to please me.

It seems like everyone is telling me that. One of the nurses even mentioned it in the childbirth class we took! I wonder if they're going based of their own experiences or...? Based on what I've heard here, I'll keep the stuff and worry about it later.

At 6 lbs 14 Oz my son was in nb for a month or two. My DD was 8 lbs 5 Oz and I think I got a month. Depending on blow outs and how attentive you are to outfit changes will determine how much clothing you go through.

My son was 9lbs 12oz and was in newborn clothing from one week to about a month depending on the brand. Some brands' newborn sizing runs much smaller than others.

DS was on the bigger side 9 pounds and 21 1/2" long and even he was in newborn size clothes for a few weeks to a month. He got more wear time in other sizes but I was glad we had those newborn sizes even though he was big. I will add that we got a ton of use out if the newborn t-shirts since he wore those most of the day.
I was laying on my side in bed and got up to pee and I leaked through my fucking shirt!! All the way through my sleeve! Wth?! I've been leaking on and off since 24 weeks, I was so not expecting this..

I finally did the sneeze and pee tonight. But i felt like it was going to happen so luckily i made it to the toilet.

We had our 2nd prenatal with the doula today; I just love her. We reviewed stages of labor and a few things I can be doing to prep for labor/birth, including Spinning Babies Daily Essentials, RRL tea and evening primrose oil at 37 weeks+. Next appt. will cover what the hell we are going to do once baby is home, which I'm really excited about...
A funny point in our meeting was when she said I should start making a list of the daily things I do in the house so H can take over. I looked at him, looked at her and said, "Oh, he's always been the chef and taken care of the household. I have nothing to instruct him about..." I think he blushed a bit and looked relieved. I felt it was important to make a big deal of it as I want him to know he is appreciated, all the time - not just during this pregnancy. He's an excellent caretaker.
Anyway, I learned so much today and with every appt. I'm feeling more and more prepared for birth. I can't believe it's around the corner.
Alewife, I think I will have to remember to say to people that "I have nothing to instruct him about." My DH is the chef and and is quite nurturing and competent, too. So many people make comments about DH "helping" or how much he has to learn and I know it hurts his feelings - we're both first time parents and we will have stuff to learn, but it's not like I have this magical ability or secret knowledge he doesn't have. He knows his stuff. Even some of our baby books talk about "how men can change diapers, too." Uh-huh.

I understand how the assumptions are made; however, as we all know very well - sexism is so frustrating!
We talked about postpartum marriage yesterday w/our doula and she made a great point about the possibility of male PPD, hormone swings, etc. I had no idea that could happen and felt a little ignorant. Sort of related to this as I did not think this was a possibility for men, too.
I am so ridiculously excited for my shower this Saturday. Here's why: I got my H *this* diaper bag and put some "Daddy" books in it (Daddies Are For Catching Fireflies, Because Your Daddy Loves You, Daddy Hugs & Thank You, God, For Daddy) and a bag of York Peppermint Patties (one of his favorites) in it. I got a really sweet card and wrote a very sentimental message in it. I absolutely cannot wait to see the look on his face when he opens up his present! Like, I am more excited about HIS present than I am about any potential presents I might receive (because I don't care about the gifts, I'm just glad to see my family). I seriously cannot wait!
OMG!! This is literally the cutest thing! Are you going to open your gifts and then make him sit down and open his from you?
I told my hostess I want it to be the very last gift and when she hands it to me, I'm going to hand it to him and act like I know nothing about it.
