Guise, I am dealing with horrible diaper rash. We did naked time so much this weekend and his little butt is just so raw between the cheeks. I know it was from when he had diarrhea with the flu last weekend and it's just not going away even with the rx burn cream our Dr. gave us last time.
I am trying ONE more product before I go to the doc... his well child visit is on Fri anyway so I may just move that up so the doc can see his butt and help me with it. His DC teacher recommended Resinol and it has rave reviews on amazon, so I'm trying it.
As far as ggandlee's butt balm recipe.. can I substitute micronazole for lotramin? Or is lotramin particularly good for butt rash?
Lotramin worked amazing on its own for us. Butt paste was crap. We actually saw results the sane day. If it's a yeast rash none of that other crap will touch it.
Good morning everyone. I've been lurking the daily thread and responding in the fluffier posts lately, but I think I'm back. I took last week off from everything – cooking, hanging out with friends, returning phone calls. It was definitely needed, but I think I'm ready to rejoin the world again.
We have another snow day here, so MH is home. I'm making creamy mushroom pasta with turkey sausage now, and cleaning the linen closet while Josie sleeps. Good steps forward.
I hope all the sick babies and mamas are feeling better.
Oh, and I have a new baby niece. She was born on Saturday after what I'm sure felt like the longest labor in the world to her mama. They still don't have a name yet, and it's driving me insane.

Morning everyone!
I hope all the sick mom's and LO's are feeling better soon. And those of you stuck under insane amounts of snow stay warm and dry (along with your houses).
Not much going on here. I have a meet set up with someone from the local FB consignment site to pick up a play kitchen for E tonight. I hope she likes it. She loves playing with some random play food we have been given. Also, not to irritate anyone (ahem) but I think I'm going to buy E an AC. But that's all I'll say about that.
Other than that I'm dealing with my first period with the Mirena in. So far it's so much better than before when I felt like I was hemorrhaging to death once a month. So thankful for that.
Morning, all! More painting here. We hit bare drywall yesterday when we removed a superfluous phone ring device. Yes, this puppy hung in the hallway and rang like a fire alarm when someone called. Because that's exactly what you need to hear a phone. Too bad THOSE don't make a noise or anything... Those crazy hippies from the sixties! What did they think of next?!
I realize that last sentence reads like I just took a hit of LSD. All my sorries.
Anyway, hitting bare drywall in a house built in 1967 makes me realize we're probably exposing ourselves to lead paint. It was just one small section; can't be TOO bad, right? Like, my teeth aren't about to fall out of my head or anything, right? Guys? Hello?
Well now I'm just a little freaked out.
Just don't eat the paint chips! Sadie is at higher risk than you and YH though, just because kids put everything in their mouths. Just be sure to clean it all up and try to keep her away from it. She would have to eat a decent amount though in order to need to do anything about it though.

Hi ladies,
I thought last Friday was going to end with a birth--but it didn't. I had contractions all day long, 20 minutes apart, growing in intensity. DH and I went to Costco and I was absolutely that chic stopping every so often, holding onto the cart for dear life and breathing through the discomfort. I also ate two hot dogs because, why not?! Went to bed early, and woke up the next morning with no baby . Bummer.
So I spent this weekend stocking my fridge for my post-partum Whole 30. I have 15 pounds of shredded spaghetti squash and four heads of califlower rice frozen into individual servings in my freezer, along with a few freezer meals and close to 30 pounds of meat. I'm ready and excited. I spent the weekend lurking the Parenting thread for inspiration. Good luck to all the n13 moms--its amazing and worth all the planning.

Triple Paste AF worked wonders for H's diaper rash/yeast infection when nothing else did. It is only available on Amazon and at select CVS stores. HOwever, I paid like $6 for same day delivery--it was on my doorstep by 7 pm at night. GOOD LUCK. I know how awful it is!!
I was MIA for the weekend. We had a jam packed schedule and instead of using my little free time to check in here I played my new game addiction- Match the Dots.
We did some fun things this weekend. We went to a toddler dance class which was really cool. And on Sunday I met up with bostonmama1978 and Belinda. I'll wait to post pics until she okays it but we had a great time.
I'm here now though and snowed in again. Another foot and a half through today. It is already taking me double the amount of time to get to work lately so I can't imagine what this will do to my commute.
How was your weekend? @motherefffer any update on Si? How are are the sick babies doing?
As for me, busy weekend as well. Snowed in at home today, working though. I'm not sure where this freaking snow is going to go. Our driveway already looks like a frozen tunnel. Mother Nature, please show some mercy!

