DS is still sleeping. He chose DH's side of the bed last night so they are currently snoozing together. My stupid body clock won't let me sleep past 6AM.
My parents are back from Florida so they are coming over today to see LO. This means I get to leave the house for a couple of hours and get a much needed haircut.
We've been up since 530, ugh! DS was up for a MOTN feed. I feel defeated because I tried to soothe him but he flipped his lid when I didn't feed him. DH is still recovering and he typically helps since he doesn't have boobs . So I nursed DS and need to figure out how to cut that again. It's a habit we picked up when he was sick.
caer Yey for a little me time and a hair cut. I have one scheduled today too and can't wait. Dreaming A pedicure does sounds heavenly!
LO went back down but I'm up. My mom is coming over to spend time with us and I hope to work on some birthday party crafts. Hope everyone has a great day!
Grumble grumble. A was up once an hour starting at 1am... I gave up at 5:45. I don't know if it's belugas, snotty nose, or what. I'm pretty sure JBBB. He sttn a couple times this week, so I guess at least he did this when I don't have to work next day.
DH wants to do fun things today, I have a distinct feeling that were going to play today & I'm not going to get everything accomplished that I need to this weekend trying to cram it all into Sunday. I'm probably just cranky this morning. I'll down half a pot of coffee before he rolls out of bed.
I'm nursing my baby and pretending she's not turning 1 tomorrow.
Party is prepped-ish. Some things to throw together last-minute, but there always are. I stayed up late making a "healthy" baby smash cake from a Pinterest recipe. It tasted like cardboard, and the frosting was too runny to use. So I threw it away at 11 pm and had another glass of wine. The actual birthday cake turned out fine... so we'll stick a candle in a slice and call it a day. Let them eat cake!
7-12 inches of snow tonight. Oof.
The first cake experience should be awesome anyway, right? Plan B is perfect. Thinking of you guys this weekend! ♥
Argh I tried to remove the chairs from the kitchen table (where the beverages will be set up) and DH won't let me because "people will want to sit there, we have a lot of olds coming". We have two. MIL is going to plunk her (sizeable) rump on the chair in front of the drinks and get in everyone's way, I know it. She always does - that's why I wanted to remove the chairs! Whatever.
Ugh, that's annoying. You should designate a chair for MIL far away from the drinks with a 'Gma' sign. It'll make her feel special and keep her out of the way.
DS was unimpressed with cake. We had a big cake for the group and a little cupcake for him. He poked at the frosting with his finger and ate two crumbs of the cake itself. I was thrilled, more cake for me!!! It was delicious!

@elf828, we busted out the infant gas drops last night too. Little girl woke up screaming and gassy at 3:30am which is highly unusual. Talk about a blast from the past.
Have a great day party people @elf828 and bookshelves.
armfruit, I'm with you; winter needs to end! We're in the path of that storm too but last I checked we're only supposed to get 4-6 inches. Ugh.
Good morning all. I'm hoping to be super productive today since I haven't been able to get much done during the week with my stage five clinger. I have a mountain of laundry to do, vacuuming, clearing out the dining room of shame ... Plus a Costco run and hopefully a trip to BRU to buy a new car seat for LO. Wish me luck.
Dreaming I love to bake, but I can't make a good cake from scratch. I always do box mixes. Consistent results. When I took a cake decorating class, the instructor told me she uses box mix too! I felt validated, so now there are only one or two cakes I make from scratch.
Morning! I am up drinking coffee while W roams around.
My H is at work all day so I'm solo and I have no idea what we're going to do. I hope you have fun today @elf828 and bookshelves! starfisher, my favorite vanilla recipe is called Betty Crocker box mix. And mamosey, MORE snow? Good lord.
Dreaming I just saw the wreath talk from yesterday. I have the same vday wreath as @elf828. (I made it before I knew her, FTR). Those heart foam wreaths can be hard to find this time of year. I had to order online when I needed one a few years ago.

Yeah winter needs to end. So over it. Real feel is -25 this morning.
It's birthday party day! Trying to relax and enjoy it and not stress too much.
Also OMG. We had kept our wedding cards and some keepsakes in our card box. We took them out so we could use the card box and found a $200 check we must've missed from my uncle! How embarrassing. Should I say something? Ignore it? I don't know why they never mentioned it when we didn't cash it or send a thank you, we had a lot of guests and were so busy fro moving we never noticed there was someone we had no gift from that we would've thought would give one.

Oh no bookshelves! I hope you feel better and can reschedule!
Lo woke up only once at 6 am and then slept for another two hours! Saturday win! We might go to the store today and get some snacks in case we can't make it to the super bowl party tomorrow...we are also in the 6-10 inches of snow range.
One thing I forgot to mention about our appt yesterday is that our pedi is encouraging the use of utensils when W eats. As in...hand her a spoon and teach her to use it. So far this means W is using her spoon to fling food everywhere but into her mouth.
