Ugh, last night was awful. He slept from 3am to 5am and then no more than 45 minutes at a time until 11am. Now it's 2pm and he is still out. It is really hot here, which I'm sure didn't help. Two bad nights in a row. I'm not a happy camper.
We made it to outside of Yellowstone! I am nursing for the first time in our friends cabin. I don't want to wake people up so i don't feel like I am sleeping as well as o want to.

I have this problem when we go to my inlaws beach house. There are always a bunch of people and the space is tight so I am always sleeping light to grab the baby before anyone else wakes up. It's the worst!
My toddler just came over to our bed. My husband is too lazy to put her back in her bed especially because she turned I breads so now we are 4 deep in the bed while I'm feeding. LO just ate then immediately pooped so we are back to square one....

Ugh, hope you get some rest! I feel like I've been sleeping super light to shield the other sleeping people lately too so I totally understand. I'm glad you all survived the drive though!
You know that extra wide eyed look babies get when they are really, totally awake? That is my baby right now. He's flailing his limbs, gurgling away, ready to face the day. Unfortunately for the rest of us it is 2am.

Hope he fell asleep. This is me right now, and I am not pleased. I read your post when I started nursing at 2... did that for over an hour. He fell asleep, I put him down, and 2 min later we have the hiccups and a very wide-awake baby. Hi, 3:30!

My mom always says the scariest sight in the world was a wide-eyed baby at 2am... Hope you were able to get back to sleep :/
I think that wide-eyed look in the middle of the night is kind of creepy. I try not to make eye contact so that DD goes back to sleep faster, but every once in a while I take a quick glance and she's staring at me not blinking. I love her dearly, but that kind of freaks me out.
I'm trying to go to bed but LO is wide awake. It's 11pm and I'm exhausted. He was super fussy from 8-10 tonight which is sooo unusual. I hope this isn't a new normal. I think it was gas but I'm totally guessing since my 2 week old can't use his words yet.
Well my toddler had a runny nose the other day and now I have a full fledged cold and the baby is all stuffy. So I'm sitting In bed holding her upright and nursing on and off. Couldn't even make it a month without getting her sick.
It's 3am here. My poor little guy is having it rough the last several hours. Hasn't really latched to nurse since 4pm on Sunday. This has made sleeping so hard. DH is a trooper & is helping sooo much but he's getting worn out. We're all stressing. ...I'm going to post some questions in the BF thread.
Another night, another angry baby who demands food so he can spit up on me a few times. Worst food chain ever, very inefficient! I actually have to be somewhere in the morning too. Normally I can lie around and do the zombie thing for awhile, but I am getting a bridesmaid dress altered. That is a whole different fun thing... I get to be the 33 year old who just had a baby standing up with all my sister's 24 year old, fit, attractive friends. I do not have high hopes for flattering wedding photos.
I want to sleep because DS is sleeping (yay!!) but my breasts are so sore! I made a little progress with the hospital grade pump but I think I over did it on one nipple -- it looks like blisters formed when I turned the suction up too high. I'm afraid.
On another fun note, my feet are really swollen, like way more so than they were in pregnancy. Did this happen to anyone else around day 4 pp?
GOmamab15 are you feeling ok otherwise? Swollen feet is still a sign of pre-e/high blood pressure postpartum. I had a friend who had it with both if her pregnancies.
It could also just be from all the fluids they pumped you with, but keep a close eye on it ❤️
And ouch about the blisters! I hope they heal quickly

GOmamab15... I know quite A few of us on here (myself included) had worse swelling PP. it's pretty common. What worked for mine to go away was moving my ankles a lot while sitting. I would draw the alphabet with my feet. Mine was gone by two weeks. Gl!!