Ordered! Thanks. I am going to have a small arsenal of rash creams on hand...
So I'm bored at work so obviously that means online shopping. I'm looking at spring/summer clothes for Layla right now. Last summer we were all about the romper but I have a question.... I know they make rompers in 18 and 24 months, but do you think they look too "babyish?" I know this is probably a stupid question, but I just want her to be comfortable but also look cute. So what do you ladies think? Rompers at 18 months... yea or nay? Also, do the different styles of rompers make a difference? I feel like the Cherry romper is more toddlerish and less babyish...
JEMandtheHolograms I've been lurking that parenting thread too. I've gotten so much inspiration from it. I made four spaghetti squash last night and was shocked at how much each one yielded.

I like the cherry romper, I think it would be cute with the right sandals and a hat. The other romper I'm not so crazy about.... I agree with your 'babyish' thoughts...
mskatiep I totally plan on V wearing lots of rompers when it gets warm. I don't think they are too babiesh at all, although I have yet to come to terms with her being a toddler versus a baby. Those are super cute.

@elvk583, its crazy how many 'noodles' you get. I'll let you know how the defrost part of my plan goes! I've done a few Whole 30s, but never with this much freezer prep ahead of time!!

Triple Paste has always been our go to for a diaper rash (unless it's a yeast rash). I've found it at BBB.

I agree. I'm planning on getting Hannah rompers for this summer.

pinkaliphant, the normal TP is everywhere, but the AF version (anti fungal) is limited. I guess I should clarify, in my area, it is only sold at select CVS stores or online through Amazon. make sense?

Stuck in quote box.
Sorry it totally makes sense, I didn't realize what AF meant. I was talking about the normal kind. I wish I knew they had that before!

Hmm... my husband just now tells me he pulled a paint chip out of her mouth about the size of a quarter. Where she found it is beyond me because I swept as soon as I was done sanding. How much is too much, and what's a good course of action if we need to do something?
P.S. Thanks for the input!
I would definitely mention it to your pediatrician at her 15 month visit that you are doing some renovations in your home with a history of lead based paint, and that she has gotten ahold of some paint chips. They should just check a blood lead level.
Hope all the sick moms and babies are feeling better today, and that the north-easterners are staying warm! The area where my parents' vacation house is has received 49" of snow in just the past couple weeks, with more coming yesterday and today. Crazy. You are all welcome here in N FL anytime
RE: "babyish" clothes, I did some spring shopping for B last week...I'm not ready for him to be in all "big kid" clothes, but certain things do look babyish and he's so boyish-looking, I feel like he'd look silly. I'm still doing jon-jon's for him (as long as he's in diapers) but no more bubbles.
We had a nice weekend...nothing eventful, just made some progress around the house. Painted our front door (goodbye, red!), hung a new fan on our back porch, and installed a new non-wobbly toilet seat in our master. It's the little things, right? Today I'm making a Valentine's wreath for the front door, and probably going to Target for a few things. Now that we're off bottles, we need more sippy's.
Random, but do any of y'all sew? I am thinking about trying to learn and buying a simple/basic machine. I'm not so much interested in clothes, as I am being able to do window treatments and whatnot. I'd be interested in y'alls experience or recommendations.
mskatiep Team Romper here. I really like the cherry one and prefer it over the other. I do also agree that the cherry one looks less "babyish", but I'm sure that Maggie will probably wear both styles of romper this summer.
OH! The most important thing! We ordered our new appliances. No more cooktop with sloping burners, and no more smelly, slimy dishwasher (where you know the smell and slime are not yours). You will hear Handel's Messiah's Hallelujah Chorus from here on Thursday when everything is delivered.
LizInFL I sew/quilt! Well, used to, I have barely done anything in the past 14 months. I have the entry level Bernina and I LOVE it! My mom got a Bernina 30+ years ago and said she'd only be able to help me if I got a Bernina, hence why I have a pricey machine..but hoping it will last forever. I'd do some research and get a decent one, there is nothing more infuriating than a broken sewing machine (okay, maybe a broken printer). I'd check out Brother brand, Juki, Singer, or just google for recommendations for the sewing you want to do. Keep in mind that fabric can be pricey, so sometimes buying something instead of DIY is a better option. I've learned this lessons many times!

@lininfl I sew, but I don't think I'm that good. I did however make our drapes!
ljgs1010 I am so jealous of your snow! Ours started melting this weekend :-(
Hope all the sick moms and babies feel better soon!
BIL brought LM to a bounce house Saturday and DH and I went to see American Sniper. BIL did great and it was finally nice to be away from LM. I miss him almost every time we leave, but I was fine this time.
