We're up after an awful night. Ds puked up medicine each time we gave it. Most of the night was spent cuddled with him and keeping a cool rag on his forehead since he was at 103 all night. Finally got some Motrin to stay down at 5am and he's happily eating crackers and Cheerios watching The Good Dinosaur
So looks like DH's paternity leave will be leave without pay. This sucks but can't be helped since he got sick and has to use his leave for sick leave....
I swear we always break even but will never get ahead. Which is fine but sometimes it's overwhelming.
melody330, I hope he feels better soon, that stinks.
My random is that my neighbors are getting married this weekend. I just tried to find a registry for them and couldn't find anything. WTF?! Who doesn't register at all?! Maybe it's just a UO, LMK. I like to shop for gifts though instead of giving cash, but I guess that's what I'll have to do here!
TnT10 , If they have lived together for awhile they probably don't really need anything. lol
I would normally agree, but their house it a hot damn mess ALL. THE. TIME. H was just in there yesterday and was saying there's stuff everywhere. Maybe organization items?! Haha I'm being a judgey asshole here, that must be the 5 hours of sleep last night talking. I should probably just stop there.

You can obviously give cash but you can also give a gift. We got an engraved picture frame and a huge gift basket from the fancy spice store and a few other things off registry. I tend toward cash but give what you want.

I have the opposite problem. I have a wedding shower for a couple at church. They are both like 20 and have a 1 year old so the wedding has been kinda rushed even though they've lived together for a year. They aren't well off (I mean they are young and no young person is) and a majority of the people in our church and their friend are low-middle class. Yet 90% of the items on their registry are like $100+ and even the smaller things are pricey.
I promise you that $40 measuring cups don't work any better than the cheaper version.
I'm all for getting what you want but I thought it was standard to register for a wide range of prices. I want to get them something but I can't swing $100, but I don't just want to buy one small thing either.
housecarder, is there someone else at your church (or two people maybe) that would go in with you on a higher priced item? That's my go-to approach when everything is out of my price range!

I think I'll just grab a gift card. I'm not staying for the shower anyway because just getting through church is uncomfortable these days, but the groom's mom is the one who threw my baby shower at church so I don't feel like I can skip out completely.

I'm going to AW the girls' Fourth of July outfits. The diaper covers and headbands were from Etsy and I found the onesies at Walmart for $2.88 each! Score.
housecarder that drives me nuts too! I tried to edit my original post but failed... I was going to say that registering for your wedding is fun, why not do it?!? It's just weird to me, especially because they seem like the gift grabby type. Here I go being judgey mc-judgerson again!

It's ok, I do it too. In my head when I saw the fancy China and flatware sets I thought "when are you going to have time to have a that nice of a sit down meal?" But then I thought that maybe they'll host thanksgiving or Christmas. I just never bothered with that kind of thing because I'd rather have practical stuff I'd use more often, but if they prefer China and silver then that's on them. They can take my gift card and buy half a place setting.

Getting ready to go into the dentist for a cleaning then I have to stop by the grocery store on the way home. After that I am free for the day until I have to pick DS up.

I'm going to a wedding Saturday and was shocked at the prices of things! 40$ measuring cups on their registry too. Wtf. I guess I'm just cheap since mine are from tj Maxx and we're prob 12.99 max. I ended up buying them a few 80 wok bc it was advertised as free shipping. They also had a 199 toaster! I'm so confused!
I lived with my first husband for 3 yrs before we got married so we pit together a honeymoon registry because we didn't need anything. Everyone used it except one person bought us Vera Wang towels...not needes, but are still my favorite lol.

Need to drive down the mountain for a pedicure and to get my brows threaded. Then off to see if I can find a maternity dress for the wedding on Saturday. Driving down and up the mountain (6000 ft gain) has really been taking its toll on me. I get home and just want to pass out. Blahhhh.

I need to go get DS's hair cut and run to the store but I know I'll be exhausted. Walking is a chore these days

Add me to that list, I just went to Target and Kohl's. I just returned items and got only what I needed, no browsing, and now I'm have BX and my back hurts. Eff.

This or a restaurant gift card and a bottle of wine, maybe?

I totally roll my eyes at $40 measuring cups but I can vouch that a $200 toaster is usually worth it. I went through 3 cheapie ones over a couple of years before I splurged on one from Sur La Table and it's lasted us 4 years and still going strong.
Oh another random- remember me always bitching about my coworker that drives me nuts? The 27th is her last day. Yaaaaassssssss. But then I don't know that I will be returning to work after the baby gets here (more than likely not), so now I feel bad for my boss. I had to tell him before we even made a decision which way, and he is really supportive. I just feel like I'm screwing him over, but both her leaving and the possibility of me staying home came out of nowhere. At least I gave him a couple months notice I guess, I also offered to fill in from time to time if he needs it.
But hall-e-freaking-lujah to not having to deal with her shit anymore. She was a BAD fit in the office for everyone, not just me. And she got caught not long ago gaming, so I suspect that is part of the reason she is leaving.

I feel like I've been overdoing it lately and had a meltdown last night followed by hours of insomnia (which is not characteristic of me, pregnant or not). I called in sick to work today and have to take tomorrow off for an appointment and don't care. I've been in so much pain, haven't taken a proper lunch break at work in weeks, don't sit down to relax in the evenings until 9:30pm because I'm swamped in end-of-year marking. And DH is sick so I had to pick up the slack on his stuff around the house. I want to crawl in a hole and hide for the rest of this pregnancy. Rant over, cake for everyone who got to the end of it!
UO- if you're going to post political shit onFB, be ready to back it up.
Brought to you by a friend who shared and a post of a 36 week premie and said Bernie and Hillary want to move the cut off date to 36 weeks. I asked where she read that and now I'm the bitch. This is the only article I could find even remotely close.

Hugs mama, I have been feeling that way the past few days too. I think it's normal at this point in 3rd tri to start flipping shit because our hormones go nutso and we start to freak about everything that needs done and the anxiety of labor and everything else. Try to relax today if you can, it's important to listen to our bodies when they are telling us to slow down, as hard as that is. Lay on the couch, nap all day, and watch some skanky reality TV!

ETA- does anyone know more about it before I engage this person. Maybe I'm missing something?
I saw that post being shared a ton but didn't click on it. IDK anything about it but it sounds ridiculous that you would be allowed to abort a baby at 36 weeks.
Does anyone watch Scandal?! OMG I'm excited to watch tonight!
I think this is my next binge watch. Is it on Netflix of Hulu from season 1? I'm just about done with Army Wives and need something new. It's between Scandal and The Good Wife
