SIL and her fiancé are in town again for a couple of days. In sooooo shy and he tries so hard to make coversatuon with me. I told DH that he should tell him that it's not him, it's definitely my shyness/social anxiety. Lol

You are shy?!!!
LOL not so much online?
But in person I'm horribly shy. Ironic for a former teacher LOL
Am I the only one who isn't trying to sleep train? My kid naps in his swing and sleeps At night in his bassinet swaddled. I have no desire to change this currently.
I'm kind of with you... She's been sleeping really well in her crib at night but doesn't do well in it during the day. So I let her swing nap or nap on the go on the days I'm home or my mom is watching her and daycare is working on crib naps 3 days a week. I did the same with DS and eventually it all worked out. Night time is another story for us... She actually love her crib then.
Sorry for all the tired mamas. Hope you all get some rest and/or coffee today! I agree that sleep def begets sleep. I do whatever needs to be done for her to sleep during the day. If that means naps in the swing or car, then that's what we do!
My toddler has been so whinny the last couple of days. I'm about to lose my patience... What do all the other toddler mommies do to help occupy your older ones? DS is just about 2. We read books, do puzzles, play doh, color, play with toys. He already has more screen time than I want too! It's too hot to be outside right now. Any other ideas? I think he's bored 😕
I forget how old your little guy is. Mine is almost 2.5 and have recently gotten really into imaginative play. We have a Paw Patrol busy book with a play mat and 12 little characters/ vehicles and he acts out little scenes and stuff with them. It's actually sort of adorable but the compromise is actually watching Paw Patrol at least once a day.
He also loves the Melissa and Doug color form type stickers (the vehicle ones).
Probably the best thing we have though is something my co-worker gave me from her son. It's a double sided case that fits matchbox cars perfectly. We already had a ton and she gave it to me filled with cars. I took them all out and have been slowly giving them to him on days where I feel like he need something so he has a new car to play with. He can also bring the whole case to me while I'm nursing and I can open it and play with him.
If you haven't seen a theme, we love cars...
Also, I've discovered he needs about 2 hours of serious physical activity a day. For use that can mean the park, an indoor gym or the pool. I know that you said it's hot by you but any of those options could work depending on the day or the weather.
It finally occurred to me while I'm hungry for all things at night. Because during the day I'm too busy doing things, cleaning, errands, taking care of the baby to REALLY sit down and eat. At night there's only so much I can do (assuming DS is sleeping) so I can sit and think of all the food I want.... And nothing to stop be from snacking like crazy lol
I am currently drinking a bit of wine, after having both kids for night time routine w/o husband tonight. Oh...DS1 did NOT nap at daycare so he was WIRED and overtired and a hot mess. At one point I had two children purple crying on my lap for at least a good 5min (which felt like 1 hours) on my lap. I do NOT know how some moms deal with two babes (or more) at night on their own. If I were a SAHM I would hire evening help for ANY night my DH is not home. From now on DH has to put this stuff on the calendar in advance so that I can have our nanny stay and help.
I know the hell that is when both kids don't cooperate at bedtime. I think that after many nights being alone you just get into a routine and the older one knows what is expected of him. Most nights they cooperate and I have a content baby while I'm putting the toddler down.

Enjoy your wine!
I usually have to put both kids to bed once or twice a week and MH will likely have to do it once a week or so once the academic year starts.
DD goes to bed first (7:30ish)and DS gets to watch a show or play on the tablet while I put DD to bed. After the first few times it's gone pretty well since those a kind of "special" activities. It still sucks though.

I need that case! Dh has tons of matchbox cars in the garage!

This looks very similar... Our is 2 sided and I LOVE it! It is seriously the gift that keeps on giving for a toddler boy!

Ds1 doesn't sit to watch or play anything. The iPad, or tv makes him quiet for all of a record breaking 1min and 54sec!!!
She's purple screaming every time I get my boob next to her. I took a bath and washed my boobs and now I apparently don't smell right. I rubbed milk all over my boobs and she's still screaming. I don't know what to do and it's making me cry. I hate this. H has her and she's fine with him. But soon as I get her she starts screaming again.

DS has had a day or two like that. I ended up needing to pump bottles for DH to give him. Then suddenly everything would go back to normal. Sorry probably not super helpful.
OMG she's finally asleep. I didn't think it would ever end. Ugh. I don't know what caused it, but I hope whatever it was doesn't happen again. I'll probably never use soap on my boobs again just in case. So relieved it's over.

DD does this sometimes. It's weird! I'm sorry. It makes me cry too. Hugs

snoris what will you be doing regarding a schedule once you have daycare kiddos?
The only thing I have scheduled daily is meals for the big kid and I. The rest we make up as we go. Some days we have things to do during the day, other days we just hang out at home.
this would have been a concern but he sleeps great anyway. Issue averted. For nap at daycare, they can sleep when they want. Official rest time is according to the kids home schedules and so far everyone happens to have a very similar schedule. I'll take it!
