Was supposed to be 8 EST. I started it early as I had an 8:30 meeting pop up and I didn't want to peace out so fast on the thread, in case something terrible happened, like forgetting the B in Rumble.
I started smelling something in my kids room last week, so this past weekend I got everything out from under their bed and made them clean it up. There were probably 5 cups I had to throw away because of maggots. And the smell... a half eaten peach.
..........
So much WTF. They are now banned from having food/drinks in their room, yes?
Because formula is a good option, but I think we can all agree that any product out there can be improved upon and maybe the studies into the components of breastmilk can better inform the ingredients in formula?
I think this is sort of a forced breezy global statement that is really thinly veiled, Biblio. And frankly, it doesn't have any place in a discussion about supporting breastfeeding, because it is irrelevant if you are trying to maintain the position that you don't feel like formula is poison.
Plus this is totally "I think formula is ok BUT"
Science says forumula feeding is fine and benefits of breast feeding are negligible. No big whoop- do what you want with your baby. Stop thinking your side is better.

Alright here goes! Long time lurker first time confessing.
I still have my placenta hanging out in my freezer. I never wanted to encapsulate but my midwife brought it home with us just in case. My son is 14 months old and I'm pregnant with our second. I guess you can say I'm a little attached to it at this point. Hah, get it?!
have you considered making it a Christmas ornament?
Might be too heavy? Chop it up into chunks and disperse all over? Or perhaps on top of the tree instead of an angel or a star.
I'm pretty sure in the olden days they stuck it in basically any hole they could find.
The first hole I thought of is an ear. That made for an interesting mental image.
Cave woman - eerrr grunt grunt Translation - That is doing nothing for me.
There is an episode of family guy where they joke about ear sex. I'm sure there is a gif out there about it that would fit perfectly here, but I'm going to refrain from googling "ear sex" at work.
I feel some people should put more of an effort in their child's appearance. You only have a small window to instill hygiene habits and grooming skills. Use it.
Also the ability to choose adorable outfits without their input/complaints.
UO: I think Paralympic athletes are way more impressive then regular Olympic athletes. Not only do they have to be incredibly athletic, but they also have to overcome the physical and mental challenges that comes with having a physical disability. It annoys the fuck out of me that the Paralympics aren't given the same amount of media coverage as the regular Olympics.
100% agree.
But there's also a guy I went to high school with that made it to the Paralympics this year, so it's huge news for this small town!
Also: Mods- shouldn't this be stickered/stickied at the top since sitewide?
Did I type 9 in one of the invites? It should have been 8. I apologize if I put 9 out there somewhere. I did not intentionally create a B list invite list.

pbubblegum, Can you plant a tree with it? That way it's still kind of with you. I would be kind of baffled about what to do with it at this point- like you shouldn't/can't really just put it in the trash, right?
Why I find it dumb? Cause white privilege has nothing to do with your socioeconomic background and how you as te white person grew up. If you don't get that part, I'm done.
I don't think socioeconomic backgrounds are at all mutually exclusive to conversations about white privilege.
White privilege isn't about the person. It's about the systemic prejudices and or practices or general benefit of the doubtness. White friend can be down as hell and grew up in the projects, you will still experience more than non white friend. Not white friend's fault.
Again I don't have the patience to explain it when white friend says but I grew up poor so ...
I know Larry happened. Please do not try to convince me otherwise. Please don't talk to me about coffee. I don't drink it. I don't caffeine. When I state my opinion, that is me chiming in on a topic. This is not me saying you suck at life if you do or feel differently. If I want to say that, I will. If I want to speak on you, I will.

On a similar note to the body observations of Olympians, I've been mostly watching weightlifting and I'm finding it hard to not completely stare at the guy's gigantic packages when they lift.

Interesting. I hadn't considered that wanting formula to be improved, as are most products, could be seen as equating it to poison. Formula is a great option. For supplementing or full time feeding. I'm beyond thankful that it exists, for anyone who uses it. I thought it was a given that formula companies are constantly working to improve what they make (today's formula is obviously not what it was when it was first introduced, or even what it was 10 years ago). I'd like to think that the lactivists, with their studies on the components of breastmilk, could offer something to those formulating new types of formula.

Oh, of course. And I didn't know all that shit was under there because of the bed skirt.

Why!!!!!
Why do I still have it? Dunno, laziness? Novelty? Attachment? No idea.
I would like to know who was the first person that put dick in his or her mouth and what gave them that idea.
Other animals give oral, including our close evolutionary relatives, the bonobos. Oral sex likely predates Homo sapiens
Fun story. The other night, we were watching Olympics with my MIL & FIL. The kids were there. Out of the seeming blue, MIL shares that she learned bonobos are the most sexually active animals on earth. They have sex with any other member of their troop "just for fun!"

Re: breastfeeding. The main reason I don't plan on weaning right now is because I know that I will gain weight/not be able to eat all the foods when I do.
Since SAHM I've joined a workout group I found on FB. Over the past couple of months I've learned that some of the women are pro Trump and one in particular has shared some infuriating HRC memes. My confession is that I have not called her out on this and I'm going to continue participating in the group because I otherwise I like these women and enjoy the exercise and adult interaction.
* to clarify I only know of their views through FB we've never had any political discussions during our workouts
I admit a bit of pleasure from my friend's kid being sick and other issues cause she was on me about not giving my kid's immune system a boost with breastmilk.

Every four years I quietly sulk that my parents refused to pay for gymnastics classes when I was little. I could be a fucking Olympian! This is based solely on my size, not any sort of athletic prowess or willingness to exercise.

As someone who is currently pumping at work, I'd rather them improve breast pump technology. There has to be a better and more efficient option then what is currently out there.
