Baby Jogger Vue umbrella stroller - an umbrella stroller that fully reclines was found to be a must- especially if you plan on traveling.
Baby Jogger City Select full size convertible stroller - REALLY glad we invested in this the first time around, knowing we wanted our kids close in age. They'll be 20 months apart so a stroller that could be a single or double was a must.
Tula! - don't waste money on a cheap baby carrier. An ergo is an awesome cheaper choice but I love our Tula.
Rock n play
Fisher price snugabunny swing
Chicco pack n play - the Chicco stuff is way more sturdy/nicer feeling than the other brands.
Chicco keyfit 30 infant seat
Chicco Nextfit convertible car seat - we switched to this around 9 months.
Cloth diapers! I am so glad we decided on these. The CD board on here is great if you need any help or have questions.
Adding: La Z Boy rocker/recliner - I am so happy we got this instead of a nursery glider. It's so comfy and it has been repurposed to our living room and R and I sit in it every day.
Ju Ju Be Bff diaper bag - I just got this for Christmas and it is the best diaper bag ever! I had a Vera Bradley one the first year but the fabric had faded so much, it didn't look very nice anymore.
My first hated being worn (seemed to aggravate his reflux) but if anybody has a carrier other than the Moby wrap you loved, shout it out. I definitely want to try again with this one.
Anyway, the result is that my son was definitely a stroller kid, and our Britax B-Agile had seen a lot of use. I love it. Turns on a dime, easy to push, really simple to fold one handed, reclines all the way so it can be used from birth even without an infant seat.
We had swaddlemes and a Halo sleep sack when he was tiny, which were also great.
See the B-Agile goes on my list of hated items. But I'm 5'9, so it was too short for me and I alway kick the wheels! It's been used maybe 10 times, anyone want to buy it??
Huh, interesting. I'm 5'4 so I think it's perfect, but my husband is 5'11 and likes it just as much as I do. Different strokes, right? Not every baby thing is loved by everybody.
Everybody else loves the Rock n Play (see: this thread) but we had the only baby ever who refused to sleep in it. We gave ours away.

We never had a rnp, we used the Halo Bassinest and really liked it! When he developed reflux it wasn't the best option though.

cbrandt1 I really want the Halo bassinet! But I suspect it'll be more cost effective to buy a pack n play with a bassinet feature and stick with that. That's what we used last time, borrowed from my SIL, but now she needs it for their new baby.
I love the plain white cloth diapers (I think they are Gerber?) I don't CD, but they are the best burp cloths ever.
Totally the best for burp cloths. Receiving blankets work well for burp cloths too since you can't use them for anything else (unless you have a preemie).

I have so many things that are very specific to my child. So I'll put these out there with the stipulation that I could totally see how a normal child would not use them at all.
**My child hates sleep and this is what I needed to get her to sleep.
Swaddlemes-we used these for the first 7 months
Zipadeezips-used these from 5 months to 17 months
Halo sleep sack - finally got the pest to transition to these.
Nuk pacifiers 0-6 months (these didn't interfere with bfing at all for us)
Mybaby sleep machine-it's portable!
Blackout shades for the nursery windows. Just do it before the baby its born.
Any old nightlight. We got the cheap safety first ones.
Baby carrier: Moby or ring sling for the early days, Tula once they get a little bigger.
Nose Frieda. It's gross but you'll be thankful when your baby can't breathe!
If you plan to make your own baby food: ice cube trays and a stick blender. I made it last time around and it was super easy. I didn't need a baby food making kit or any other special tools.
Wearable blankets: I was really paranoid about suffocation when DD was small. These kept her warm (they had cotton and fleece, as well as swaddlers and regular dress blankets).
Thank you! As a hopeful FTM I am going to be checking this thread A LOT!
What about bottles?
Avent bottles!! We spent all the money on Dr Browns and hate all the parts that we have to wash. If you plan on breastfeeding, the Medela bottles worked fine for us! They can with our pump. BM bottles aren't as big as formula so the anti-colic stuff didn't make a difference for us.
Non related, this thread just made me cry a little because it reminds me of little babies and I'm so excited to meet ours. Carry on.... Hormone moment over share.

We loved the Avent bottles - so easy to clean. I exclusively pumped for 10 months and they attached right to my Spectra S2 pump.
Soft Gear foam changing pad. I can NOT enough good things about this changing pad! You can wipe it clean, sanitize it, and it hugs the older babies so it makes rolling much harder for them. You will have lots of poopsplosions, both with and without a diaper. You also have enough laundry to do already, why do you want a changing pad with a cover that you have to change and wash?? Mine is teal.
I got something similar, anti microbial and anti bacterial so you don't have to worry about sanitizing and washing. So convenient when they always have accidents on changing pad.
I love our cloth diapers as well and will be reusing those.
danizee, by sanitizing, I meant using a cleaner to get all the poop off and feel it's clean! I looked at that one too back in the day, but thought the one I got would be easier as he grew. I don't think you could go wrong with either.
Another plus one for the cloth diapers as burp rags. They're nice and thick.
We also used/use a sound machine. We got one from target that was like $20 and it plays noises other than just white noise. We like waves/ocean.
That's all I can think of right now but I'm sure there's more.
ETA: Oh yeah, babywearing! The wraps looked so intimidating s9 I got a K'tan and loved it for when he was little. Now I have a Boba 4g (like the ergo) and its fine but I'm super jealous of the tula.
