Re pads: I'm a heavy bleeder and had heavy heavy bleeding after delivery (my nurse mom said she hadn't seen that much blood before) so I'm probably a horrible benchmark but I probably used a pad every couple hours. My bigger concern were the clots I was passing so I really had to watch.
Has anyone else found that their anxiety has gone way up recently? I have a pre-existing panic disorder but it has been well controlled this pregnancy despite being off meds. Over the past couple weeks I have felt suddenly panicky a few different times and I can't figure out what's going on.
And now I'm trying to build a new registry from scratch but no matter what category I click on, all it does is bring up ads. Fine, Target, don't take my money.
They're doing 30% off apparel sale today- so yeah everything is going to go to shit. Just like cartwheel did when they did the Memorial Day offers, and like it did with the cyber Monday offers... Get it together target.
Re: pp bleeding, I had bought those huge heavy flow overnight pads and it was 100% overkill. Regular overnights, or even just the long pads with wings totally sufficed. I am having trouble remembering brands because between these kids of mine, I had only 6 cycles in the past 3 years. I can't remember the last regular pads I bought!
I know pp bleeding is pretty highly individualized but it does sound like our collective experiences suggest that it SHOULD be similar to period flow. Just gonna last longer. Mine was about 3 weeks, with a weird surge at the end that behaved like a normal but shorter period, pushing almost to 4 weeks total. And that was it.
Also, thanks everyone for the shared sigh of relief about my stubborn inside child. My best guess is she had been rolling over and finally ended up facing my back again for awhile. I tried all the usual tricks yesterday and just could not get any real movements from her. But, something kinda funny now, after all the BH I have been having, I didn't have any yesterday at all. I feel a little nuts up one side and down the other!
My PP bleeding is way heavier than my periods. It sucks, but I definitely need the huge pads for a while. Maybe this time will be better.
I am making pineapple upside down cake for the cookout today, and it smells soooo good. My sister also made chocolate covered strawberries. I think I would pretty much be content with just eating desserts today.
An older gent, I'd say late 60's, at the supermarket stopped me to say congrats and tell me how beautiful I was and just kept talking. Then he said "I always thought it was 36 weeks, but my oldest daughter told me its 40?" And I told him yes, it's definitely 40. "Did it change it from 36 to 40 recently?" Hehehe- yeah that's what happened.

Man it sounds like everyone's PP flow is different! I guess I should prep for either way. I need to try to find my pads now - I don't even know where they are! I think I moved them under the sink in the guest bath to make room for some cleaning supplies
I wonder if they used to consider 36 weeks full term? Or maybe he was thinking 9 months x 4 weeks/month = 36
Or maybe they didn't count the first two weeks before? And uhhh not sure about the last two:)
I also think people used to count more in months so 9x4 weeks theory seems to make sense. Now when older people ask how many months I never know how to answer bc I've gotten used to weeks. Wonder if the counting in weeks is a newer thing?

There are plenty of things I'm going to miss about pregnancy, but let me tell you I'm not going to miss helping a preschooler steer, brake, and pedal a bike (with training wheels) several blocks for the neighborhood July 4th bike parade. But hey, I survived and my sugars have been amazing all day as a result of the workout. Plus she won a pool float for her festive outfit and was over the moon. She's been begging for a raft for our pool's weekly raft night all summer and this 4' long fish raft totally fits the bill.

I've been in major nesting mode all weekend. I've washed and oraganized clothes for baby girl, finished decorating her room, brought all the tiny things downstairs for while she's hanging out in our room, and sanitized bottles. I also went and bought a few leftover things on our registry. I'm exhausted, but feeling super content.

He was definitely thinking 9x4 because then he mentioned that 40 weeks means I'm actually pregnant for 10 months. So I told him that there's really about 4.3 weeks in a month so it ends up being 9.

Combined the Target buy 2 diaper boxes get a $10 gift card offer with the spend $150 on baby stuff get a $25 gift card offer and got all the diapers we'll need for the first little bit for DD3 plus some slip on diapers for DD2 (who desperately wants to use the potty but isn't ready for full on PTing yet). Not quite as good a deal as Costco's coupons, but I'm willing to pay a little more to get the diapers we really prefer.
Wanted to pass on the PSA to anyone else looking to stock up.
Super pissed at my ILs right now. We brought over the clothing from our shower to show them (they couldn't come to our shower, which was hosted by my family, because of FIL's recent surgery). They started making fun of some of the clothing (like a really adorable jumper my aunt bought, that FIL just didn't like, or some onesies my other aunt got us in France that are cute but really tiny so they may not fit. But still, it's not like we're going to return them.) Then MIL started criticizing things people got because she thinks they'll be out of season when it's time to wear them. Because apparently she's an expert on baby clothes sizing because she raised two babies 30 years ago. It's not like these are things we can return/exchange, so there's no benefit to her expressing her opinion. All it does is make me less excited about the cute gifts we got. :-(
I am sorry bocaburger, that sounds annoying. Don't think anything else about it. Just make sure you get a picture with the babies wearing the clothing you got, as long as it fits and you are good. I have some out of season clothes too. But hey you never know how August or September could work out, it could be cold and you will be happy you have them. Honestly people don't think about seasons when buying clothes. If they are cute they buy them. Don't let your ILs effect how you feel!

I had $33 in gifts cards & store merchandise credit from them. I used it to buy some items I never got on my Amazon registry. The mobile site was having issues at the time recognizing any gift cards as valid so I ended up having to call to place the order. Anyway that was all fine & I got an email conf that the order was successful with an actual conf #. I thew out the gift cards.
The items were supposed to come a week ago. When they didn't come by Wednesday I called bc clicking on the email to show order status said no such order. The rep first said no such order at first too then she found it eventually saying it was stuck in the system. It never made it to the "other" system. Ok .... She said she was going to open a ticket with IT & I would for sure hear back in 48 hours, she gave me a case # etc.
72 hours later and no response so I call Target. This time all I get are ppl who don't speak English well and nobody understands what's going on. I keep getting transferred or asking to speak to supervisors but nobody understands, they just keep saying my order is invalid. One girl said she could cancel the order but the credit would go back to the gift cards that I threw away. I tried to explain I would need it on a new GC number and she was like uhhhh and didn't know how to respond. She transferred me again and then after 15 min of hold music I was auto disconnected.
This whole phone call was like 90 min total before getting disconnected. I'm so dang frustrated and don't know what to do ;(
