I love my brother, but he and his wife are so clueless when it comes to kids and schedules. We are part of a fantasy football league and they want to do the draft this Sunday 3 hours away. It's our anniversary and we got a babysitter so we could go out Saturday (first date since LO) and had a dinner with friends Sunday so we have to cancel both. Then they suggest coming down Saturday to go to the zoo. We agreed because we don't want to drive 6 hours on Sunday, then they tell us they just have to be home from 1-4 for the TV install guys. Um...did you want us to leave at 6am so we can get to the zoo in time to actually spend some time there? Just clueless.
I'm not sure how I feel about keeping yourself from throwing up...it's your bodies way of getting rid of something bad. But it does really suck when it happens!
I had a stomach virus a couple of years ago and needed to throw up. I successfully prevented it but was miserable for way longer than I should've been. A few weeks later, I ended up with colitis. Awful. I'm convinced that it's because I didn't let myself throw up when my body needed me to.
I do not learn though, because I will still try @east's trick next time!
Is anyone else watching Stranger Things on Netflix? DH suggested it and I'm already hooked after two episodes.
DH has been watching it, so I've seen bits. But I'm a huge scaredy cat too, so I can't actually sit and watch it. But omg that one little kid, Will's friend with the curly hair and missing two front teeth...he just might be the 2nd most beautiful boy I've ever seen (1st being DS of course)! I just want to adopt him, play with his curly hair, and pinch his cheeks.
Anyone here from CA? We just got a new employee and as I was talking to her, I immediately realized she spoke funny. Slightly valley-girl-ish. Especially how she kept saying "yawhhh" (yeah). Turns out she moved here from CA. Then I realized her dialect made sense! Sorry if that's a generalization, I know my Midwestern dialect would sound funny to some of you. But OMG I don't know if I'm going to be able to have conversations with her cuz her "yawhhh" drove me nuts!

I grew up in southern CA, and have been accused of having a small valley girl accent. Definitely not to that level though
I feel so adult today. We have had our house assessed twice in the last couple weeks. Once to lower our taxes and again to refinance our mortgage. Between the 2 we will save over $200 a month. I also contacted my insurance agent and got our auto policy reduced by about $500 a year. I finally feel like I'm contributing more as a SAHM.
surprisepartysue, I am there with you. DS has been tossing and turning in his sleep like crazy recently. He does it in the bassinet, which is loud and keeps me awake. He used to stop when I would bring him into the bed with me, but now he just squirms, and keeps me awake that way. Well, that, along with nursing all night.
DD has an ear infection, and this whole past week somehow she is ending up in bed with me as well, and DH goes and sleeps in her room all by himself all night.
I hate throwing up. I've only thrown up a few times, food poisoning twice and drinking too much alcohol a few times. It helps when I'm feeling nauseous to rub slowly but firmly from just below my throat down toward my stomach as if I'm trying to move all the acid back down. It helps me and I've done that rubbing motion on DD1 and she's only thrown up twice.
Must try this. I will do anything to not throw up. Do you rub all the way down the sternum?
I don't know exactly how to explain where to start, I think right between the clavicles on the front. Just below where my neck ends to usually just below the breasts (maybe by an inch or so) Pressing on my neck or on my belly can make it worse but it feels so relaxing and I try to make sure I'm taking deep measured pursed lip breaths.
All of the sudden I feel like I don't understand LO at all. She is crying more frequently but I have no idea why! Her diaper is changed, she has been fed, she doesn't seem sleepy and only woke up from a nap a little over an hour ago.

Who is this baby!? I don't know what she needs.
This weekend my sister was holding DS and he suddenly started crying. Like big crocodile tears. He never cries like ever. The only other time I've seen him truly cry was getting shots. Nothing I did consoled him, until I just put a boob in his mouth. I mean, he "cries" but it's more like whining, I guess? I was like "who are you right now?!"

Boob always worked with DD1 but LO wants to eat and be done as quickly as possible. She's so very stiff when I try to feed her and seems sort of uncomfortable. She latches on and off while crying so unfortunately boob is not the answer with her.

I don't know anymore if we are in a sleep regression, a growth spurt or if our sleep is just totally screwed. LO is back to being up every 2 hours like a newborn for the past week or so and I am so tired of feeding 2 hourly around the clock : ( He's also up from 4.30am - 6am most mornings which just writes the day off.
A woman stabbed a man. She was related to him. Thats all I know for now. A car was blocking drive way and blocked off with tape. Poilce helped get out of my driveway so I could take S to the ped. I was still shakey when we saw the ped.
There were many woman sobbing in my neighbors yard. I feel so sad for the family.
