I've had a stomach bug since Saturday. We had to drive home yesterday (350 miles), which was an absolute misery. I think MH thought I was making it up, since I hadn't thrown up and he'd slept through the worst of it on Saturday night, so he was kind of a jerk to me the whole day. Then we got home, I ate a tiny bit of broth, and pooped myself while I was washing dishes. MH was really nice to me after that and let me go to bed at 7 o'clock. So. A++ weekend.
Love tit for commiseration! I have pooped myself probably 5 times in my adult life due to bugs. Hope you feel better soon

@pennygirl2013 I'm so sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed. Can you ask DH to take some more responsibilities to help lighten your load? Being a momma, having a job and taking care of a house are overwhelming by themselves! Anxiety adds a whole new level. Big hugs!

@pennygirl2013 , did you like Bad Moms? I saw it this afternoon.
I liked it a lot! I was glad there was more funny parts then just the previews so it wasn't disappointing. How did you like it?
I liked it! Certainly not Oscar worthy but I laughed out loud a lot (mostly Katherine Hahn's character), so totally worth it! Plus, Jay Hernandez was nice to look at! Yum.
I am sorry that you are having a rough time right now. Please know that you are not alone and it is temporary. You are getting help and that's a step in the right direction. Being a new mom is hard and it's normal to be overwhelmed. Hugs, momma! You are doing a great job raising baby girl!

This makes me feel a lot better. I've only had a stomach virus once before, and I was 11, and this definitely did not happen that time. I was so mortified. And then obviously I ran to tell the internet because that's what I do.
Not often. I can count on one hand the number of times I've thrown up.
That is amazing! I absolutely hate throwing up and will avoid it at all costs. I hate when my kids throw up and do not deal well. Stomach bugs are something I deeply fear. What's your secret???
@pennygirl2013 I'm glad you have a few next steps to consider that might help. A baby, work and clean house is a shit ton to manage, especially on little sleep. Go easy on yourself and hopefully after settling in at work you will fall into a rhythm and some of that stress will be more manageable. You got this!

OMG I have thrown up SO. MANY. TIMES. Not even including morning sickness. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to bed, start to feel queasy, and suddenly need to puke. Then once I puke I feel better. It used to happen like every other month. Then there are all the times my cramps would be so bad they would make me puke. I also have a horrible gag reflex, so sometimes I puke from that. And then all the stomach bugs I've caught....
@pennygirl2013 going back to work is definitely an adjustment. I have found that I feel better when I give myself a pass on house cleaning chores. You know what else makes me feel better? When DH leaves his clothes on the floor EVERYWHERE (bathroom, living room, bottom of the stairs, hanging on the dining chairs, IN FRONT OF the laundry baskets)....I gather it all up and throw it on the floor of his closet
We are refinancing our mortgage and they came to assess the house today. Of course they showed up 30 minutes early and H was napping. M had his 4 month shots today and was fussing the whole time they were here. And the house is a disaster because we have been traveling so much. I feel like such a mess these days. Maybe with the money I save on the mortgage I can get a house cleaner. Lol
Today I got pied in the face for a fundraiser I organized. I wore goggles to protect my eyes and a garbage bag to protect my clothes. Did not think to put anything over my hair.

I smell like an ice cream sundae.
Oh just wait...then you will smell like spoiled milk...

IDK. I hate throwing up and when I feel like I might, I will myself not to do it. I have a lot more issues on the other end, though.
I hate throwing up. I've only thrown up a few times, food poisoning twice and drinking too much alcohol a few times. It helps when I'm feeling nauseous to rub slowly but firmly from just below my throat down toward my stomach as if I'm trying to move all the acid back down. It helps me and I've done that rubbing motion on DD1 and she's only thrown up twice.
I think that I am more tired now than I was during the newborn phase.
DS took a pacifier for about 20 minutes tonight, I was so excited. Then he spit it out and is flat out refusing it now. I was so hopeful.
Agreed. It's harder now because even thought technically sometimes she'll sleep for longer it's less predictable which really throws me for a loop. If she's consistent my body adjusts but every time she changes the schedule I'm in pain for days.
Unswaddling her is not helping. Naps are worse, sleep is worse.
i had to have 4 cavities filled after having LO. They were inbetween molars and I brush well, had little plaque buildup so flossing is the only thing that would have helped to prevent those

I agree flossing is important. My husband works for a large dental company and when I saw that article last week I jokingly told him I wasn't going to floss anymore.

Must try this. I will do anything to not throw up. Do you rub all the way down the sternum?

You will never convince me that flossing is worthless. I never flossed when I was younger and ended up with way too many cavities between my teeth (plus several root canals). If I would've flossed, I wouldn't have nearly as many. I floss religiously now and have for 10 years. Plus, flossing is good oral hygiene! I hate that study.
