I don't even know how much snow we got, I turned off my 5am alarm without going for a run. I should probably make sure I can get out of the driveway in case the plow hasn't come yet.
Nothing exciting this week after last week's craziness. So happy to be staying home!!
I colored my hair. Crimson red on the bottom, blond on top. The red bled into my blonde tips a little and I'm loving the pink. About so just pink it up all the way.
Disneyland is the plan tomorrow. But I woke up to nurse Ava this morning and my throat is sore. COME ON UNIVERSE LET ME USE MY PASSES.

I have the busiest day evar today and am not looking forward to it.
Also, I've dropped quite a bit of weight this past month and a half and I don't think I have shirts that fit me anymore.
Please tell me if this shirt looks stupid or too baggy. Dh is of no help because he's a horndog. I couldn't button this shirt over my boobs when I bought it and it was muffin top galore.
Good morning everyone! I really wish I didn't have to work today. I woke up with lots of congestion so I'm hoping it passed quickly. I kept waking up last night for no reason so that was super annoying.
kamakaziartist I think that shirt would look a little better if it buttoned up one more.
@mothereffer take care of yourself today and feel better
wedding snow sucks! I hope your commute isn't too bad.
I haven't read anything yet....just wanted to share what's going on here. That mound in the background is our grill. DH is on his way home because the highways are in whiteout conditions. I'm ready for spring.
@mothereffer, my official prescription is chicken soup and bed. Feel better, love.
@mx2, I'm glad C is starting to eat. How long until you can brush her teeth?
DH is picking up a bagel for me on his way home. Silver lining to all of this snow. He also spent 6 hours yesterday chipping away at the ice dam on our roof, and managed to stop the actively leaking water -- so now we just have to hope that the damage isn't bad enough to require us to replace the ceiling/bay window. The roof guy comes Tuesday to clear out the rest of the ice dam (DH said it's feet tall in some spots), which I'm sure is going to cost an arm and a leg.
Insurance question -- how expensive does a repair have to be before you, personally, would submit an insurance claim for it? Insurance will cover damage from ice dams (and removal costs), but I don't want to risk premiums going up and costing us more money in the long run. Anyone have any insight?
ljgs1010. I've handled many many homeowners claims. I would get the estimate from the roofer and if its significantly more than your deductible I would file with insurance. With the amount of snow that's been falling they may be considering this catastrophe claims which typically means they won't affect your premium or be held against you. It depends on the company though. I would also make sure to tell them that yh cleared all the snow prior to this last storm (Iirc you said he had been keeping up with it) or they may try to hit you with two claims which means two deductibles.
This is super helpful - I appreciate it. Yes, we have a roof rake, so DH has been raking the roof after ever storm, but there's just so much snow that it's impossible to keep up with (and when it melts and then freezes overnight, there's not much you can do until you can get a roofing company out).
I'm at work, procrastinating. I didn't check email all weekend and am going to pay for it today I think.
I'm starting Whole 30 and LOVE black coffee with canned coconut milk and cinnamon. I could drink coffee like this all the time. I think Cherhorowitz suggested it, so thank you!
Our baby monitor is not working, we have a Motorolla video monitor and this is the second time it's broken. They replaced it since it was still under warranty, so I need to call today and see if they can replace it again. So frustrating.
Cadence slept like crap last night. Which means so did I. She kept waking up screaming and kicking. At 4:45 she decided she needed to have an impromptu piano concert on her kick n play piano. Yay. I finally convinced her it was time to sleep not play, but once I got her to sleep it was maybe 20 minutes before the screaming and kicking started again. No fever, but I'm wondering if her ears aren't giving her trouble. I'll see how she does today at dc and tonight. If it is much of the same I'll probably take her back in to get her ears looked at. Ear infections can occur without fever, correct? She is also still drooling like crazy and her nose won't stop running. Maybe all of this is due to the damn canines? I feel like I have a newborn again and I'm completely clueless as to what is going on with her. I just rock her and tell her it will be ok. Even though I have no freaking clue.
FFMC: I have never heard of a "roof rake" ljgs1010 nor have I ever even thought to try and get the snow off of a roof. This is just another reason I will never live somewhere that gets a ton of snow.
kamakaziartist I think the shirt looks good, and not too baggy. Quick question though, where did you get your bed spread??... I LOVE IT!
mskatiep, it's only an issue when you get this much snow in a short period of time. In a worst case scenario, if you have a flat roof, it can collapse. Usually, it's just a leaking issue. Roof rakes allow you to rake the snow from the roof while you're on the ground.
I hear DH in the garage using power tools. I'm kinda scared to find out what he's doing.
ljgs1010 ahh that is probably why! We do not have flat roofs (on homes) in Kansas. Makes total sense to me now, all that water with no way to run off. I hope that your insurance is helpful!
MH just got the call offering him the Job! Since its a promotion within his agency it will be a pretty smooth transition. He will officially take the reigns in about 30 days!
Aaaand I was the second person in the office today. There are now about ten maybe? There were only 3 of us for awhile, so we made bets on who would make it in and joked about TPing the place. I guess now I have to work...

Guise, I am dealing with horrible diaper rash. We did naked time so much this weekend and his little butt is just so raw between the cheeks. I know it was from when he had diarrhea with the flu last weekend and it's just not going away even with the rx burn cream our Dr. gave us last time.
I am trying ONE more product before I go to the doc... his well child visit is on Fri anyway so I may just move that up so the doc can see his butt and help me with it. His DC teacher recommended Resinol and it has rave reviews on amazon, so I'm trying it.
As far as ggandlee's butt balm recipe.. can I substitute micronazole for lotramin? Or is lotramin particularly good for butt rash?
