The ac tech called while I was putting w down for a nap and because I didn't answer he headed to his next appt. So now I wait. I have so much to get done today but instead I just want to hang in bed.
I'm applying today too and I find it highly pointless to fill out all of the online forms about work history and also submit my resume. Dude. Just take the resume.

Yes!!! And then how you need to register for all the sites to just apply for the job. Isn't that why I'm on career builder?
I'm considering getting a trial subscription to one of those online meal plans that delivers the ingredients to your door for you to cook. I usually buy the same things every week, and it gets boring, but I find I'm not really motivated to find new recipes. I figure if it's delivered then I'm more likely to try new recipes.
Am I being completely stupid? It's not really cheap, but the recipes do look pretty good. Bonus is that they only deliver enough for 2-4 people, so if I hate one of the new recipes I won't have leftover ingredients!

Yup. I'm guess this is because no one writes a proper resume anymore? Because I'm literally copying and pasting from my resume into the boxes. Luckily I just have one application to do but the process is so lame.

I've thought about this too and I don't think it's stupid. It's an experience too that you're paying for

I think it's actually so that they can do quick searches for who matches the "keywords" they're looking for. It's such a pita though.

We did a free trial of Hello Fresh. It was neat how everything came pre-portioned, but the recipes were all pretty complex. I didn't mind that part, I like to cook, but even with everything measured out for you they all took 45-60 min to prepare. We didn't continue the subscription because I'm a pretty picky eater and there was at least one thing in each meal that I didn't like. But if you are an adventurous eater and like to cook it'd be great!
joi922 usually you can find a coupon for a free week to those subscriptions too! I think they're a great idea. I'm always looking for new recipes and things to do but it's so much easier to just throw together what I already know. Eta: already been said

I've been considering the same thing for huge same exact reason.

I would do it just to avoid grocery shopping with my three hellions.
I am on a really good recipe groove on pinterest, but in the past i joined a recipe sharing group on fb...that way recipes are being tested by real people.

M had a hellious time going down again for his nap it's so hard to figure out what's going on for him. I am wondering if he is wanting to move to one nap. He literally starts to scream (like hold his breath, red face, rolling over to stand) the moment you put him in the crib. Like sometimes even before he is put down he starts. It breaks my heart

We went to get passports this morning ($400 after the cost os pictures! Ouch). Then We went to a story /song time at a park this morning. It is super hot today, so after M wakes from his nap we will play in the turtle pool.
I'm not exactly sure why, but I totally got sucked into the amazon prime thing yesterday and bought a bunch of super random stuff. Ugh. I love a deal, but kinda hate when I impulse shop like that (hangs head in shame). But two of my items arrived already today! Lol! A video game for DS1 that I will give him for his bday and a veggie spiralizer!! (this I completely forgot I bought but have wanted one for a long time!). I'm off to find things to make with it!!

Good to know! I like to cook and don't mind complicated as long as I have clear instructions. But, I am home by myself for dinner every other week because of my husband's schedule, so that might get hard with two kids around.
I was looking at the vegetarian menu because I was worried everything would be tofu and I'm not a huge fan of tofu. I was pleasantly surprised to see that most of the recipes for both Hello Fresh and Blue Apron (I have coupons for both) are mostly vegetables and don't rely on tofu. And maybe this is the way to get me to like mushrooms

@mrspanpan I tried giving M his milk and formula in a sippy cup the other day (with straw). He was having NONE of it. I do give him some milk and water from sippy cups, but he still just takes very little. And often takes more in his mouth, but then let's it drip out afterwards. Sigh. I will keep trying. Did you start with a specific bottle to replace that you found worker better? I would be so excited to be done with bottles...well washing them anyway!

redandblue, can it be teething? That always screws up sleep for us.
Also I know you CIO, maybe try rocking/bouncing and singing to him to get him asleep? I do a combo of both. I sing and rock while giving a bottle. Then continue to sing and rock, then when he starts to fight it I put him down and let him cry for 5 mins. I then go back in with another bottle and feed, rock and sing again. Repeat until he goes down and rolls over to sleep.
redandblue man that sucks. are you putting him down on a schedule or following his cues? Maybe tomorrow try putting him down later than normal so he's exhausted and then won't have the energy to cry? It's somethin ferber recommended for night but I'm sure it would work for naps too.

@janetheconquerer I only tried a full extinction CIO once. The power struggle won, and he did not sleep. We gave up just over an hour. It was awful. We do more ferber method, with the same routine, and then checks in between. He is so beside himself when I do check, so I give him a snuggle and let him calm a bit before putting him down again. It is so out of the blue, and hard to see him so mad (and that's what it seems like, mad...no tears, just yelling, then turns to screaming) .
packmomma I do try to follow his cues. This morning he didn't seem tired, but ended up with a 10 minute nap in the van. Then this afternoon I figured he would be exhausted. I actually find with him that if he is overtired, it's worse. Like good sleep encourages more good sleep, when I might think if he is more tired he will sleep. DH is off next week, so I'm going to see if it at all helps to have him put him down. I'm starting to feel like some of it could be separation anxiety, as he has become very clingy to me.
I don't see any current signs of teething, but that doesn't necessarily mean something isn't brewing. I'm worried about what it will be like when I go back to work, so hoping we can get it sorted out soon. Sigh.

We used THIS and at first, he wasn't a huge fan. I would offer water and some apple juice (to help him with constipation). I also bought THESE (at the suggestion of @betweenthelines ) and used the straw one. After trying so many itmes, It was like something just clicked. We have tried all of the other sippy cups (spout and rimless), but he doesn't seem to get a lot out of them. I would suggest to just keep offering. He has a pretty consistant schedule so when it was time for his formula, I put him in the high chair and just gave him the straw cup. I think he knew it was feeding time and realized he had to learn!
We have the second ones you pointed out, among a variety of others. He seems pretty good with a straw, so I've even just held an open cup and let him drink with a straw. I've not really given him just the formula in his high chair. I usually have him in the chair for solids and some liquids. I might try the high chair at a bottle time.

It's one pm and baby is refusing to nap. He is cutting two teeth. I must go to the store today. I'm hoping that bribery will save me from a huge shit show.
This is a sesame Street video that always makes me laugh. Elmo has some sass about Gervais being a celebrity and and chorus is fantastic. It's loud though so be ready. youtu.be/Jc20vMz0V7Q
