My SIL is going to watch LO when I go back to work in a few weeks. I'm thinking I'm going to have to buy another set of everything (pack and play, swing, toys, etc.) so she can have at her house. Anxiety is building!

Would she consider coming to your house? All that stuff isn't cheap!

Good morning ladies! May the 4th be with you! Question for those of you that have NICU/preemie experience - a college friend had her rainbow via c-section last night at 34.5 weeks. Is there anything that would be super awesome to receive as a gift?

I've heard gift cards for local restaurants, snack foods for at the hospital, something to read or do at the hospital.

Congrats on her rainbow! I would say organizing meals for when they get home. We missed a NICU stay, but the triple feeding was hard. Having some meals done and someone to help around the house was a godsend.
So I got the mini pill last week....and haven't started taking it yet. I'm not really sure what my hang up is; I mean I definitely do NOT want to get pg. But I'm dragging my feet for some reason. I know I'm slightly concerned it may affect my already dismal supply, but I can't figure out what else is bothering me about it.

My doc called my Rx in at my appointment yesterday. Haven't picked it up yet, and am in no real rush to go back on BC. Supply concerns, plus just being on a pill every day again has me less than enthused.

Have you heard of the site good tidings.com? My church organized meal delivery via this site and it was awesome! If you have a couple friends willing to go in, it would be amazing. They also have a bunch of options for prepped meals you can just send over.
Heading out shortly on our first trip with LO. 5-6 hr drive. I am super nervous and not excited.
How do they sleep in the car normally? I'd take a long drive with the 8wo over the 3.5yo any day!
She always sleeps in her car seat pretty much but she isn't in it a lot. She is asleep now and we are hoping our first stop will be around 1130-12, but we'll see. The issue is we are in the middle of addressing some feeding issues and she is a super frequent nurser. She only does an few stretches (day and night) that are over 2 hours. I'm actually hoping the ride helps me be able to push her longer (combined with the other stuff we are doing, posted more in the feeding thread). Hopefully the ride continues to go well!
I'm nervous and also happy for the whole weekend. My SIL is getting married that's why we are going home so it's a lot of people and activity. The wedding is day time so LO should be ok with that, the rehearsal dinner maybe a challenge she is so so fussy in the evening but oh well. I also do not care who thinks I'm crazy and over protective, feel free to talk about me behind my back... Her cousin who is 6 months is also coming home and it will be the first time for a lot of extended family meeting her too, so that should help distribute some of the attention at the wedding, etc.
Happy we will get to spend my first Mother's Day with both our families though that is so nice and one of the great advantages of being from the same place as H (even though we didn't meet until after college we went to neighboring HSs)
Edit: definitely having to do the drive with a toddler would be way worse.

carissa325 I'm totally jealous of C's headband collection. We have hardly any... a few crocheted ones with lots of interchangeable flowers. I need all the headbands!

One of my coworkers gave us a gallon ziploc full of her daughter's old headbands!

My script never got called in and I've been very lax about calling my doc to tell them. I dunno why I'm dragging my feet either.

Congrats to your friend! It's nice you want to send a gift. I would recommend microwaveable soups, fruit, and dry snacks instead of meals getting sent. If she's with the baby in the NICU all day maybe she won't want to run out to grab food or buy groceries or go home to eat, she'll want to be by the baby. Or a preemie outfit. Even if the hospital supplies these, they'll need a going home outfit and might just feel good about having him/her in his/her own clothing. Also baby books for your friend to read out loud to the baby during times when they can't snuggle. Any thought counts and I'm sure having your support is a huge gift in itself.
ETA: abort! If you're sending meals or a gift card she can always just pack something, duh! Don't mind me over here.
