@flair Underwood it's so bad tonight!! He literally is screaming if he isn't touching me! I tried going to bed 4 hours ago and haven't been able to relax and even attempt sleep. Freaking DH is snoring away and DD is freaking out in the pack and play while I lay with DS because god forbid if I move again he will lose his shit and start screaming.
DD always wakes up for the day right when we are going to bed. Well, my mom (who is in town until Friday) took her and just brought her to me for her next feeding, so I slept from 11-2. Felt so good to get that stretch. It's crazy the things you appreciate when you're sleep deprived!
I just got woken up by ds who has a fever. I made the mistake of going in there and laying with him to calm him down and give him medicine. Now I'm feeling guilty because baby woke up and I ran from one room, washed my hands then fed baby. I don't have the option to quarantine any other suggestions? Im going to call the doctor in the morning but I'm freaking out with a 4 day old in the house.
I've been up for an hour and a half because C is super gassy. I feel bad for him and have tried everything but all I can do is laugh. I mean, what better definition of parenthood is there - I'm losing sleep because someone else really needs to fart.

H is in sleeping with the toddler. I'm stuck under a sleeping newborn. At least I know looking back I will not regret one second I spend snuggling my babies. Thank goodness for caffeine

mladerri I hope DS1 feels better soon and that Remi doesn't get sick. So hard to balamce being there for your sick baby while protecting the other one. I think you're doing great

mladerri lots of hand washing! Not much else you can do though. Don't worry - you've got this under control.
My 3 week-old baby clearly hasn't gotten the memo that he's supposed to feed every 3 hours like a normal baby. I keep waiting for it to get easier like everyone says it will... but nope, we had yet another night of hourly cluster feeding. I couldn't even spare a hand for posting on the Night Owls thread, though I was reading. Also, baby has become MUCH more vigorous in his sucking. He's pulling big volumes and promptly spitting up half of it. And my poor nipples are killing me again like they did on day 2.

frecklesnbrains I feel your pain with the strong latch. The pedis in the hospitsl who looked at DD were like wow, that's a great suck. Oh do me and my nips know. Also with DD I remember there was a growth spurt around 3-4 weeks so that's probably why you've got such a big feeder right now. For us it only lasted about a week

I spent the majority of my night in an endless routine of him grunting, me bicycling his less, him farting, and then smiling like "yaaaas got that out". Over. And over. And over.
Those post fart smiles are almost as cute as the milk comma smiles.

Lol, this was my night exactly! Sorry you had a rough one too! But you're right, the post-gas smiles are pretty adorable. :-)

DS is sleeping in his own bed and I'm watching Mom's Night Out listening to it storm. I need to take out the last bag of trash for pick up tomorrow but I think I'll do it later hopefully the rain will let up then.

Two beautiful things happened tonight: 1) DS took his first bottle of pumped milk at about 8:30. My DH fed it to him and he chugged down 3oz like it a champ. So now we know that bottles will work! 2) After said bottle baby let me sleep for 4 HOURS!!!! Omg I haven't gotten more than 2 in 3 weeks. I'm now having the happiest 2am nursing session. I'm practically giddy.
Ugh. The past 3 hours I have laid in bed unable to fall asleep even though baby was sleeping soundly. Drives me crazy when that happens. Tomorrow is a busy day too.

Ugh I never know if I should change diaper before or after feeding. I lean towards before so that when she falls asleep after I don't have to wake her. But half the time she sharts while she feeds and then I feel just a tiny bit bad letting her sleep in a dirty diaper.

This is one of the universal dilemmas of new parenthood...
