Baby screaming inconsolably for 20 min woth my boob in your mouth but refusing to suck on it is not how I want our motn feedings to go. I know you're hungry. But you need to latch on to get the food. Also after all the screaming I then have two awake children.

I remember when I thought I was sleep deprived when DD1 was a nb. So far tonight I have gotten exactly zero seconds of sleep. DD1 was up from 11p-445a for hod knows what reason. I finally got her to pass out on my lap after she screamed for daddy for 20 min (after I sent him to bed because no use for both of us to be up). DD2 has yet to sleep while being put down and has been feeding more than usual because I've tried getting her to sleep in the crib a few times tonight. So now I'm stuck under 2 sleeping humans. And I'm uncomfortable but don't dare move a muscle. Hopefully H is finally getting some sleep so he can let me nap today.

Last nights realization: I now understand bed sharing. DS just wants to be held. He won't sleep in his PnP or crib but will for hours in someone's arms. I dont think we will try it, but it sounds appealing. I hate how horrible sleep deprivation makes everything look and feel. I just want to cry.

Yup. I'm not comfortable with bed sharing either and both our girls have been the type to only sleep when held.
DD sleeps best when held. It sucks. I mean what's the difference?! Why can't you sleep in the bassinet or the rock n play or the pack n play or the mommaroo. We've assembled every sitting/sleeping device possible to get this girl to sleep without being held.
Dd1 and I bedshared very successfully from 1 month to 8 months. She would start in her crib, but we would share after the first wake up of the night. It worked for our family, at the time.
So far, we haven't bed shared with dd2, but she already seems to be "easier" than dd1.

I've been bed sharing with DD, everyone is getting so much more sleep than we did when DS was a newborn. I know it won't last forever. She would probably sleep in the crib or bassinet, she naps in there. It was my choice, she does this weird rapid breathing and sometimes this gasping thing that freaked me out so I rather her sleep right next to me. I have an appointment with the pedi to discuss it.

My favorite was when DD would shake her head side to side so fast trying to find it while I was trying to chase her mouth with my boob. She would be crying and I'd get frustrated. Just sit still!

I love the frantic head shaking, I think it is so funny and cute. Also frustrating if it takes a while to latch though!

I refer to that as her "get after it" face. She always looks so proud when she gets it.

I co-sleep, I have with all of my children. I am a very light sleeper and wake VERY easily. This one usually sleeps in the crook of my arm or a space I have made one the bed. I have the cradle pulled right up to the side of the bed with a bumper pulled up in case for some reason she gets close to the side, but with all 3 that has never happened.

I have always known i "function" too much in my sleep to bed share. With DD there would be times I'd change diapers and put her on her crib (from the sleeper in our room) and not recollect it at all.
I've looked at the side/car style sleepers but i am sure I'd pick up the baby in my sleep and put them in bed without DH or I realizing it.
Omfg. The pelvic pain tonight is almost unbearable. Every time I move in bed or get up to pee, it is excruciating. I don't even want to lay down because I know I'll have to get up again and deal with it.

Thanks ladies. That was miserable. It's still hurting pretty bad this morning. I think I may try sleeping in the recliner tonight instead because I can't handle that again.

So sorry....but I also hope the pain means baby time!!
