dc2london - haha, I was actually coming here just to vent some more about that whole situation! In a nutshell, he has been getting paid on time but with a regular check, not direct deposit. However, (I don't know if I mentioned this part here or not) his benefits ended as of May 30th. We didn't know that until we got info about COBRA in the mail. After lots of meetings and whatnot, he was finally told that regular payroll/benefits would be reestablished by their 7/15 paycheck and that the benefits would be retroactive. Well, that didn't happen. He still got handed a paycheck, but no benefits.
I was a MESS about this all on Saturday night and I still am. He has until August 8th to decide to go onto COBRA, but since adding him to my plan would be cheaper, we'll just do that if he's not getting insurance through work by that point. Baby will also need to be added to my plan, which isn't what I wanted. I currently pay $85 per month for health insurance, but to switch to the family plan it will be $416 per month. Adding baby to DH's plan was just going to cost us about an additional $25 a month. Big difference.
I feel like every time I talk to DH about it I just get more angry and more upset (for example, 5 minute ago). He assures me that "everyone is upset and they are doing everything to try to get answers" but I still feel like more could be done.
We are desperately trying to save $ to be able to move down to NC this winter, and now I feel like all of that is going to get pushed off because our budget is going to be taking a bunch of major hits.
