I'm going to my parent's house for the day to get out of the cleaning crew's way then hosting all of DH's local family for dinner (around 30 people). I'm dreading dinner so much.

We broke out the sleepsuit last night because J came so close to rolling over in the swaddle. He did well in it but I've been up since 3. Surprisingly I feel pretty good.

Good luck tonight! I'm sure you will be the hostess with the mostest!
I'll be thinking of you tonight westiemom! Good luck! Today is my last official day with the elderly couple I've been helping for the past year. I'll miss them so much! I'll have next week to get things in order and start preparing for the school year! I'm excited to be teaching full time this year! This weekend were headed to the lake. It should be fun!
westiemom, you will rock the dinner!! twocents6708, I hope you have a ejoyable weekend!
aaemommy, I find it so hard to say goodbye to people I help/work with. I'm sure they will love for you to visit!!
DS just put himself down for his 9am nap. Last nigth was kind of a shitty night for us. BUT, it's day 2 of weight watchers, day one was great and I'm about to do my 7-min work out! Also, I need coffee!!

I just got my coffee.
DS is still wailing thanks to the Asshats from the electric company who thought ringing the bell 58747 times was a smart idea. Part of me wanted to just hand him to the guy and tell him to fix it. I'm hoping I can he DS calm enough to nurse and that might help.
@frenchtoast, Zika sucks. We are going home for x-mas (Brazil) and I'm SO not looking forward to the amount of repellent we will be using with our kids. It also stopped me from going home for my grandma's funeral in December since I was pregnant. BOOO to zika!
westiemom Good luck! That seems like a lot of people but when I was visiting my family we realized my immediate family of parents/siblings and our kids is more than 20 people!
Both of my children are still sleeping! They both adjusted to Pacific Time and I think it's going to be hard to adjust back. DS2 had a nightmare about pigs the night before and we had a hard getting him to bed last night. He is the king of bedtime stalling, but being scared of having nightmares isn't usually his tactic so I think he really was afraid. I'm up searching for something on our server for a coworker. Work hasn't bugged me too much while on leave so I'm trying to be helpful.
I think the day has come when bed sharing has started to impact ds's sleep. I guess we'll try tonight in the pack and play.
We got a cosleeper (for free!) and it's been great. He's still RIGHT next to me, but he doesn't feel it if we move in bed, and I can transfer him without waking him up.

I took the kids by my office to see some coworkers. I'm a contractor and I've been trying to get hired for months. Well they hired a new graphic designer. And no one knows I'm coming back even though I've talked to my boss about it and confirmed the dates. So now I'm sick to my stomach because we desperately need money and I don't understand why I wasn't considered to be hired. The guy has my desk...I'm just really confused and I didn't have a chance to speak with my boss. If I can't get work we are going to have to sell our house.

Oh no! That's awful I hope you can talk to your boss and see what's going on.

@frenchtoast- Have fun at the play date! That's scary about the Zika.
teraiin- That's annoying! MH actually put a sign up on the front door to not ring the doorbell because we have a sleeping baby. At the time I thought it was a bit much. But now I'm so glad he did!
gahorseygal- So stressful! Hope you get it cleared up with your boss.

I'm so sorry. Have you talked to your boss about it?
Eta. I went back and read the entire post. Whoops. I hope you can talk to your boss and figure out what happened.

What are everyone's favorite board books to read with your LO? Our collection is kinda lacking and I want to order some more for her. Any recs?
We have so many books. Anything Eric Carle. Also I love the books Go to sleep my love and On the night you were born I'm not sure who the author is. They are so sweet. The Usborne touch and feel books are great too.
wanderlust the Dr. Seuss books are always good. A absolutely loves Hands, Hands, Fingers Thumb by Al Perkins. Also Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton. Books with lots of objects/ words (My 100 first words, ABC of foods, etc). Social story books are great as they get older (going different places- zoo, aquarium, museum, library, etc; potty training, school, becoming a big sibling, holidays, etc). A also loves Ten Tiny Toes by by Caroline Church.
gahorseygal I am so sorry. I know how stressed you've been about having a job to go back to. I know there's absolutely nothing an Internet stranger can say to help the situation but I'm thinking about you a ton (in a non creepy way ) and sending lots of prayers your way! Hugs!
